Ambivalence is perhaps the word of the day until its end, when things get wild. In the end it is Swaggs who is brought down by the maelstrom of late votes. He is taken down, oh so easily.
However, that is when the true horror begins as Saldana, Golden Eagle, Lathum, and Alan T rise up as one and strike down the remaining villagers, before attacking the magical barriers which quarantined them. They had infiltrated the city and now it is time for them to reap their demonic reward. Thanks to everyone who played. I have some definite opinions about how the game was played but want to hear what everyone thought because I'm always looking to improve my games. Thanks again to everyone for participating. |

I though it seemed unbalenced but we did get very lucky with our items. I give barkeep credit for not altering the game even though we seemed to be running away with it

Thanks for the game, I really enjoyed it Barkeep.
I am curious about some of the items and how they were used.. ie: other than Path we never really saw much from the wolf scanners and I knew of at least 3 of them in the game (were there more?). The crystal ball we never heard from either. it was like losing the seer night 1. Also there seemed like a ton of wolfbane necklaces and leafs out there. I knew of at least 2 wolfbane leafs and 5 wolfbane necklaces out there.. how many were real necklaces vs fake necklaces... Were we just really extremely lucky on our conversions, or was there that many out there? It seemed like there was a ton to undo us, but it never was used, or never got in our way after day 1. |

You list only 1 necklace and 1 false necklace, but I know both GE and Saldana had false necklaces, and I passed Ardent a necklace the night I got another one. So did more come into the game as we went? I think we got really lucky that we ended up with alot of the scanners, the silver knife and a ton of the leafs |

Good game, wolves.
Night 2 - Pass and I both had wolf scanners. Did I tip my hand that I had the item earlier in the day? I tried to sound like I was coaching someone else on how to play, as opposed to sounding like I had that item. I was very suspicious of Lathum by the end of that Day and would likely have gone after him, but NTN was the second person I suspected at that time. When I was dead on Night 2, I wondered if people would ask about Alan continuing to be alive on Day 3 and certainly on Day 4. But that never seemed to come up - everyone knows he never lasts past Day 3!!! I'm curious to hear why people kept passing items instead of using them. BK, do you have a night action recap that you can post? |

GE got saldana's necklace after he was converted. You started off with the real one, passed it to AE who passed it back to you. The necklaces didn't leave the game when they were used. Last edited by Barkeep49 : 06-29-2007 at 10:48 PM. |

like lathum said, we got lucky with the items too....we got one of the scanners when we killed hoops, so i used it on alan to get it out of the game...lathum got the silver knife when we killed pass, so no one ever got a chance to use it

you didnt tip anything Hoops, we just figured getting rid of you would be a good idea, and since ardent and path had established a little COT, we figured anyone with a leaf or necklace would pass it to one of them, leaving you vulnerable |

Good game. Having the items give all the powers was a cool/different idea.
In hindsight, I think the wolves kind of caught a break even when cronin got lynched, because AE and path still seemed a little shady to me after that whole exchange. |

Agreed. Especially with two double kill nights available and then the knife out there, as well. With 15 players, I certainly didn't fathom that we'd be near endgame on the Day 4 lynch, after getting a wolf on Day 2. |

Just the fact you could get very lucky with the conversions is disappointing. Might as well made it where we could all be converted.

Alan was not on my radar at all. GE and Lathum were, not that it mattered.
Good game wolves. Barkeep, I enjoyed the items and the game. I think it was more a matter of favor of the random number gods than unbalanced.

I ended up with two Item Destroyers (1 start, 1 from LSG). But anyone who was going to give me something was not going to be something we likely would have wanted to destroy.
I was passing the pardons to Ardent and Render tonight.

The crystal ball and item detector weren't ever really utilized. The single biggest goal of the villagers should have been finding the false wolfbane necklace but there was no real discussion of that. The wolves were given a double kill to balance out the two pardons and the fact that when the game started there was a 1 in 3 chance that their first night attack would fail, because of the wolfbane leaves. It would have been higher had Alan not started with the real necklace, but if luck hadn't gone that way it would have been a 44% chance that their first attack would fail. Frankly, I think the wolves figured out the items much quicker than the villagers. Perhaps that was due to their being able to safely brainstorm privately, but there was never any real public talk about how items should be used. Even doing after the fact discussing of items failed, which I was surprised about. To me the wolf you caught, cronin, shows the peril for the wolves. AE had drawn the suspcion, but through skillful playing was able to get cronin nailed. |

I'll admit I was snowed by Alan today. I was going to watch Lathum tonight with the ball.
At least I can say I tried my best. That's the best I can ask for in a game like this.

I would love, of course, suggestions about specific tweaks as while I might not ever run this game again (though I could), it still helps me gain a better feel. I am hearing pretty loudly some frustration from the villagers and want to try and figure out how much was/is luck and how much was imbalance, so it doesn't happen again.
