I was starting to debate about going to bed as well, but I'll just be tired tomorrow.

Shipley should have caught that.

Looks like this turned into a game!

I just got in a few minutes ago & turned the game on. What happened to McCoy?

I'm telling you... these receivers are not doing Gilbert any favors with the amount of passes they are dropping especially Malcolm Williams.

Genius timing and execution on the onside kick. It was early enough that Alabama was more likely thinking "they might still be in this" rather than "they might try an onside kick here."

Got hit pretty good on his shoulder like the fourth play from scrimmage, x-rays were negative but they wouldn't let him come back in.

As an SEC fan, I'd prefer Bama to win.

As a football fan, I'd love to see Texas stage a comeback.

ok, nothing came of it but pulling it off, and now the great punt are definitely positive momentum builders.

Ok, no ref help, so be it. It happens all the time. Defense needs to keep giving us shots and keep fighting.

There's no debate to have. I made a statement about my expectations for Texas & what Gilbert's production relative to those expectations has been. That's not debatable stuff, those are both facts. My expectations were what they were, Gilbert's production is what it is.

Not for one second have I thought Texas had more than a snowball's chance in hell of beating Alabama, the absence of McCoy doesn't change that one bit.

Can a sprained shoulder get worse? Just doesn't seem like an injury that has the ability to end someone's career or even hurt draft status. I understand knee sprains and such which could cause a person to move awkwardly and cause more damage.

Wouldn't it make sense to let McCoy back in and just take him out when they got up by 30?

sprain = slight tear

yes, i would imagine using torn ligaments and muscles can damage them further

Its more than possible your expectations are flawed seeing that a QB that is 7-28 has kept this game within 11 points and a couple of stupid decisions from being closer than that.

If you're a Texas Football fan you need to be asking for Bobby Kennedy's resignation come tomorrow morning. While his segment blocks well on running plays(especially the speed sweep) they are receivers and need to catch the ball.

McCoy wouldn't have been doing much better. Especially considering that Texas has dropped half a dozen balls tonight.

Absolutely no way to tell that. Playcalling would have been totally different.

McCoy is better at reading a defense. He is normally not trying to force the ball into covered WRs.

Its easy to see Gilbert has a great arm but he has no idea where to throw the ball.

Yep, it could have gotten McCoy eaten alive as opposed to the conservative approach they've been forced to adopt with Gilbert at QB.

McCoy would have given them a little bit more athleticism at QB but passing wise he wouldn't have made much of a difference.

FWIW, i also subscribe to the belief that the SEC is, by a wide margin, the most difficult conference in college football.

Gilbert can throw a deep ball though which McCoy can't. I'd rather take McCoy in this game but Nebraska already exposed his game and showed how to beat them. Gilbert at least offers something they were not prepared for at all.

From personal experience, he really seemed to be someone talking with the after effects of a stroke.

Well I think Alabama is the better team that isnt playing their best game tonight. However with the 2 early give aways. I think Alabama is in a battle IF Colt hadnt gotten hurt. Colt may not have the greatest skills but hes not stupid and knows enough to take the points when they are there and to not make a stupid pass at the end of the first half. And I know he wouldnt be 8-29.

Note to Greg Davis keep throwing it to Shipley then use him as a decoy and pray Williams catches the ball.

That doesn't belong on Gilbert, that belongs on the guy(s) who called the play.

The Gilbert kid has actually been good in the 2nd half combined with Alabama playing uber-conservative. Texas literally has like 6 dropped passes tonight which have really hurt.

1. They are kinda sorta pulling this off.

2. Imagine if they hadn't just gifted 'Bama that TD before halftime.
