I also have to say, if I were going to cheat, I would think I would be smarter than doing something THAT dumb when, well, this could have happened :P

Im sure someone will, but the fact you were messing with their threads at all is very bad in my mind...and the fact you went out of your way to attack ardent and say how your hands were shaking from attacks, to admitting you really were messing with their thread....its just leaves a bad taste in my mouth

I wasn't messing with their thread. It was just the post count -- that didn't really seem like part of the thread to me. Yeah, like I said, probably shouldn't have been doing that either, but I've always paid far closer attention to post counts than I should. And, well, um, if we're speaking of attacks...

I felt about the same as I did when sack decided to curse at me in WW41...I pretty much barely held myself back from smashing my keyboard on something.

Hell, I checked post counts once this game out of curiosity. Didn't really see the harm, but I guess I'll fess up to it.

Thats the thing...we cant prove if he didnt read their thread...we can prove he was involved with it, ardent has a screen shot he said. We dont know if tyrith is telling the truth. And why shouldnt he be pissed? Maybe because he did mess with their threads, did something he himself admits to be meta-gaming(which, like whos online and all that we STRONGLY frown upon here), and then wasnt up front about it. And he did that with all 4 threads by his own admission. Why should he be pissed when hes in the wrong, whether hes lying or telling the truth?

In this game, where the GM said only deal with the common thread and your thread. Dont look it, dont read, dont do anything with other threads. If you want to post-count your tribal thread, or the common...feel free. But post-counting the threads you have explicit orders not to mess with? Come on, a 5 year old would know not to do that(no offense path and tyrith)

And I'm going to go ahead and man up to the way I acted in this thread. I got a little too heated in the earlier part of this and I have to apologize to AE and to everyone else playing the game. This day should never have had to deal with this and I have to take responsibility for my part in it.

I chose them as i intended them, and i used them in defense of a good friend who was wrongfully attacked today. I see you have apologized, and thats great. But i stand by my good friend ardent in this situation, even more so after you told your side of events. I wont say anymore on this matter and defer to barkeep. You will at most get scolded id imagine, but i stand by my comments. Dont try to threaten my tyrith, with you im already on a short leash from last game.

Yes, it very well could when it comes time to find wolves. The wolves have special interest in winning or losing certain challenges. Knowing whos doing what in the PRIVATE threads could be of extreme use to both the wolves and good. They are private for a reason

The losing teams have to vote off one of their own...we had to do it yesterday. You can imagine that the wolves might wish to dicate which teams had to vote off their own, and which teams got immunity from wolf attacks(and a great reason why they werent night killed). Its fairly simple, winning/losing challenges will be a great key for the wolves.

For what it's worth, I did check the post count for my tribe's thread, and it had me as viewing that thread even though I was in the main forum.

All fair enough. It is indeed something outside of the traditional WW mainstream. I tried to come up with a variety of different challenges that go in different directions. Some are obviously going to be more successful than others. It was an experiment and when everything's been done at the end, I'll be very interested to hear if it was a success or failure. Still reading. I've been assured that there's something interesting. |

Tyrith's initial reaction I think was in really poor form. AE is one of my favorite FOFCers. Even if we weren't teammates, I'd have his back in this particular case.

Damn I wish I could play so i could respond to how immature these guys are acting. And Barkeep, for what its worth, this game must have been extremely hard to put together and I appreciate all the work you did to make this enjoyable for us. I wish I could have played till the end.

Ok breaking out my Forum Mod color. If someone had asked me, "Is it alright if I check out the post count in another thread, I'd have thought about it and likely said OK. I don't think ANY of us knew that would show someone as in the thread itself. So then we have a situation where AE knows, correctly, that Tyrith is in a thread. AE, being AE, doesn't hold back and comes out blasting. Tyrith finds himself suddenly faced with being accused of doing the one thing that everyone had agreed, not just me but several of the other players, was completely wrong. Tyrith knows he didn't cheat and is facing AE's statement somewhat bewildered, and probably a little defensively. I'll say right now I don't like it when players go after each other personally. Clearly that happened here. I thank Tyrith for apologizing for his mistake and his reaction. I want to talk with Tyrith and AE a little via-PM before posting anything else. I do think that this serves as an important reminder to all about not letting the game get personal. Intense is great and why we play and keeping it in check is always a battle. ~Barkeep49, Your Friendly WW Mod |

It's not like you didn't know you were viewing the post count. You should have manned up right away instead of getting all defensive. I'm not saying your reaction is completely crazy, I'm just saying that I know AE a lot better than I know you, and that counts for something. |
