It's worse than that... Looking for a job. Can't even date when you can't pay your bills. If something doesn't come along soon, I'll be borrowing money from mom to finish working on my condo to get it up to code, then putting it on the market and hoping it sells fast.

Even if I were to happen upon a woman that would be worth spending time with... can't ask a woman out if you are getting shot down by bullsh*t jobs that you don't want in the first place.

Nothing I can say will make you feel better. May I recommend a book that has helped me a lot in my life? It is called the Law of Success by Napoleon Hill.

I would not be in law school if not for this book. I believe this book to be the key reason why I have come to accept and be happy with a lot of things in my life. Given what has transpired this year it has helped me a lot when I felt like quitting to be home with family. Give it shot.

Also to anyone else who sees this post... same thing give it a shot.

Sorry to have steered a dating thread in a bad direction. (I'll put that book on my "to read" list Noop)

To get things back on track...

The other night I came home from a bike ride & saw the neighbor that lives directly across from me (on the side... my window faces hers directly & she could see WAY too much, as I don't have blinds up) I had never talked to her. Just waved hello. I have wondered if she even lives there, as I have never seen a light on. Turns out she moved shortly after I moved in & she's selling it.

So she really reminds me of my last girlfriend. She showed me her place & to be polite I showed her mine. After talking for a bit I wrapped things up & said "nice to meet you." She then hugged me. Not a church hug either. Full boobage. Felt really nice. Too bad I can't date.

This is vastly my situation as well although the money/house situation is more stable. Being 40 in a college town type area is NOT helping. I still can't figure out if looking like I'm 30 is a good thing due to the false impressions both sides get. A new girl came to my gamer group and she is very next door neighbor pretty. She seems rather awesome after talking to her. She's has to be all of 22-24. (head desk) Will I have a game more geared towards what she might like if she show up at the next meeting? (whistles innocently) The two new girls' faces were kind of priceless when we said we were playing Pandemic and it was about curing diseases. Next time, I'm bringing Takenoko.

Thats really cool man. I was a serial dater until I was around 30, no trouble getting dates, laid ,etc...and when I met my wife I knew pretty early on she was the one and we haven't looked back since.

Ok. This is weird. Went on to a dating site that is ok (hint, hint.) I unhid my profile out of boredom (and seeing women in bikinis by the pool.) Can't hide it again for a week, so I have been just looking around.

There is a woman who looks delicious who I previously wrote to with no reply. I wrote again when seeing her online just to ask where a pic was taken because the play equipment that looked like bunnies & hippos would be cool for my nieces. Of course she now replies & is all nice. I can't really take it further due to my job situation.

Now today a woman who looks good writes to me out of the blue. I tell her why I unhid my profile and would have already hid it if not for having to leave it up for one week. She said she understands how finances can be bad in this economy & as long as I'm "not a bum" she would still like to meet me. What the hell... might as well see where it goes. Worst thing that can happen (other than being ground into sausage links & fed to a pet liger) is that I end up right back here watching porn.

My girlfriend I met online..I was working at the time, met a few times, liked each other it rolled into a relationship. In that time she found out my finances were tight and my credit was shot because of the divorce I am going through.

She was fine with that, as long as I wasn't a bum. I was laid off and it rolled into a new job, that I have been at for over a year.

Mind you, we didn't know each other that well when I was laid off, because my past job was travel and I was gone constantly and when I was home I had my kids on the weekends and saw her maybe one night a week.

She had said from the get go, as long as I wasn't a bum and was active to change my situation she would have met me regardless.

She indicated that it wouldn't be too forward if I brought up clothes with me to stay overnight. She reasoned that I live an hour away, and it will be a long night as it is. She also indicated that she's very comfortable with me staying, and wants me to. So...I'm not reading into anything here. But...yeah.

We talk an average of 5-6 hours a day, through texting, the phone, g-chat, anything. We end every night by talking on the phone. I feel like I'm in high school again...in a good way.

Looking forward to tomorrow at 430, as that's when I get to see her again.

It's kind of interesting. I think guys tend to be a bit more open minded towards women on this than the other way around. I have no proof, but just my gut instinct.
