He's on the radio here in Orlando. I just take it as one of the paybacks for no longer having to deal with snow and freezing rain.

The reason I thought about it is all those commercials during the NCAA tournament for his new CBS Sports Network show, plus word today on twitter that his radio show (again, I didn't even know he was still on radio) has been dropped in the KC market, and some people tweeting these "wow what a huge mistake!"-type messages. Just made me wonder if I've either been living under a rock or fell asleep for 15 years.

He used to be on the radio in Detroit on weekday afternoons from like 12-3 pm or something. I am not sure if he still is, since he recently jumped ship from ESPN to CBS. Never quite understood the appeal.

Listening to him sounds like trying to listen in on an exclusive show for jackasses. The whole show sounds like a bunch of people trying to be too cool for the rest of us.

I always had classified Tom Clancy books (even those where the book is written by someone else but Clancy sharing the byline) as kind of the literary equivalent of a popcorn flick. It's not high art, but it's fun, so shut up and eat your popcorn.
Until I got to the point where he had a character arrested for treason in one of his latest books. Which is cool. Except he KILLED THAT CHARACTER WITH A BRAIN ANEURYSM MULTIPLE BOOKS AGO. I'm not sure whether I'm angrier at Clancy, the ghostwriter, or the alleged copy editor at his publisher. I am sure that any future books under the Clancy brand have lost even their popcorn appeal for me. If Clancy and his publisher can't be bothered, neither can I. |

I've always thought he was the sports radio mentor for Dane Cook's comic stylings. Like there's some inside joke I'm not cool enough to be in on, and they're too busy backslapping each other to realize it ain't all that funny.

Turned 40 today. I got an e-mail giving me ways to help avoid getting shot down for a job due to my age. Thanks, Career Builder.

$160. No Kindle. Since I kind of already splurged on board games and had some extra costs recently, it will go into the bank. Either I'll get a Kindle Fire for myself or ask for one for Christmas. I literally have nothing left to ask for. Maybe I'll just start asking for specific board games.

I saw that one, too. Thought it might be an interesting topic and I really didn't have a good answer for the question. But, nope- like most career builder articles, it was insipid and insulting to my intelligence. Did you know that you should keep up with your computer skills (really?!? I never thought of that) and I know that the next thing 60 year olds want to do for that career is go back to school. That's totally practical 5 years before retirement. SI

The allure of a nice contract has put teaching in Abu Dhabi back on the table. Would double my current salary, but I would teaching solo.

I love watching Operation Repo and South Beach Tow. Guilty pleasures, sure, but showing some of the very worst of humanity.

No, not really. I haven't found Garfield to be funny since I was... OK, make that in 30 years.

You would be surprised to hear there is a movie called Zombie Ass: The Toilet of the Dead. You will not be surprised to hear it's from Japan.

She's listed at 4'10", but much like athletes, that number is devilishly exaggerated. Three apples high is closer to reality. Judging from her Facebook photos, she appears to do parties.

Some Apple reps came to our district today to show us iBooks Author and some other apps. Going to play around with making a short photography book that I can use for teaching in England this summer.
Also discovered a couple of iPad apps that allow you to take over your PC and use it as a whiteboard. Anyone have any experience with Splashtop or Doceri? Reviews seem to lean toward Splashtop, but wanted to see if anyone knew anything about either. My daughter has an iPad for school to help her with her visual disability. My wife has one. After today, I really want one now. |

Some days I feel like being able to do a Caucasian version of Chris Rock's "Niggas vs. Black People" called "Rednecks vs. Caucasians." No other group of Caucasians are so proud of being within their own group. I don't care how well you handle your "bit-ness." Learn to sound like you actually graduated from high school.
