We have 28 players under contract.
QB Rufus Richardson dropped with the new scout. As did, ugh, TE Brant Carman. I extend RB Grady Pender’s contract by two years. I have 35.7 million under the cap in negotiating room. I trade OT RJ Freedman to the Rail Runners for their 2/15 pick this year. Freedman is good, but the past two years he has been injured for much of the year, and when he has played, he’s just been okay. S Justin Sotiroff is not interested in a new contract right now. I sign DE Bert Curtain to a three year deal overtop his rookie contract. I extend P Leo Rayburn by a year. WR Kenny Marshall is signed to a new deal for three years. OG Bruce Holliday for four years. I trade TE Irving O’Neill to the Lions for their 4/6 pick. I make an offer to K Christian Huffman. OT Beaver busted a bit. So did DT Stanley Allen This is not as good of a roster as it should have been. I trade DT Fitzpatrick to the Saints for their 3 and 6 rounders. Fitz had busted a bit and did not have a good starting year. 25 players. 15 draft picks. I am starting to question my decision to give Mercury Greene a new contract last year. He is not performing at the level you expect a 14 mill/year player to perform at. My scout hates every QB in the draft except maybe Wade Grant from North Carolina A&T. I extend CB McGowan by two more years. Week 5 - Sam Albriktsen signs with the Colts. Week 14 - K Huffman finally signs with us.

Draft Time!
The 2027 NFL Amateur Draft Starting Needs: FB, WR, OT, OT, C, CB, LB, S, DT I have a lot of needs. We draft 33rd in each round Our pick arrives. Here is who I like: FB Al Gilley - Very good, could be All Pro. Not worth the pick. FB Tracy Kramer almost as good S Ross Vaughn - Great at coverage, only adequate at picks, other good S includes S Everett McGarrahan DE Floyd Garner - 72/76 potentials with 52 endurance. That’s very respectable. See also DE Mitch Dodge. DT Joey Springer - 80/62 with 67 endurance. Very doable. OG Neil Lee - 71/75 with 51 end All of the OT left suck I grab Joey Springer. It’s an obvious choice. The FB, DE, OG on the board are better but not as positions of need. Joey is need meeting value, almost. Our 2/15 pick arrives. DE Garner is still on the board. LB and S and FB are not immediate needs. I have Westbrook at S this year. I can get a FB off the scrap heap. I have three LB for this year. What I really need are WR and OTx2 if available, but at least one OT. All of the OT in this draft suck. I’m not reaching severely out of depth for a crappy OT. I’d rather get value for the pick. Screw it, I’m BAPing this pick. At 2/33 I take a starting C. The rest of my draft is a mix of need and value. Draft Recap: 1 - DT Joey Springer, Missouri 2/15 - DE Floyd Gardner, Montana 2/33 - C Steven Marshall, Mississippi 2/36 - FB Tracy Kramer, Air Force. 3/5 - S Troy Gracia, North Carolina State 3/30 - OT Roger Fisher, Florida State 3/33 - OG Neil Lee, Washington State 4/6 - QB Wade Grant, North Carolina A&T 4/33 - RB JR Barnes, Ohio State 5/30 - LB Lionel Garcia, Furman 5/33 - C Wayne Collier, Michigan State 6/5 - WR Herman Alston, Pittsburgh 6/8 - LB Ted Parliman, Mississippi State 6/33 - CB Winston Snyder, California - KR/PR too 7 - TE Jack Giron, West Virginia University

I sign a few UFA:
OT Mack Buckley, Kansas State DT Billy Joe Streets, Wisconsin RB Cornell Freysinger, Nevada CB Marvin Ward, Kansas State TE Robert Elliot, Washington State S Van McWilliams, UTEP With no $$ at all. I look to camp. I just have 47 under contract, so I may have to make a decision here or there. The easy way is to trade Justin Sotirofff, the S in his final year who won’t sign a new deal. I hate losing All Pros I drafted, but I have to. I trade him to the Saints for their 3rd next year. More UFA offers: FB AJ Morris, Texas DT Chris Applegate, Stanford Okay, NOW let’s hit the camp.

More UFA signees: S Malcolm Colley, North Carolina OT Norbert Enos, Mississippi State WR Joe Jamison, Georgia Tech WR Nate Blades is in the FA pool and I’d love to bring him in but he is charging 6 million for just a patch. I have like 2 million left.

In order to be worth, what I call a Professional Contract (the non-rookie, multi year contracts), a player needs to perform at a very high level of play. They don’t have to be All Pro every year, but I want them to have that potential, if that makes sense.
Let’s look at the players with pro contracts on my team as examples: QB Ernest Mayes - Totally worth a pro contract, All Pro year, one of best QB in league. RB Grady Pender - Duh WR Kenny Marshall - I expect 1200+ and 8 TD seasons, not necessarily All Pro every year. OG Bruce Holliday - Two all pro seasons in three years. P Leo Rayburn - Totally worth the $$ K Christian Huffman - Hopefully will prove worth it DE Brock Woods - Last year was a bit of a let down. I am watching to make sure he returns DE Bert Curtain - 2 All Pro years in three years. Still has not had a double sack season and that’s going to have to start soon. DT Stanley Allen - A solid DT who is getting long in the tooth but is worth it LB Quinn Burroughs - Performing at a high level for a few years until I can find permanent replacements LB Cole Rhodes - Ditto, only not as high a level CB Rufus McGowan - 2 All Pro Years but stats have dropped off recently. Again, need a return to form please. CB Mercury Greene - Never been a pick master, but has been okay. I question this contract S Travis Westbrook - Just a patch for a couple of years That’s it. Just 14 players on my team are getting paid professional contracts. The rest are on rookies or one year deals. Since 2 of those twelve are my K and P, then you know that I have just 12 of 22 starters on offense and defense on a professional contract.

The 2027 Huntington Highlanders:
QB Ernest Mayes - A house with a bad year last year RB Grady Pender - A house that can run through you really well FB Tracy Kramer - Rookie with a lot of potential. TE Brant Carman - Still really strong and now very developed, just not as good as we had thought with the new scout WR Kenny Marshall - Fresh off All Pro season and new contract inked, nothing stands in way of greatness WR Shannon Kaplan - Won the “Which of These if the Least Crappy” Contest. C Steven Marshall - Rookie with solid potential starting OG Bruce Holliday - Fully developed. OG Riddick Wilkerson - Needs to upgrade stats because there are two starting caliber OG behind him OT Darnell Beaver - We saw improvement statistically from his rookie year, but dropped with new scout OT Roger Fisher - Rookie who is totally not ready and is a crappy OT. Totally a patch. P Leo Rayburn - Awesome K Christian Huffman - Awesome? DE Brock Woods - Reestablish dominance DE Bert Curtain - Get me 10+ sacks please. DT Stanley Allen - 10th year. Hope he still has some in the tank DT Joey Springer - A rookie in whom I have a lot of faith LB Quinn Burroughs - Can he get All Pro once more? LB Cole Rhodes - Just a patch with a longer term of service LB Jeff Grier - Just developed, not good CB Rufus McGowan - Need to refresh memory as to why he is good CB Mercury Greene - Come on, just give me one good year to hang my hat on S Travis Westbrook - Surprised he did not retire last year. 15th year in league S Troy Gracia - Rookie starting for us. Rar. KR/PR - CB Devin Williamson with assistance from CB Winston Snyder

Rookie Overview:
DE Floyd Gardner, 30/78 FB Tracy Kramer, 42/76 DT Joey Springer, 32/76 S Troy Gracia, 39/72 C Wayne Collier, 20/66 OG Neil Lee, 28/65 LB Lionel Garcia, 16/64 C Steven Marshall, 25/60 QB Wade Grant, 28/58 RB JR Barnes, 37/57 LB Ted Parliman, 20/55 WR Joe Jamison, 28/52 OT Roger Fisher, 20/50 CB Winston Snyder, 26/48 WR Herman Alston, 22/46 TE Jack Giron, 32/36 I usually have a paucity of OGs on my roster but great C and OT, but for the past few years, that has been the opposite here. That’s odd. We finish the pre-season 3-1. We have a couple of players banged up including C Marshall and RB Pender.

Team Awards:
Offensive Player of the Year: QB Ernest Mayes. Hello dominance. Hail your new king. Like I said before, I don’t ever recall getting the quadfecta with a QB (MVP, Super Bowl MVP, O or D PotY, and All Pro 1st Team). This was just a great, great, great season by a guy in his 10th season. Defensive Player of the Year: DE Brock Woods. He was the only defensive player to get an All Pro nomination, and he was pretty good. 12 sacks is back in double digits. On a team with a woefully low number of sacks, he still produced, plus he had very respectable QB Hurry and Blocked Pass numbers. Special Teams Player of the Year: P Leo Rayburn - Not just for the punter award, but also going 8 of 10 when spelling an injured K Hoffman in FG. That was really good. Rookie of the Year: S Troy Gracia - We had other rookies with higher profile draft picks or positions, like OT and DT, but Troy had a strong season and I have every confidence that he can be our starting S for a while to go. Heart Award: C Wayne Collier, drafted to be C Marshall’s backup, Collier had several starts under his belt and managed 22 KRB, third most on the team. That’s very respectable. Person Awards: This season, C Marty Brennan moved in front with the most KRB in a career with 515.

We have to hire a new Head Coach.
If we want to stay in the black, we need to keep away from a majorly expensive head coach. The most expensive HC in the league with the Saints is at 21 million annually, and Skins also have a 21 million a year coach. That’s just ridiculous. Our head coach wants 8.3 million, which would still be in the bottom 10 in the league, but it’s a lot of $$ to throw around. I wait a week then offer my guy 5,500,000 for 5 years and he accepts. 6th lowest salary to a HC but it was still a pay raise. I increase ticket prices a bit. I jack up VR boxes to 45k.

Free Agency begins and I get a nice offer from Baltimore. They will give us their late round 1st and a OG I drafted 5 years ago for Brock Woods. The good: I have a great DE just sitting on my bench because I BAP’ed last year. Woods is costing us 14 million or so and is in his 9th year. The bad: He is just off an All Pro year and I need sacks, not to trade my sackers.
I make the trade. The cap room is nice. I now have 5 legitimate starters at the OG position. This is not going to work. I trade OG Wilkerson and my 4/36 pick to the Lions for their 1/26 pick. I extend P Rayburn’s contract by a year I cut DE Vincent O’Donnell I trade OG Curtis Mayes, who we got the DE Woods trade, to the Skins for their 3/5 pick. We are now 32 million under the cap with 33 player sunder contract with 9 draft picks. I trade LB Cole Rhodes to the Saints for their 4/13 pick. I extend LB Jeff Grier’s contract by two years.

Spots of need:
Starters: S, CB perhaps, LB, LB, DT perhaps, OT, OT perhaps, WR I am not grabbing any FA this year. Not at first any way. C Jesse Tate signed with the Titans. WR Mickey Baum signed with the Chargers Week 17 - If I had some money, I’d sign very green DE Gino Koonce and develop him and trade him for a very good pick because he has a lot of talent. The 2028 Amateur Draft We have trip 1sts, but all at the back of the round. The 26th arrives and I take a look at the best players on the board: OG Wade Beverly - Seriously, there is a great OG here. OGs have become a dime a dozen it seems. LB Sedrick Rhinehart - Okay. Not great, probably not worth a 1st rounder but an early 2nd would be okay. S Derek Long - Amazing run stopping, solid pass stopping but low picks. CB Al Newman - Very big weakness in man-to-man D but great everywhere else. CB Jim Ackerman - No weaknesses, just strong Once again - NO GOOD OT. DAMN. Not a single OT was taken so far, so I could take any DT in the draft, and they all suck. BAP suggests Jim Ackerman, need suggests Long or Rhinehart. However, there are three legit late 1st round CB on the board, so I can pass on Ackerman and get a good CB later I suspect. There are no other good S left that I would really want to start for me. There’s jus ttoo much of a drop off in talent at the S position. At 29 do I take BAP when there are two other CB on the board I’d be happy ot take at 36, or do I go with a lesser player at a position of need? I just have one 2nd at 2/36. I am not getting any players that fall out of 1. I take the LB. Sigh. Damn, Ackerman is still on the board and 3 CB went since the Rhinehart pick. I take him and thank my lucky stars. Jonas is pretty well developed so I like him. There’s a solid DT on the board at 3/5 so I grab him. Draft Recap: 1/26 - S Derek Long, Garner-Webb 1/29 - LB Sedrick Rhinehart, Colorado State 1/36 - CB Jim Ackerman, Michigan 2 - WR Eugene Jonas, Cornell 3/5 - DT Raymond Stargell, South Carolina 3/15 - OT Marco Goguen, North Carolina State - Need pick 3/36 - RB Butch Carlson, UCLA - BAP pick 4/13 - QB Jesse Floyd, Florida -BAP 5 - WR Greg Wilkins, San Diego 6 - LB Cory Battle, Marshall 7 - TE Gary Geer, WVU Two WV players at the end there makes me happy.

With a paucity of OT in the league over the last few years, I think I may need to reassess my OT needs.
LB Burroughs is not interested in a new contract. I trade CB Rufus McGowan and my 7th rounder to the Cowboys for their 2nd rounder. I love McGowan but he is in his 10th years. Now I can focus on Ackerman at the starting CB position. I sign OT Rex Vera for two years to be a patch for me. UFA: RB BJ Cooley, Ohio State FB Daryl Lake, Missouri - Rolla OG Kurt Sims, Syracuse DE Gene Urquoila, Appalachian State DE Randal Dresback, Missouri DT Sedrick Galloway, Wayne State, Nebraska CB Jimmy Ordona, Vanderbilt CB Daniel Dupont, Dartmouth S Rex Quinn, San Diego State S Phillip Wollmuth, Louisville DT Stan Madison, Georgia 54 players, nice and even. I trade DT Allen, in his 11th year, to Austin for their 2nd rounder next year.

Camp Time.
We sold 22,300 season tickets I sign OT Derrick Collier to a one year patch deal. I trade OT Darnell Beaver to the Vikings for their 3rd and 7th. Let’s look at the rooks: CB Jim Ackerman, 58/90 - Awesome! RB Butch Carlson, 58/86 - Totally worth the BAP pick S Derek Long, 47/86 - Glad I pickeded him. LB Sedrick Rhinehart, 43/79 - Not bad for a position of need in the 1st. DT Raymond Stargell, 40/71 - Allowed me to trade Allen QB Jesse Floyd, 42/62 - Solid TE Gary Geer, 34/62 - Not as good as this number says OT Marco Goguen, 13/60 - Tres verte WR Eugene Jonas, 56/59 - Like I said, already very developed WR Greg Wilkins, 38/46 - Okay at best LB Cory Battle, 8/40 - Amazingly green Whew! No busts. I think this is one of my best draft classes, potentially, in this dynasty. I feel very good about it. 5 of these players (Jonas, Ackerman, Long, Rhinehart and Stargell) will start immediately. Carlson is a franchise quality RB, but a step below Pender, Santoro, Barrett and Shepherd, which have been my best backs. He’s be about Aaron Witt level of play. Guy has 90 breakaway, 60 short yard potential, 71 3rd down, 63 ypc potential. He is really strong. This draft had two Pender/Barrett/Shepherd/Santoro level RBs in in, and they went 1/1 and 1/4. There is some competition out there for my guys. To be fair, Pender is in his 9th year, and his skills are eroding a bit each of the last two years. I could run Pender for a couple of years and then slide to a fully developed Carlson. I just checked and the 1/1 guy busted somewhat and now looks like a decent UFA back. The 1/4 guy is the best in the draft. He is playing for the Rams, name of Rondell Pride.

I love my QB. I have 4, and I think they are all good.
Let’s look (These are potential scores): Screen Passes: Mayes is at 84. Richardson - 81, Grant 76, Floyd 79 Short: Mayes 89. Richardson - 82, Grant 84, Floyd 47 Medium: Mayes 95. Richardson - 60, Grant 38, Floyd 53 Long: Mayes 86. Richardson - 83, Grant 94, Floyd 74 Deep: Mayes 81. Richardson - 59, Grant 90, Floyd 82 3rd Down: Mayes 75. Richardson - 67, Grant 68, Floyd 84 Accuracy: Mayes 96. Richardson - 73, Grant 79, Floyd 59 Power: Mayes 96. Richardson - 29, Grant 44, Floyd 63 Scramble Freq: Mayes 72, Richardson - 54, Grant 58, Floyd 65 Carrying: Mayes 82, Richardson - 81, Grant 31, Floyd 51 So, obviously Ernest Mayes is a hoss. That’s obvious. Take a look at Richardson. He is 59, 60, 81, 82, and 83 at the 5 passing ranges - strong. Solid accuracy. Got a noodle for an arm, but fumbles rarely. Kind of like a Chad Pennington QB. Look at Grant. Great passing ranges except for one weakness. Again, great accuracy and better power than Richardson. A fumble guy, but arguably a better passer than Richardson. Now look at Floyd. Very balanced power and accuracy, which is very important. Short and medium passes aren’t his thing, but he is a great long and deep ball. All of these players would be solid starters at the QB position. All could slide in wit an injury to Mayes and not suck. I like the corps. Richardson and Grant are having their contracts end after this and next year, so I may look to move them. But they are really good.

I’m looking at some of my old draft classes to see who is still around. From 7 years ago, my first draft class with the Browns, I drafted a backup QB named Norman Westbrook, and he is still playing, but the really good Sam Marshall from 6 years ago is out of the league.
Although that first draft class was not very impact on my team, and all of the players got jettisoned sooner or later, most are still in the league as 7th year vets. That’s something. From my draft 6 years ago, I still have Mercury Greene and Kenny Marshall as starters. Some of the players are gone from 2nd round OG Chad Chadwick to Defensive Rookie of the Year S Jose Stevens. 5 years ago was the Bruce Holliday and Bert Curtain draft that gave me two starters today. It is fun to look back.

Let’s go.
We go 2-2 in the preseason. LB Lionel Garcia is out for several months. I toss him on IR and sign LB Corey Wagner. Week 1 - Ernest Mayes is Offensive Player of the Week and Game MVP as we win 47-27 against the Packers. Mayes was 28 of 34, 297 and 4:0 while also rushing for a score. Carman and Wilkins each caught two TD Passes. Pender was injured and Carlson got 21 carries for 133 yards and a score. Told ya rookie Carlson could easily carry the load. C Marshall had 4 KRB. FB Kramer is doubtful and deactivated. OG Holliday is out for a few months, but luckily I have good coverage for that. Week 2 - We lose 12-14 to the Lions. Pender is held to 39 yards on 14 carries. Mayes hits Pender for a score. Week 3 - We get back to winning with a 31-14 showing over the Jags. Pender is Offensive Player of the Week and Game MVP with 189 yards on 28 carries and a TD. Mayes rushed for a score too. Marshall and Carman caught TD passes while Jonas had 113 yards on 5 catches - his first 100+ receiving day. Gardner had 2.5 sacks while Curtain got 2. Collier had 5 KRB. Week 4 - We edge our rivals, the Bengals, 26-24. Pender is again Offensive Player of the Week and Game MVP with 110 yards on 32 carries, 2 rushing TD. Snyder and Greene had picks while Ackerman had two. Fisher and Marshall each had 4 KRB.

Season Awards:
NFL MVP - RB Grady Pender NFL Offensive Player of the Year: RB Grady Pender All-Pro 1st Team - QB Ernest Mayes, RB Grady Pender, TE Brant Carman, K Christian Huffman, LB Quinn Burroughs A few comments - Mayes was sucking at the half way mark and sat out the last four games. WTF? I feel like we must have robbed someone for that award. Yay for another All Pro for Burroughs and Carman! Burroughs will retire soon (this year?) and I’m happy that he grabbed another pair of All Pro seasons for me before his retirement. 6 All Pro seasons for a LB is a pretty good resume for Canton. (Remember, these are not merely Pro Bowl awards, but All Pro ones). Others of note: FB Zach Taylor C Bo Austin C Ray Hampton CB Rufus McGowan OG Riddick Wilkerson All had All Pro years Wow, I just found out that 20 year vet C Gerald Wright is still in the league, and he had an All Pro season for me back in 2010. He is playing for the 49ers right now. Wow. I thought he had retired long ago and pulled him off my list.

Most rushing yards by far, far, far ,(300 most than competition), 2nd most ypc 15th most passing yards, tied for 4th most ypc Fewest rushing yards allowed by 175 over the next best. Tied for best ypc allowed Allowed 2nd most passing yards, Tied for worst ypc allowed 44 sacks, tied for 7th most. 35 allowed, 14th fewest +18 TO Margin, led league (barely, San Antonio was at +17) Rushing O and D were unparallel. Top in both. That’s how you win games. Passing D very suspect and Passing O not that great. Consequence of getting ahead a lot and a backup QB the final quarter of season?

Individual Stats:
QB Ernest Mayes, 63.7%, 2742, 23:7, 101.3 rating. He really brought his game back up. Tied for 2nd most TD, best QB Rating by far far far, but 28th in passing yards. RB Grady Pender, 1784 yards (led league), 15 rush TD (led league), 4.8 ypc. I love Grady Pender. WR Kenny Marshall, 64 grabs, 742 yards, 6 TD RB Grady Pender, 59 catches, 666 yards, 3 TD TE Brant Carman, 53, 565, 9 WR Eugene Jonas, 40, 563, 1 No question Carman is All Pro caliber. This was a down year in passing, so I’m okay with the down year in stats for Marshall. K Huffman - 37 of 45, most FG in league, 56 long P Rayburn - 29 of 80 in 20, poor average DE Bert Curtain, 13.5 sacks, 4 blocked passes, 5 QB Hurries - Very good stats Bert! DE Floyd Gardner, 13 sacks, 2 blocked passes and 3 QB hurries - Solid 1st year since he is still green DE Gene Urquoila, 5 sacks, UFA player DT Joey Springer, 4.5 sacks, 3 b passes, 2 QB H LB Quinn Burroughs, 97 solo tackles (Tied for 8th most in league), 1.5 sacks, 2 b passes, 2 QB Hurries, 8 pasdef, 1 pick for a TD, 2 fumrec CB Jim Ackerman, 5 picks (led team), 5 pas def S Derek Long, 2 picks, 10 pas def (led team) CB Mercury Greene, 4 picks, 8 pasdef C Steven Marshall, 44 KRB, 7 sacks allowed - 2nd in the league in KRB and no All Pro? That’s lame. OG Neil Lee, 33 KRB, 6 sacks allowed - Tied for 7th most KRB in league. Only one OG in the league had more KRB than him (Wilkerson, one of my own draftees), and yet no All Pro? (Remember 4 OGs make All Pro instead of 2 like C) They were robbed OT Derrick Collier, 23 KRB, 6 sacks allowed OT Roger Fisher, 19 and 7 Holliday, 14 and 2, 10 starts

Team Awards:
Offensive Player of the Year: C Steven Marshall - Sometimes I like to stay away from the obvious. 44 KRB clearly helped Pender to a great season. Good job Marshall! Defensive Player of the Year: DE Bert Curtain - This is about as good as he will get. 13.5 sacks, and a strong presence in hurries and blocked passes. Thanks Curtain! Special Teams Player of the Year: K Huffman. Another All Pro season with a league leading number of FGs. He is a weapon. Rookie of the Year: CB Jim Ackerman. S Derek Long led the team in pasdef, Jonas was not as present as I’d hoped, DT Stargell was solid but unspectacular and Rhinehart was at the WLB spot where he can grow and rarely get high stats. I’m giving it to Ackerman with his team leading 5 picks and 5 passes defensed. This was a good outing by a CB I hope to see more of in the future. Heart Award: DE Gene Urquoila - It wasn;t just that he had 5 sacks as a backup UFA that gets this award. He dominated in the two games that he notched these sacks - 3 in one and 2 in another. When a backup UFA just establishes dominance like that, you have to give credit here.

Franchise:
We made 58 million last year, an increase of 20 million over the previous year (and that’s with an 8 million increase in coaching costs) 16th best value 20th best stadium 2nd best roster 6th lowest fan support Tied for 17th best economy 2nd lowest attendance by #, 12th lowest by % How many teams made $$ this year? Just 8 others besides ourself. We were about 5th in the league in terms of most money made. I increase my prices a bit again and VR boxes to 50k

Free Agency:
I get some junky offers for my players. A 7th for TE Carman? A 1/36 for Mercury Greene? The 2/30 for OG Holliday? We have 36 players under contract with 18 million in cap room. A lot of players are in their final year. I extend QB Mayes’ contract by two years I extend WR Kenny Marshall’s contract by two years RB Grady Pender has a year added to his deal DE Bert Curtain by 3 years TE Brant Carman gets his first “professional” contract and a two year extension. K Christian Huffman gets two more years P Leo Rayburn for two more years In his final year, I call up some GM friends and see who wants QB Rufus Richardson. He’s good. He’s either a great backup or a serviceable starter, plus he has developed. I trade him to the Bears for their 1/18 pick. I think that’s a decent realistic offer, so I take it. The guy had a 88.1 QB Rating in his four starts last year. I make a tough decision. He will never be worth his contract. Time to move on. I trade CB Mercury Greene to the Vikings for their 1/36 pick as per their offer. UFA CB Jimmy Ordona, who I will need to sign, broke open even more, so I intend to sign him later to my starting spot if needed. I trade OG Thomas Cobb to the Saints for their 3rd and 6th round picks. He’s a solid starter. Now, with the $$ cleared up, I give OG Neil Lee his first professional contract for two more years. You keep getting high KRB like you were, and I’ll be very happy with this $$ paid. I trade QB Wade Grant to the Skins for their late 4th rounder. Still in their final year are C Marshall, DE Gardner and S Gracia Troy Gracia dropped a bit post-injury and I just don’t know if he is worth 8-10 million annually. He’s had 4 picks and 4 pas def in 2 years as a starter. Is that really what I want from a starter? 33 players and 49 million. I need a lot of $$ for my rookie class, plus I want to keep some dough for resigning my good players. I’d sign Marshall and Gardner now but they each want just one year deals. My Starter Needs: OT LB LB? CB? S? There are some studs in FA in LB and S areas. I’ll hit up the draft though, I have 3 1sts (18, 35, 36), 3 late 2nds, and much more. I have 16 picks, plenty of space to find good players. I cut OT Rex Vera. OG Wilkerson signed with Phily Week 17 - I sign RFA CB Jimmy Ordona to a four year deal I sign RFA OG Kurt Syms to a 3 year deal

The 2029 NFL Amateur Draft
Our pick arrives at 1/18. Here is who I am looking at.: LB Mo Razo - Very good. Very good indeed. No weaknesses, easy MLB candidate WR Rico Follette - Solid. WR Brock Warren - Even Better WR Roy Hammond - Pretty good CB Rex London - Not as good as Ackerman last year, but nice. S Irving Jarvis - Great except for poor man-to-man C Les Morris - Amazing QB Johnny Hernandez - Just putting his name out here for later if available Frankly, this is easy. Needs meets BAP. Now we have two picks in a row. Suck, All three WR left. Bob Longo, WR is still on the board, and he’s pretty good. Travis Parrish similarly. S Jon Prescott is tempting I could grab C Les Morris and trade C Marshall, since he doesn’t want to re-sign. Hmm. Wonder if I can trade C Marshall right now? I trade C Steven Marshall to the Jaguars for their 6 and 7 next year I take Les Morris here. I trade S Troy Garcia and the Jaguars 7th next year for the Eagles 3rd next year. I then take Jon Prescott. Now I used those two picks to “fix” my roster. Besides, Morris is incredibly good looking. I use the rest of the draft to collect talent (aka BAP) Draft Recap: 1/18 - LB Mo Razo, North Carolina 1/35 - C Les Morris, Arkansas State 1/36 - S Jon Prescott, Southern Illinois 2/28 - WR Travis Parrish, Oklahoma 2/34 - QB Johnny Hernandez, Miami, Florida 2/35 - RB Maurice Carlisle, Jacksonville 3/1 - OT Blaine Preston, Eastern Illinois 3/35 - S James Cronin, Ohio State 3/36 - DT Mo Webb, Maryland 4/29 - WR Oliver Clemons, Purdue 4/35 - FB Eric Thornton, Oregon 5/35 - RB Glen Bates, Weber State 6/1 - LB Bernie Kitchens, Syracuse 6/35 - C Ken Kwan, Louisiana State 7/33 - DE Edward Harper, Arkansas 7/35 - S Emmanuel Malecki, Florida State I would like to apologize to the league for the drafting of Maurice Carlisle. I now have three amazingly good RB on my roster.
