From past games, paranoia started to arise from people being exhausted when there was no clear explanation for the night actions they intended to take. Again, tons of ways to play this out but no night coordination could lead four people to be guarding water while leaving all kinds of other assets unguarded, just to throw one outcome out for discussion. |

so is it possible to have a security officer present at examinations? to potentially save the life of a doctor if he finds a spawn?

Yes, I'm definitely hoping the security guys are coordinating things like that, but haven't focused on where they're at there. So I agree with you about that.
Will our status be posted publicly? If so I guess that removes the major reason I was suggesting we not talk about it. |

This post has no value except to get Autumn to check the thread again.

wait so you're saying people showe dup exhausted and didn't explain what night action they took? I thin kif we just say what we're doing and then saldana would have a clear list of people to give exams to the next day (aka those exhausted who did night actions) And what is the effect of exhausted people? They can still work right? There is the STAY AWAKE rule which makes you RESISTANT to an attack. But I really don't understand that rule |

which is kinda why i wanted to talk about the night conversion of the 2nd warehouse so that all four of us didn't get tired. I think if one of us did it that would be fine. It has to be done sometime. |

okay hoops I think I'm just going to go for it and convert the remainder of WH2 tonight. We can put a security guard there too. And if any more paranoia saldana can scan me tomorrow if he wants. Any objections?

Exhausted are at greater risk to getting whacked if/when Spawn come calling, can potentially fail other actions as well. That was my takeaway going over the rules just now. |

exhausted people I guess get a roll I guess during the day for work effect.
But if I pass that we get the extra stuff done and if I fail well we've still got WH2 finished and not have to worry about it. |

well the excuse would be, of course, that the spawn did something to mess up the building while I was working on it. Granted there are enough people around that can guard me/the area from any night attacks. |

Given the work that has to be done it is a surprisingly quiet night from the Engineering crew with only, CrimsonFox burning the midnight oil as he works in Building A.
There is a bit more activity in Building D, where Autumn is spotted in his office and Abe is seen inside the Scientists’ Lab. Chief Rum and dubb can both be observed in the Crew Quarters in the same general area. Over inside Building B, meanwhile, the more observant would have seen PackerFanatic. What isn’t seen is any trace of the Spawn. You know they’re out there and you know they’re capable of nearly unspeakable terrors so this lack of evidence is hardly reassuring. Deadline is 8 for submitting actions. It generally takes me a fair amount of time, especially early on in the game, to process all the night actions, and hence the lag between when actions are due and when I start the next day.

Well now you can see why I was suggesting everyone not post their night actions. I didn't realize our statuses would be public. I wanted to sneak in some extra planning on night 1 and have it done to give us more flexibility down the pike. But I thought it would be bad if the Spawn knew who was exhausted. But now they know.
Good news is we have more plans ready! |

This is kind of rough for the security guys in particular since it's obvious who's available to protect. I guess the converse is, it seems rough on the Spawn. Are we going to be able to see that they're active, and then exhausted? That seems to make it way too easy to spot them.
I remember there is soemthing they can do in the rules if they forgo all actions, I wonder if they did that night 1? |

We won't know if they're spawn being exhausted from their public activity or their night attacks though (I think). Yes, presumably the spawn last night either did their mutate attack on someone or made a spawn overlord (those being the most likely options in my mind), or else their attack(s?) failed. |

They could have elected a spawn queen, or put cycles towards reforming the overlord.
As far as statuses, the exhaustion and dehydration statuses have been used before to try to catch people, but if I recall correctly, barkeep has built in mechanics in the background that keep that from working...otherwise, all we would have to do was not drink for one day and see who is not dehydrated, then vote them. |

So for our away teams today, I'm thinking something like the following unless there are objections:
Water team: Zinto Schmidty 3 slaves Mining team: (unsure about officer yet) Britrock mauboy Shiggles 1 slave For the officer on the mining team we have the following options: A. LSG - Probably the most logical choice, unless we would rather have her assign someone to the medic position. B. Autumn - He's exhausted, so that may negatively impact our chances for success. C. Me - Downsides are we don't really want to expose me to chances of being mutated even with low odds and we may need my actions for ordering no-shows, upside is it let's Autumn plan more missions and LSG make someone a medic. Seeing as we have no damage to repair, that frees us for some conversion work today. We should be able to knock out W3 and then work on whatever area we want to do next, possibly the crew quarters? BK, if crew quarters are converted, does that mean only a certain number of people can sleep at night? |
