Do we want FB? I'm finding scant info so far.

There's a three day demo you could mess around with some. And there's a couple strategy threads around that we could look up.

I guess I'm more worried about finding the history of the series. When did it come out, how many versions have there been, reviews of the series, etc.

Of course, if there's another sim not mentioned we can try and switch to that -- but our most experience is FM, so that doesn't help. I've played Puresim, and dabbled a little bit with BBCF.

I don't know much about FB or MF, but from the sounds of things MF seems terrible, it might be easier to write an article about, one with strong opinions.

The problem with MF is how to be objective with something that is so horrible (and I speak from hearsay; I don't own the game).

I'll check the website and see what shows up there. From what I remember all the updates are listed on the front so that gives us an idea of versions. There was a thread on FOFC where the designer was talking about working on a new version, we could use that. I don't remember the forums there having a lot of information, but there could be some FAQ's or something that might give us something to work with. I'm with you though about MF. I have no idea what to say about that.

I guess if it comes down to it, we can e-mail the designer of FB and ask him questions for stuff we can't find. I'm sure he would want the series to have an accurate page on wikipedia.

Actually, I wonder if this would be a violation of the rules. I would like to get a ruling from Barkeep before we announce we are taking this topic. Everyone else has already chosen, so it's not like we have to rush or anything. |

Good idea. I won't be able to do much until later anyway.
Any thoughts what the RA shocker might have been? Could he have been the seer? Bodyguard? Wolf?

I have no idea what the shocker is. If he claimed to be a wolf, I think Oz would have told us that. Maybe he said he was the seer, but why would he do that? I'm thinking it's probably a ploy by the members of Oz to make us think that RA was something when he really wasn't. Their thinking might be that if the wolves think the seer is out of play, they'll leave Oz alone.

Could be. I'm just having trouble seeing the value in bluffing right now. It's not like there have been any night kills or anything like that.
I'm actually wondering if the wolves can't kill until the tribes are merged.

I'm starting to think that the bad thing that happened to Swaggs is that he's now a wolf. His attempt yesterday to convince his team that he could be helpful came across as trying to avoid being voted off by his team. And from what I can see, it looks like he helped in pushing the vote towards Blade, which I think really hurts their team.

Yeah, I think their goal is survival and sabotage until the merge.

JE, sorry for bailing earlier. That leverage comment put me over the edge.
So we've got a wolf. I definitely have a hunch who, but it's probably not best to put out in the open yet.

We have to do a wiki page on a sim. The choices we have are MF and Fast Break.......or any other except FM/CM and EHM. FOF, OOTP and text sims in general have already been taken. Problem is that JE and I are FM players mostly, and Marathoner FOF.

I've never played BBCF, but the topic has to be either MF or the FB series.

The thing I kind of like about Fast Break is that it's a one guy operation with just the Fast Break games. I wonder if we do BBCF if we have to go into mentioning other games from Grey Dog.

The website I got it from didn't say anything about Grey Dog. But now that you mention it, I think he is working with them now on the new versions. I guess that may not matter anyway. The page would be on BBCF or Fast Break or whatever, not on Grey Dog. So if we want to go BBCF that's fine with me.

Are we going to do BBCF or FB? I'd like to get the demo and play around for a bit just to see what the game is like.

Are you more of a football or basketball fan? Make the call based on which you'd rather play -- we don't want you to load a demo you're gonna hate.

Dola, to clarify, college football. You can go with either pro or college with Fast Break.

I would refire up the BBCF demo but it's timed out on my computer now and I don't really plan to buy it.

I'm more of a football fan, but I don't know how much that matters. I wasn't a big soccer fan when I first started playing Championship Manager back in the day, but now I'm a huge fan of the sport.
I'll download the BBCF demo and see what it's like. |

You might want to give FBCB a shot then. I'm not really a basketball fan except during the tourney, but I'm finding it pretty intuitive and well paced. I've been having the AI help me out with depth charts and game strategy and haven't done too badly.

I also have no problem of my suggestion to alter your proposed bids being made public. If ihear from y'all tonight Iwill say something if not it will be late tomorrow before Ican get back on. remember my suggestion was not the lowest 3 but the 2 lowest and a third that was one buck higher. I don't know if that matters or not. It seemed that the main reason we lost is we went a middle way. either your idea of only a few bids of high value or my original idea of $2 everywhere but lowest that had $1 dollar would have kept us out of the dog house.

I hear you and I don't want you to think I'm throwing you under the bus. I'm just trying to get as much of the info out there as we can because I think with some of the information Helsing has we might be able to flush out one either on our team or theirs. And my day has really gotten crazy. I'm not likely to be here much today but will be where I can. Tomorrow should be better.

I didn't really think you were calling me out. Well not too much at least. (always a hint of doubt) I think on some level I have thought I had been targeted...which is my very paranoid reason for voting for Marathoner the first day. (thought his non playing early would have an effect and woulds counter a vote on me. Of course after I turned in my bid he came on and has been a big boon to Howard.) |

As a reminder, tribal council votes are due one hour from now.
Many of you seem to be looking closely at the previous challenge, and the possibility of "bid fixing" as a component of who to vote for today. Just how big of a factor is this in your vote? The biggest factor, a non-factor, or somewhere in between? Whether this is posted before the deadline is up or after, I'm sure our viewers will be interested in why you cast your votes the way you did. There is quite a bit of intrigue about which way this vote will go. |
