The squad gathers together, and after a lot of deliberation with several names thrown out there, finally decides on J23 as its lynchee today. After stringing him up and hanging him from the flagpole in the stadium, you check his locker, finding is completely stuffed with used razors. J23 was a wolf!

As you get ready for your next match, KWhit turns on the transparencies he always uses to diagram plays, and sees the following scribbled on the surface (not on a transparency itself, but on the surface, which is really hard to scrub off):

Player Report on J23 by Passacaglia

J23 is by far the best Full Back in the league. Placed there, he will be able to completely dominate the opposition, and support the squad very well. He’s decent at other positions, but his skills become much more apparent at Full Back.

If you are good, sorry J23. I mostly decided on you just because of a bad vibe from you earlier in the game and then in private talking to PurdueBrad, he also said you were one of two people he thought he would like to vote for as well. (The other being Telle).

After Jackal's reveal I basically flipped a coin between you and Telle and went with you since I was already sniffing that direction. I didn't intend to have everyone chase me. I just felt you were a better choice than Darth or lerriuqs.

Time for the next match! KWhit arrogantly refuses the deal offered by the opponent, saying, “We don’t need to change the rules to beat these guys!” He submits a lineup of 11 players, preparing for a full-length game.

Quote:
1 Goalkeeper - LoneStarGirl
2 Center Backs - AlanT, Lorena
2 Full Backs - Schmidty, lerriuqs
2 Central Midfielders - Lathum, PurdueBrad
2 Wingers - ~~~Telle, DaddyTorgo
2 Strikers - Darth Vilus, GoldenEagle

Unfortunately, before the match begins, the squad notices that another has fallen. Alan T is nowhere to be seen. As you all know, Alan T was the Jealous player!

Just before the match starts, you hear the following over the PA:

Player Report on Alan T by Passacaglia

Alan T is a hig-quality all-purpose player. While he’s more talented at Goalkeeper, Center Back, Full Back, and Striker, he is actually the best Central Midfielder on the team, and needs to start there.

With Alan T absent from his Center Back position, the team suffers. Darth Vilus and Schmidty still carry the team (and shared Man of the Match awards), but the squad is also held back by GoldenEagle. Upon hearing that he would start at striker, GoldenEagle was elated, and could barely contain himself, shouting out taunts to the opposition, his team mates, fans, blades of grass, etc. However, he was rubbish on the pitch, footing the ball to goal every time it came near him. Luckily, the squad managed to get a draw.

The skill levels, in descending order:

1. Darth Vilus, Stiker, 94
2. Schmidty, Full Back, 94
3. LoneStarGirl, Goalkeeping, 90
4. Lorena, Center Back, 67
5. lerriuqs, Full Back, 65
6. DaddyTorgo, Winger, 51
7. Telle, Winger, 29
8. PurdueBrad, Central Midfielder, 25
9. Lathum, Central Midfielder, 14
10. GoldenEagle, Striker, 2

Bench players:

1. claphamsa, 54
2. The Jackal, 46
3. JAG, 40

Total: 671
Result: Draw
Points: 3

Darth, and he came back good.

My only guess as to this result is that the wolves figured Alan would be in the lineup and that they were pissed at him for nailing two of them. Plus, I'm sure they assumed you guys would all lynch me today anyways if I was alive.

Since they feel pretty confident either way, they've decided to let KWhit make the decision as the game begins. If he chooses the shorter game, he will name 11 starters and no subs. If he chooses the 9-on-9 game, he will name 9 starters (1 GK, and 1-2 of every other position as he sees fit), and everyone else will sit on the bench as a sub. Either way, only 700 points will be required for a win.

Your next opponent offers KWhit the same deal.

Clap, open your mind. Alan with his feelings basically found us 2 wolves. How is it not just as valuable to kill him? You shouldn't make assumptions without good reason. If another seer comes out, we can re-evaluate, but that would be a blow to the wolves because they'd have to sacrifice one of their dwindling numbers.

I think we need to wait on going after The Jackal. He's already got a target on his head if another seer ever shows up. So let's keep him alive another day and see if he can net us a wolf. And we might just get lucky again tomorrow and lynch another wolf ourselves.

If I were an outsider looking in I would agree that someone who reveals as the seer and then doesn't get killed when there is no BG left is extremely suspicious, but to say there's 100% certainty is just foolish.

Alan was basically as good as a seer, and there was the added bonus of keeping the roster at 10 players. I'm still just as mystified that they did it. Except they had people like you to count on who would be hellbent that there's no chance I could be the seer.

come onjackyl, alan can be persuasive but the think that the wolves would fear his intuition over a seer is foolish.

There's also the chance that it was an anger killing. I know I've been a wolf before when one player in particular has pissed you off so much that you want them dead, especially when they are leading the village in good directions.

It's not unheard of for wolves to play misdirection like this - they took the chance I wouldn't scan one of them, and it's worked out. If you don't lynch me today they can kill me tonight, so all they've lost is me clearing Darth, and now other people will have to pick up Alan's mantle.

my thinking is this:

we already got a wolf yesterday. that's like a bonus.

i think we leave jackal alive until he either nets us a wolf or we get down closer to endgame at this point.

I'd agree with that - we have 14 players left with KWhit not counting. Therefore, we have either 11-2 or 10-3 to go. Leaving Jackal alive makes sense at this point.

The opposing keeper was playing out of his mind! I mean, I have seen super keepers in the footy games I play on the computer, but this guy put them to shame! I was hitting shots upper 90, lower 90, you name it. He was incredible! Too bad our scouting department will never spot the talent, we all know it is crap around here.

What do WW United and a triangle have in common? We both have three points, yea?

yeah.

either

a) he's a wolf but so are several others and we have time to try to find them

b) he's the seer and he'll either net us a wolf or else the wolves will start doing the math and realize they have less and less places to hide and end up killing him

GoldenEagle denies shopping at snorkeling store

WW United starlet GoldenEagle has denied window shopping at a local snorkeling store, despite photographic evidence linking him.

"It was not me," stated GoldenEagle, off to a slow start this season. "I am already a fantastic diver as is, why would I need any equipment, yea?"
