I kind of want to poke around and possibly find something to shoot, but just to make sure we get the numbers I will help Decode this book.

So Crimson, my patient, how are you feeling today? I'm looking over your chart and trying to determine some of your vitals. I can't make out this number here. Based on 50% max HP Healing - and I think you were admitted with HP of 5/10 - I think your numbers should have returned to 10/10. Does that sound about right to you?

I assume I'm out of jail now. Based on NTN being jailed, I'm guessing our sheriff is simply going through the roster trying to find railroad men.
The night attacks are basically random and under the control of NPCs, and Abe, as far as we can tell. So they're not going to give us much information in terms of finding bad guys in game. Sorry to see you go, Chief. Damn die rolls. Clearly we've lost ground because we didn't accomplish our quest that day on the estate, Abe's hinting we lost items that would have helped us. Let's try to cover everything today. Sounds like patients should be working on decoding. Who needs healing? I can convalesce somebody. |

And...while it's, I suppose, POSSIBLE that random.org supplied the targets for last night's firefight, I think we also have to concede the possibility that a cultist has indeed spawned, and they get to target people.
I'm going to assuming myself and Zinto were drawn in randomly, but my guess is Rum was targeted. |

Anyone have the count? Seems like a lot of decoders. We want the antiquarians and anyone who's going to be healing on that one.

My two cents is decoding is more important than searching because we know how many we need to succeed with decoding and it seems likely to provide us with something useful, whether it's a breadcrumb towards another quest to complete or some knowledge we can use. Meanwhile we have reason to suspect there's something else at the estate but we don't know how many we need there to succeed. So hopefully the next two people to hop on go decode and then hopefully Britrock will show up to finish that task.

I agree with this. We know Cultists are doing something at night so I don't think it's a stretch to think the attack wasn't random. Here are the presumed Cultist actions since the game has started: N0: Jacob killed (NPC) D1: Jacob's body taken (NPC) D1: Flood sent to village (NPC) N1: Nothing as far as we know (maybe no Cultists? Maybe Cultist(s) preparing for next night action?) N2: Attack of the dead slimy people (NPC? PC?) N3: Attack on Chief Rum (NPC? PC?) N3: Typer estate burns down (NPC? PC?), loss of decoding book It's possible Cultists are doing things behind the scenes to make things more difficult for us, but those are the outward signs of roadblocks put in our way to this point. All we really know is that they have night actions they can take and these are the things that have mostly happened at night to us. |

The injured people are:
Danny (4/6) Simbo (8/10) Coffee (9/12) I presume CF and I are both out and healed based on Abe's comments from yesterday, unless I misunderstood (which is possible), though I'm unsure if Chief's death affects my healing. |

No not talking about Britrock. I'm saying we definitely have a cultist in our midst because a second person went to jail. There is no doubt now. Brit is just crazy because he failed his roll. |

Simbo is at 9 I think, not 8.
Autumn if anyone should be healed it should be Danny with his 4 hp. These attacks are pretty vicious. |

I don't think that's necessarily the case. Unfortunately there's also the wrinkle of the railroad company and whatever that all means. The sheriff might be working that angle, not the cultist angle. That said, I don't know the odds, but it would be surprising to me if we didn't have a cultist or more at this point. |

I don't really think the railroad thing is anything more than a mechanism that prevents the sheriff from being able to lock up anyone in the game. I don't believe it's mentioned anywhere else in the rules but in their role.
And yeah, I certainly believe the sheriff has been converted (which is what I believed yesterday too). These lock ups do not appear to have value to the village since cultists can do their night actions in jail anyway and it's preventing us from using the jailed people on quests. |

You're right, I mixed up the Convalescence rules (cultists in Convalescence can do their night actions) with the Sheriff rules (cultists in jail apparently cannot take night actions). So that said, I take back my comments about the Sheriff being for sure converted. |

I could have sworn I saw more about the railroad people somewhere in the rules, but now i can't find it. Maybe it's just a limit on the Sheriff, but I would guess that it's more than that. Given what we have in the rules, I guess it is more likely the sheriff's a cultist, but there's so much we dont' know yet I don't want to consider that certain.
And CF, the only thing I think we do knowis that I can't be in the employ of the C&O since I was jailed. |

Here is the part in the sheriff role that talks about people employed by the railroad:
"However, 25% of people in the game are privately in the employ of the C&O railroad, and you cannot incarcerate them at all. If you try to do so, then you will get a pm back saying it failed because you checked the latest payroll documents first, and they were added and you can’t imprison them. " So, Autumn and NTN are not employed by the railroad |

Unfortunately we've lost a doctor and two of our others don't seem to be around. Hopefully at least two will show up to heal those others. Doesn't seem like a dangerous quest today, but who knows.

If Danny shows up, he can't go search the house if he's in Convalescence Autumn, so probably not ideal to put him in right now, in the event he shows up in 10 minutes. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter though.

Oh I see, I missed the second part of that. That's a good loophole that we can just put them in after the Quest. Thanks, JAG.
