Not really. The rankings fluctuate quite a bit early on. They're based quite a bit on name recognition and last year's performance rather than current team performance, so things go a little wacky early on, especially during Feast Week when so many teams are playing in tournaments. |

It will be an interesting game. Probably come down to whichever team can stay out of foul trouble as neither team plays with a deep bench. If Craft or Thomas have to sit for extended periods in Cameron then Uh Oh. I expect Duke to win at home though. Last edited by Scoobz0202 : 11-26-2012 at 10:07 AM. |

I just want to know where the fuck the Official 2012-2013 College BB thread is. I don't have time for all this unofficial shit.

I wish Howland completely sucked in all ways. It would make it a lot easier to just dismiss him and move on. But he has the Final Fours, and brings in good looking recruiting classes and his teams still play better than Lavins. Sigh...
I really hope we don't have to wait for the end of the season to get this done.

Some information related to the Dixon suspension. Most believe the info was pushed out to force the chancellor to make a decision quickly now that charges are not being filed.

Nice run by Indiana to the end half there. UNC's athletes will be fun to watch but damn they are young and take a lot of poor shots very very early in the shot clock. Watching Cody Zeller run the floor makes me miss his brother.

Between the transition hoops and the 4-5 guys cutting along the baseline, it feels like UNC should be able to make some halftime adjustments to slow IU down. But I don't think they will be able to sustain that shooting. Fun game to watch. |

It is truly a joy to watch IU play ball. What an unselfish team. If this team were together a few years ago, I'd say that it's a throwback to an earlier era. But the game is changing back to a pass-first, team-offense venture. I love it.

Totally agree. This team is such a joy to watch. Unselfish play, relentless offense and defense. Deep bench. And we don't even have Hanner Perea or Jurkin yet. Or Elston. Imagine when Cody can play and not worry about fouls so much. Last edited by Kodos : 11-27-2012 at 11:37 PM. |

I really like Crean. He's an excellent recruiter and his brand of basketball fits Indiana. Reminds me of a younger, less volatile Bobby Knight.

I did not get to watch the NC State / Michigan game, but they showed a play on the local news this morning from the end of the game that I'm curious if anyone else knows more about. Apparently State was clawing back into it, down 75-70 at the 45 second mark after a 12-2 run, when CJ Leslie was called for an offensive foul while backing his man down to the basket. I only caught the brief glimpse, so I have no idea if it was legitimate or not, although it looked like a typical play I see all the time that's never called (and actually one of those I think should be called far more often), one Shaq made a career out of in the NBA. Did anyone else see it? Legit, consistent with the way the refs had been calling the game, or a gift to the home team?

Leslie threw an elbow into him. It wasn't very hard and it created a little bit of extra space. I was surprised to see it called in real time, but upon replay it was a foul.

Well, i didn't expect the Hoosiers to play that well, but it was damn fun to watch. That 10 minute stretch from 31-31 on was as good as this team can play.
Zeller certainly doesn't look sick anymore! So many guys played great.

It is such a luxury to have quality depth. Watford's not playing well? Send in Sheehey! Having just gone through seasons where depth was a huge problem, it is so nice to have solid players come off of the bench.

Iowa got beat up by VPI.
We were down huge, made a run and got within 3 in the 2nd half and then faded away to lose big. Need another year Im afraid. |

I'm sure he'll continue the fine tradition of UCLA transfers to UNLV who then break out with the Runnin' Rebels.

Drop it man. Seriously. You have one good year in forever and its negativity for Wisconsin in all ways cuz I said shucks. Aww boohoo.
Wisconsin will still be a good team. They're still trying to find an identity which Indiana did not need to do this year as they've been gelling since last year. Indiana fans or at least you and a few others I know really let it get to their heads pretty quickly once you get any success again. |

WTF Take up 20 seconds down 4 with 25 seconds left. Really Badgers do you have not a person that can create his own shot. Wow!

Well that sucked.. I may update my thoughts on yet another top four finish for the badgers this year. If they can't win at home against uva then we won't have the mystique yet again at the kohl center like we didn't last year.
As it stands right now I think the b1g will be Indiana Michigan Osu Msu Minnesota And then pick em the rest of the way... Should still be good enough for a tourney appearance and if dekker and Marshall can turn into something and we can start trying to create some offense without dribbling around the perimeter for 25 seconds. |

That guy was unfortunately on the bench in dekker. Gasser would have helped in that situation but he's out with a torn acl. Yuck yuck yuck for sure. Not sure why Berggren is standing out there as he has no handles out there to create own shot so yeah. Pathetic last 25 seconds.

The NCAA is slated to release their findings on Myck Kabongo tomorrow. Word is that he will receive a 10 game suspension, backdated to the beginning of the season. His first game back would be on 19th against North Carolina. He'd miss the upcoming games against Georgetown and UCLA.

Ah, looking at your profile I finally get who you are.. you find a vendetta someway somehow to hate a specific team and root against them for really no logical reason. Favorite team: "Whoever is playing the Cowboys.." You may as well add "Whoever is playing Wisconsin" now, too. SO petty. hah.

Kindof like your vendetta against Tom Crean. What, upset because he accomplished more at Marquette than anyone has accomplished during our lifetimes at Wisconsin?
Reasons I root against Wisconsin: 1. You 2. Bo Ryan is an asshole, and his teams are borderline unwatchable 3. Bret B is also an asshole Those seem like some good reasons to me. Last edited by Kodos : 11-28-2012 at 08:56 PM. |

Annoying State fan is complaining up a storm again in regards to how State is playing. I think at worst Michigan splits with them this year and it could be 2-0 Michigan. Odd to think in a three year period Michigan could be 5-1 against Izzo lead teams.
RE: NCState foul A live replay made it look rather questionable.

Surprised Ohio State is sustaining their lead with Thomas on the bench for the most part and Craft now with two fouls. And with the free throw attempt discrepancy. Love the spacing, rebounding, hustle the Buckeyes are showing.

Illini missed eight foul shots in a row in second half, allowing Yellow Jackets to hang around longer than they should. Still up six with just under three to go, hoping that performance doesn't come back to haunt the team.

I think if Duke wins it will be 6-6. Assuming Penn State loses.

20 points and 17 boards from Plumlee. I don't catch as much Duke basketball as I used to, but it sure seems like that guy has improved a great deal each of the last two seasons.

Ohio State blew this one. Wrong players taking shots, and bad shots at that. Went from what looked to be a well-coached, disciplined team in the first half to erratic as hell.
e: Although, for being the first real challenge of the year a close loss in Cameron is one you can not be too disappointed in, but they could have had this one. Last edited by Scoobz0202 : 11-28-2012 at 10:37 PM. |
