Boston just got outworked on both those goals. Brutal. Rask puts both to the corner like he's supposed to and they get beat both times.

You live by the huge comeback, you die by the huge comeback.

Everything after 4-1 in game 7 versus Toronto was gravy.

Grats to the Blackhawks.

Also wanted this to go 7 (and then Chicago to win in 3 OT)

It seems like Chicago's celebration is a bit subdued...like they're a bit shocked at what just happened like the rest of us.

I know little about hockey, but, damn, that was as exciting single minute in sports as I've seen. Just frantic. I need to learn this sport better.

Nor should it.

Speaking of, if you didn't see DGB on Grantland today...another classic.

B's were not as sharp as I've seen them in this series though.

I don't think it was possible for them to be as sharp as they were in Pens series.

Really fun series, would have rooted for Bruins against just about anyone coming out of West besides Chicago.

I love that Scott Oake tries to bring Winnipeg into every conversation he possibly can. Represent!

As much as I respect the team that the Bruins have put together, and as much as I still hate the Blackhawks for beating the Flyers a few years ago, this is a win for NHL fans because a cup for Jacobs would have been the ultimate FU.

Patrice Bergeron played with a broken rib, torn cartilage, and a separated shoulder.

Because it's the cup.

Great series, great teams, could have gone either way. The whole thing was good for hockey. I hope a lot of people tuned in.

Which reminds me, Mike & Mike spent a minute talking about the game and then an hour talking about Durant choosing Jay-Z as his agent. ESPN really hates the NHL.

Glad things were finished last night. Now we can get down to serious business, which is the offseason. Time for the Wings to make some moves to improve this team.

You know what else we can get down to? Summer. I love hockey, but June 25th? Good grief.

Yeah it seems to go later and later, much like baseball does now. Wouldn't hurt if both seasons lost some games, perhaps an even 100 games in MLB and 60-70 in the NHL? Will never happen though.

This was largely due to the lockout. Pushed everything back a few weeks. You actually have summer in Winnipeg?

Partly the lockout, but even normal seasons are dragging well into June now. I actually kind of liked the 48 game season this year. I sort of think the ideal seaason, for me as a fan, would start in October like it currently does, run about 45-50 games ending in say early/mid-February, and then do the playoffs from there which would end I guess around the end of April or so. But as Roma says, never gonna happen.

I just think it sucks that right around when the hockey gets really good my desire to watch it starts to drop as the days get longer and the weather gets nicer. For most of the playoffs I only watched the 3rd period and OT of games because there is just too much to do outside. That's if I watched the game at all. Pretty disappointing.

As for Winnipeg, yeah we get summer. Actually we get pretty decent summers, normally. Temps in 80's and lots of sun. Last year was amazing, it seemed like it was 85-90 and sunny every day for 3-4 months. This year has been pretty crappy so far, but I don't think that's much different than most of North America really. That said, right now it's 82 and sunny, so I can't complain!
