Man Holiday's season has fallen apart. He was so good to start the year but hasn't hit a jumpshot in forever and has been making turnovers that he's never made in his career.

I'm not a fan of the "foul if you're up by 3" line of thinking, but it is a good strategy.

Until February he was shooting 35% from the free throw line and was not on the court in the final minute or two of games, maybe he doesn't have enough experience in late game situations. He's my favorite player this year, defensive player of the year in the ACC, he is an incredible shot blocker and rebounder. He needs to bulk up a bit as Barkley mentioned during halftime. Only Henson gets his hands on that inbounds pass that created the turnover a couple plays ago, but DEAR GOD WHAT WAS HE THINKING.

Romar needs to ask for the review for the extra time at the end even if the officials don't do it on their own.

good game. I'll go back to your point on selection sunday, why was the pac 10 tournament winner playing in the east. Why was temple out west and washington out east.

Also holy crap how did no one think to review the amount of time left at the end?

If Washington has any sort of post game next year they are going to be good. Just not sure where the post play is going to come from unless they can pick off another big guy from somewhere late in recruiting. Overton blowing 2 of the last few possessions shows just how much they've missed Abdul Gaddy since he was lost for the year. If there's one thing you can count on its that Overton will play too fast at the end of the game.

Washington would've never got past Syracuse either but a rematch with Marquette would've been nice. Last years game was great.

So the officials told the Washington coaches they reviewed the time for the last shot. It probably wouldn't have mattered but wow.

If Michigan doesn't clean their game up the minute Duke gets hot it's going to be game over.

Yeah, it looks like a total mismatch. Duke looks just to be toying with Michigan right now

I think Venoy's performance during crunch time was as simple as one sweet 16 being enough for him already this year.

Michigan reminds me of that West Virginia team from a few years back. Not that impressive to look at but find ways to play above their talent level.

The Pittsnoggle great 8 team.

I still don't know how Michigan got here. I figured we'd win 12 games before the season. Next year could be something special however, with everyone back, plus two incredibly athletic guards coming in.

I hate this sit someone with 2 fouls stuff they do. Morris needs to be on the court. If he fouls with 15 minutes left in the 2nd half its the same as getting down 10-12 here going into the 2nd half. In either case their chances arent good so just leave him out there and hope he doesnt foul out.

lol

so true, he really killed us by being so selfish. his drive with 11 seconds left was terrible. Slow it down, set up a play and have some composure. Even if he drives there and makes it we are giving them back the ball with 7 seconds left. He has zero awareness of game situation.

Been some talk that one or both of the Oklahoma recruits might end up back in play if Capel is let go.

Going to be fun to see Gaddy back, Ross and Wilcox with a year under their belts, Suggs as a Senior and IT in his last shot at getting the UW past the Sweet 16. N'Diaye needs to work on his hands and feet to reduce his turnovers and fouls, Gant needs to step up as a Senior leader and hit the boards, and hopefully Simmons will have the strength and will to bang inside. Should be a very entertaining team to watch, but oh what might have been had they landed Pelle or Chol...

I've heard nothing to the contrary. He's obviously highly talented, but he still needs some work. I would guess if he progresses as expected, he'll have a strong Sophomore year and be a serious candidate to leave after next season.

While it wouldn't surprise me if he decided to go to the draft camps I don't see any way him leaving would be anything but a huge mistake. Ideally he works on his defense this off season, tests the waters after next year then leaves as a junior.

It is as if there was some directive to call fouls with 5 seconds left in the game/ half

Shhhh!

Edited to add: I wouldn't be too worried. Syracuse has a breakout tournament run once every 10 years, but the reality is that Boeheim is like 4-53 in the Sweet 16.

I will out reverse-jinx you! UNC probably cannot shoot 30% from the floor against a zone team like Syracuse. Passes around the perimeter every possession, turnovers from frustration and by the end of the game Zeller and Henson will be taking 3's b/c they can't get a look inside. Syracuse wins by 25.

Well, there's two things - the refs screwed the UW out of 0.7 seconds on that last possession, and missed the goaltending on IT's shot. The latter wouldn't have mattered given that IT had his foot on the 3-point line, but they should have had a little more time to set up a shot than what they were given, and the fact the refs wouldn't go to the monitors to verify is head-scratching.

The head of officiating came on and said that the clock stops at the whistle when the refs signal that the ball went out of bounds
