It should probably only be four blokes winning anyway -- wasn't five the number, only if there were 20 players?

I think it should be an American Idol sign off...

I mean, please, I would rather you let the other guy win, rather than destroy the last Champion spot by cutting it in half!

Hard to say. A lot depends on how much more XP wizards/artificers need to level.
Of course, if I die today the question is obviously moot. |

I would say that there isn't anything that can beat me now, but I'm just too far behind on xp to make a dent.

You had the class, you had the race, you had the right spell selection, you had the items, you just dithered around too much after getting in front.

I really think DT, Thom, and I being together for so long hurt us. Sure, we survived - but we didn't all get individual battles which means we didn't get as much XP as we could have.

This document was 76 pages long, 35,000+ words long. There was a lot of time invested, but it was totally fun to run.
You folks were really really awesome and I could not have wished for a better crew.

I am now open for rule questions and stuff.
Some things that are behind the scenes and I might want to keep them there in preparation for a future game. Most of the stuff, though, I am happy to talk about.

I think The Jackal would likely have been top five if he hadn't missed a couple of days on the cruise, barring any deaths or anything like that

He did 30 to a gargoyle with a natural gladius, and then the garoyle is immune to the enticing, so it as just gladius against a 4th level monster. (mosters were classified as 1, 2, 3 or 4 based on what level they were found on)

Ah...I must have missed the fact that I couldn't ambush with the whip (and that is why I used the Gladius against the gargie then)
Hmm...oh well, I was too damn concerned with getting the prestige item that I wasn't worrying about my weapon (but damn, the prestige item was awesome)

One thing I found interesting was this. Many of the winners did not have decked out equipment.
Take KWhit for example. Warriors should have one advantage over everyone else - great AC. A warrior with +1 plate suit and +3 shield would have an AC of -3. You could get a lot lower than that with higher defense stuff. KWhit finished with +2 chainmail and a +1 shield. Danny had just a +1 shield. Poli had just +2 studded leather. They didn;t always go for the fancy upgrade of equipment. Danny had three weapons all game, Axe, +1 Axe, and Axe of Cleaving. KWhit didn't even try to audible out of his shield or armor which he got very early. They spent their money on other things, like potions, scrolls and such, instead of having the next best weapon or armor, and I think there is something to be said for that approach, and JAG was especially good at it.

Whips always had a 25% chance of stunning their foe, for those who wondered at that
