Andrew Sullivan doing a great job covering the protest today. Lots of people in the streets, with reports of protesters being killed. Of course, that means more protests in seven and 40 days to mourn these deaths.

Reporters were taken directly to the pro-government protest by bus and were not being allowed to cover the much larger anti-government protests. Military presence is much larger than in previous protests, showing a greater concern by the government about the effect these protests are having on the current leaders and their power base.

Interesting video leaked showing the attack on Tehran University students on June 14th, 2009. It's taken by a Basij member and shows the blatent attack on dorms. Discussion over at Andrew Sullivan's blog is that this video was leaked by a disgruntled member of the Basij after a police government official claimed in a speech that the protests were quelled without any violence or death.

Just for kicks, I put this into Google translate.

Indonesian. WTF?

Salary is a form of periodic payment from an employer to its employees which is stated in an employment contract.

From the point of view of conducting business, salaries can be considered as the costs required to obtain human resources to run operations, and hence are called personnel costs or payroll costs. In accounting, salaries are recorded in a payroll account.
