I think it is silly people are making a big deal of the sweatshirt color he was wearing. How many of us have sweatshirts, etc...from our alma mater? Most I would say.

Now all we need is one more defensive end to possibly have the best D-line in football

Kendall Langford has left Cincy sans contract and is on his way to St. Louis.

Disappointing. Signing him would have been an upgrade over Fanene/Rucker.

Pretty crazy, IMO.

Unless the "for life" part means "You get paid $20k for showing up at each charity event we run", why would Manning tie himself down like that?

Ya, I don't get how the "for life" thing is a benefit to anyone but the Titans. Manning's not going to be desperate for a job when he retires. It's sounds like something you'd offer a player in the 1950s before they were multi-millionaires. Maybe you set 'em up with your car dealership so they can support their family when their playing days are over.

One of the more underrated elements of twitter is the absolute disgust and utter disdain for Darren Rovell.

Mr. Sports Journo@BIGSPORTSWRITER
You fucking hack. RT @darrenrovell: Every 36 hours Mario Williams will make $39,335. Buffalo's median yearly household income is $39,500.

I don't know if one incident started it - I think it's just a build-up of his d-bag persona.

That tweet I posted came at the end of an absolute crushing he got from Bomani Jones accusing him of fomenting resentment of athletes by posting stuff like that.

5 year, $45M contract, $20M bonus, base salaries of $5M each of the 5 years (I know that's not how it works but just as an example)

Cap hit would be $9M each year - $5M base + $4M/year spread bonus.

Uncapped year contract:

5 year, $45M contract, $5M bonus, $20M 1st year salary (uncapped year), $5M each of the last 4 years

Cap hit would be $21M in uncapped year, $6M each of the next 4 years.

I don't know - maybe there were specific rules prohibiting that kind of playing around that affected capped years going forward, but since they're not calling it a "violation," my guess is only 2 teams figured out a genius way to use the uncapped year to their benefit going forward, and the other 30 teams got pissed because they weren't so smart.

In FOF, contracts were not allowed to go down in later years of the deal. Not sure if that's still the case, with the new CBA and all.

The attractiveness of the Bucs job was the fact that Coach Schiano was able to come in and build *his* staff and bring in *his* philosophy and start to build around that philosophy with a clean slate. No old vets...no overpriced players that didn't fit his vision. Now he's got a bunch of young guys (still moldable) and vets FA's that he brought in. It's all making very good football sense.

He comes across like a d-bag a lot. Some of his tweets on money can be tacky. But I think what got it rolling was he created a bunch of rules about how you should act on Twitter. Then went around and DM'd people he felt were breaking them and telling them he was going to unfollow them and not allowing them to respond. Not regular Joes but other people in the media. Sort of creepy.

He does have a punchable face.

I follow hiim because he does tweet some interesting things. Yesterday at halftime of the Syracuse game, for instance, he tweeted that one of the betting sites had Syracuse as a 10.5 point favorite for the second half. They were down 4 and won by 7. That was pretty damn amazing, and I'm glad he tweeted it.

I duuno why our front office is dicking around with Wallace. He should have been franchised. Denver should be able to easily draft a offer that the Steelers can't match. I doubt they will even need a poison pill.

Thanks Cowboys for making sure MB can't bring back Livings!

And a bonus is that this makes it less likely the Cowboys will snatch DeCastro.

Pats sign Anthony Gonzalez. Welker and Gonzalez, plus Edelman if he returns gives them a lot of sneaky slot-type receivers.

Patsies should have used their late 1st for Wallace...Would have made Welker,Gronk and Hernandez a lot scarier...

I figure they should have Gonzalez for the preseason +- a game.

Everything I've seen is saying that this is just insurance in case DeCastro isn't there at 14. But with Al Davis Jr. in charge of the Cowboys who knows what the hell they're thinking.

Lloyd, who played with the Broncos and Rams last season, didn't hide the fact that he wanted to be reunited with Josh McDaniels, his head coach in Denver who now serves as New England's offensive coordinator. So I guess the deal for Lloyd was 3yrs $12mil total. If so, that's really not that bad, and does speak to him wanting to come to NE. So maybe he'll behave.

I can only hope.

What's going to happen to Lloyd if he is a pain in the ass? Belichick cuts him or trades him for 17 3rd round picks.
