He's going to end up in fucking Washington when all is said and done and my baseball life will continue to suck.

That seems strange to me. Took a team that was "one year away" to 91 wins out of nowhere, has a WS ring, and 'nah, see ya'?

The Lerners have shown no inclination towards paying for a manager. They were too cheap to get Bud Black. Unless they change course quickly, there's going to be some low level bench coach falling asleep in the dugout instead of Duhsty next year.

He'd been there 10 years and seemed stuck in his ways. Looks like Cashman recommended a change to improve the relationship with the players. Maybe they want someone younger since the team is trending that way.

I think Roberts needs to re-think this situation and start Kershaw tomorrow night. Tie the series up and have him available for a possible game 7.

Can he not go on 3 days rest? Its not like the Dodgers really stress him out during the regular season as he is usually done right around 100 pitches.

Not sure they can really afford to do it, especially after the bullpen was so taxed today

Well the hope is Kershaw will give you his 7 great innings. Bring in Jansen and tie it up. IF Kershaw were to get a high pitch count you could use Wood in relief.

Im confused as to why teams went away from having their ace start games 1,4,7.... That is a HUGE advantage when you have the best pitcher in the game.

Cant think off hand, but I'd imagine the numbers probably dont favor Kershaw on short rest in the postseason

If it's bad enough to be suspended next year, it's bad enough to miss the rest of the World Series this year.

Houston Astros' first baseman Yuli Gurriel won't be suspended for any World Series games following his gesture and comments about Los Angeles Dodgers' pitcher Yu Darvish

Bellinger finally got a hit. He and Seager are the modern day, McGwire and Canseco from '88.

My prediction is that the Dodgers take a 3-2 series lead Sunday night, with Kershaw going.

This will set the stage for a dramatic game 6 in LA.
Houston will pull out all the stops, but LA will prevail ultimately.

This series has been spectacular.

Also, Nats will announce their new manager tomorrow, Dave Martinez. I had him second to Alex Cora on my wishlist and it sounds like the Nats did as well. Cora wanted to go to Boston so Martinez came in and got a 3 year deal with an option for a 4th.

Where last night the strike zone was huge, tonight, it's mind boggling-ly inconsistent. Literally every single pitch might be a ball or a strike and where it ends up at really doesn't matter. I think it's a big part of the frustration that the pitchers for both teams are having.

Honestly, MLB should be embarrassed. Some of these aren't even close. On both sides.

I thought strike zone was atrocious last series for Lester and Hendricks relative to the calls that Dodger pitchers were getting. Credit the Astros for creating a lot more consistent pressure on the LA staff and denting the legend of Dave Roberts, pitching whisperer.

Failure upon failure upon failure.

It's nice for the Astros to send their team off to LA. At least they'll have this moment to remember when LA wins 2 in a row.
