LA got an offensive board up 101-98 with about a minute left. Kickout to an open Artest who immediately launched a 3 with 20+ seconds on the shot clock. The second he caught the ball the entire stadium let out a "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" as they could see what he was about to do. He took the shot anyway and it was a horrible brick.

1) What I posted was fact, not theory.

2) At home, the Lakers shoot essentially the same amount of FT as their opponent. They were +2 going into this game. 29 to 27. On the road, the Lakers shoot 15 less FT than their opponent.The Suns shot 2 more FT than the Lakers usually give up at home. The Lakers shot 6 less than they usually get. If Nash hits FT, that split would have cost the Lakers the game, but it wasn't a monumental split either.

Do u think the suns almost won this game more then the Lakers almost choked it? The perimeter D seemed to be pretty decent but I think the lead was blown due to complacency more then the Suns played a great 4th quarter

So what's your mindset if you're Phoenix? Are you completely demoralized believing you had your shot and blew an opportunity? Or do you find a lot of encouragement in the fact that you showed a lot of heart and came back from a huge deficit to give yourself a chance to win (and in a building where you didn't play well in games 1 and 2)? If I'm the Suns, I would be taking pride in the comeback, but it's tough to say if all of them are thinking that.

I think the Suns almost won the game. Here is why:

The Lakers offense is NOT good. The Suns style plays right into their hands, but this is a team that will put up an under 20 point quarter or go 6 minutes without scoring. They've done that ALL year.

Hell, the Suns shouldn't have been in the game last night. JRich, Lopez and Barbosa all pulled no shows. . . Kobe, Pau, Odom and Fisher were ALL on their games. The Suns just kept plugging away and waited for the Laker offense to slide back to standard.

I think the Suns lost the series last night, but if they go into one of those "on fire" modes for two games, they still have a punchers chance.

i think it was worse - Rondo was flying through the air and defenseless. reddick was standing up and got shoved into the first row of seats, not down onto the floor (if it's the one i'm thinking of).

Even if I were to concede that was a foul (which I don't) my comment about the questionable foul calls on Howard would still stand because of his second one, where he took like four steps before touching a Celtic. That was really poor but it was a travel, not a foul.

Anyway, that's not why they're losing. Boston is playing smarter, tougher, and shooting better. Orlando was comprehensively outplayed in the first half. And this might be a more than four beer night at this rate.

Howard seems like one of those guys who intentionally goes just a little over the line and never gets caught on it because you can't determine intent. I'm sure everyone had a teammate like that in high school.

He also reminds me of Oguchi Onyewu in that he is so much larger than anyone else, his contact is exagerated.

Whatever you think of him, my favourite moment was Howard taunting the crowd down 18.

Really? I had confidence. But it was nice to see a return of the "games 1-3 celtics" in game 6. They'll need to play 4 more like that to win the title.

Haha - true.

And yes, I thought him taunting the crowd (it sure seemed like in jest, because he was laughing as he did) was funny.

His postgame press appearance was painful. Honestly, I feel bad for the guy. He seems like a really genuine, funny, awkward, nice guy, who really wants to win. And he certainly brought it in the majority of the games this series (including this one - 28 and 12) but he just can't do it alone.

Barbosa was just about the MVP for the Lakers tonight. Everytime the Suns looked like they were going to catch up in that 4th Q, Barbosa was there to ruin it with a bonehead play.

What a quarter by Dragic too. They should've probably kept him and Nash in the game rather than sub him out.

Trying to pick someone to root for in the Finals is a lot like trying to decide who to pull for if the Yankees played the Yankees in the World Series (and yes, that's actually what I meant to say).

For me that makes it a much less attractive matchup and I'll watch less because of it. I'd rather see Butler play Duke in the Finals where I have someone I can definitely cheer for, even if it's not a big name

Ayup, I am done watching basketball this season. I just can't deal with the idea of watching the only two teams in the league I truly and actively dislike playing for the championship. They've been far and away the best two teams all playoffs long though so they do deserve it, bleh!
