No arguments on the hints. Time is running out and we are struggling.

A quick note: this used to be the last puzzle until I re-ordered them. It says "final screen" and that is incorrect. Just pretend it says "next screen." Don't want any false hopes here.

BrianD has been neutralized. I wonder if that affected his final decision.
BrianD has posted the code that wins the pot for the team! (except that should be a 0 not an O, bwahaha) Seriously, though 0 or O either is fine. My count was 3 hints, so $35,000 is added to the group pot! I will post all the puzzles directly to the thread so everyone can see them with the solutions soon. |

I was tempted to take a shot at the exemption since I hadn't been "officially" neutralized yet, but I worried that I'd blow the exemption and the money at the same time. That would have sucked.

I love the fact that the exemption code is the USS Enterprise registration number.

Mission #8: The Evader
We are coming down the home stretch of the game now. Only five of you remain. Four true contestants, one impostor. The value of an exemption increases each time a player is eliminated. No player has received an exemption to this point, but that might change in our next mission. The next mission takes place in a maze. Throughout this maze are 8 green thumbprints. One player will be moving through the maze trying to gather these thumbprints. This player is called the evader. Also in this maze is one other player, called the hunter. The hunter's job is simply to catch the evader before he gathers 5 of the 8 thumbprints. Assisting the hunter, we have the remaining 3 players, the spotters. If the evader gathers 5 of the 8 thumbprints before being caught by the hunter, then the evader gets an exemption. If the hunter catches the evader, then the team earns $60,000. The evader is given: a map of the maze including thumbprint locations. Each turn he has a limited view of his actual surroundings. The hunter is given: a limited view of his actual surroundings each turn. The spotters are given: a full map of the maze including thumbprint locations and a chance at seeing the location of the evader each turn. The spotters may assist the hunter in deciding on his moves without using any graphical depictions. Words only. The hunter moves slightly faster than the evader due to the evader trying to stay hidden. The evader may move between 1 and 3 squares per turn, while the hunter may move between 1 and 4 squares per turn. Consequently, the evader can remain undetected 25% of the time in the white zones of the map and 50% of the time in the yellow zones of the map. The yellow zones are in areas of decreased visibility due to distance from the central tower or shadows from the tower itself. Based on your lists, you have voted that the player you would most like to win is BrianD. The player you think is not the mole is Passacaglia. Therefore, the evader for this mission is BrianD and the hunter is Passacaglia. The other three players are the spotters, samifan24, path12, and Thomkal. We will get started on this mission tomorrow when I will send out everything each player needs to get started. |

congrats Brian and Pass for winning that one for us. Sorry I was of no help and sorry for the neutralize Pass.
Ah the dreaded Maze mission from many of the Mole shows I've seen. Should be fun. Hopefully i will do a better job for us on this one. |

Brian actually won it for us -- I was only able to stick around long enough to neutralize him. I guess that helped, though, since without that, he would have just taken the exemption. Anyway, this mission sounds cool! Let's take an exemption away from him again! |

I got the last puzzle, but was having trouble with the playing cards, the boat and the skiiers. Sadly we weren't all on at enough of the same times to make the neutralizing game as fun as it could have been. I guess it was effective enough to make sure money got into the pot. As far as this next challenge goes...you guys are going to have to come and get me. I want that exemption. |

Some notes about the upcoming mission:
1) The graphics will be sent via PM. Sorry if it gets a little spammy. 2) Communication between spotters and hunter is done in the thread. Remember the evader can see all of your communication. 3) Private messaging is forbidden during this mission. All communication is public. 4) The pot will be penalized if a spotter tries to use graphic representations of the positions. Definitely do not link to the graphics you were sent or otherwise try to graphically demonstrate concepts. Word descriptions only. Think of it as radio communication with the evader listening in. 5) You will be notified each time the evader picks up one of the green thumbprints. If he gets 5, game over. |

Alright, the first items have been sent. The first move is up to the evader. Your moves must be N, S, E, or W. The colors on your maps are:
Red=Evader Blue=Hunter Black=Impassable wall White=Open area(highly visible) Yellow=Open area(low visibility) Green=Thumbprints(evader's goals) The evader's first roll is a 1 so he may move 1 space. After turn 1, your rolls will be included in your PMs instead of in public. Oh yeah, it would be a good idea to send me your moves via PM, especially for the evader. The hunter may do either. He is northwest and you are pretty much in the center, there are a core of walls in the middle of the maze.

I don't want to say anything about fingerprints, but will just note that they are spread throughout.

Nice, path. I think I'd like to see the spotters guard the areas around the three thumbprints that are nearest to the NW corner. How big of an area are we dealing with, anyway?

I don't know that I want to say right now. I think it's better for both of you not to know than have Brian know.

My understanding is that my map will be revealed in pieces...I'm assuming that meant I only get to see a radius around me. I haven't actually gotten a map yet and have informed our host of the fact. Because of this, it may be a bit before the first move.
