Finally caught a break. Got a wand of magic missile that has pretty big damage and since I'm artificer I can still use it after charges are gone.

Still need to actually kill something though

Well... Galron and I searched the urn room to see wha else we could find in here other than some dead guy ashes. Lo and behold we disturbed a Spirit of Pain! This thing must have been locked up for quite some time as it was pissed. It was on full tlt and was enraged. It came at both of us and we readied our weapons. As we each attacked our half of the spirit I hit directly 3 times and slayed the etheral beast. In the process it contacted me once for about a third of my health. These things are lethal. As I gathered myself I stepped over to help Galron as he seemed to be working up a sweat. As I approach Galron finally connects and deals a near lethal blow. The spirit connects as well and hits for another decent amount of damage. Seeing an opening to get a swing at it I steady myself and throw another wide arcing swing of the guisarme at it. Bam!! The spirit is dead. Hell yeah! That's how we roll! This is finally starting to be some fun! While I do not hav to sleep I do need to take some rest tonight and then we can move on tomorrow. I hope we can encounter some more otherwordly beasts to entertain us on our way further into this maze. Good work Galron!

What kind of rooms have you been seeing there my friend? If we could figure out your 10-20 we could meet up and really start to have some fun!

A kensai, a chaos warrior and a paladin walk into a bar. The Kensai says to the bartender... give me a dew. On the rocks. The human looks over startled which unseats the beastman and the bartender says, I know the cat doesn't have your tongue. He's back there on those lighter bricks! Lavinia, sitting at the end of the bar cracks a smile while Abe, the bartender, says the drinks are on the house!

Piñata room day 1.. Fountain with magical eels in day 2.. Altar of the sun with a giant ball of light in day 3(level 2 bricks) giant millstone with an invisible stalker on day 4(level 2 bricks)

End of the First Week, Sprite-Cast


Oh I totally agree. As always we tend to see fighting style combatants trending at the top after the first week, only to see then falling off the charts as the next weeks come. Fighters are the most prepared in the Dungeon at the beginning, and the least prepared to finish at the end. THey have a limited ability to take out a group of opponents, whereas a Magic User gets better and better at such fights. Plus, Magic users will even be better prepared for melee with spells like Stoneskin and Expertise. And a simple spell like Protection from Normal Weapons will blow through half the Dungeon without any thought.


True true Sparkles. Anyway, we had a variety of deaths as wel.


Yes, we know have just three Dungeon Blocks that haven't had a single player in them killed. And yes in some others we've had as much as 30% dead after just five days. It's really hard to say from one Block to the next just how things will take!

And here you see that whole "Fighters Tend to First" concept. True. Only cheekimonk right now is the lone exception, but I think that with ntndeacon and Chief Rum right there in the mix, you'll see this list slowly and slowly move towards a more non-fighters until some start winning. That's why we handicap fighters and mixed classes compared to pure mages, because too many mages were winning in the early years.


Right, but then we had pushed too far and fighters were winning too much until we gave the mixed classes an additional handicap.

And now we are in a decent state of equilibrium.
