It was plain, I went there so my dad would eat healthy. I was talking to her and then my dad kept talking about how she trained the person on how not to open the bag. She seemed a little down, I quickly picked this up by her saying her day wasn't going so good. By the time we had our sandwiches though she seemed up a little, could have been me accidentally grinning a couple times. It's not my fault, there was breathing girl in front of me. When I came back to subway about 5 minutes after I left because I forgot my phone, she said she expected to see me again. I'll definitely be seeing her again as the sandwiches were healthy as desired.

Unexpected road trip to Cleveland this morning. Apparently we didn't read a memo about dropping the kid off early for a field trip to the Zoo. Hopefully she won't miss too much

Why is it that probably 20% of cars take it personally when you pass them? Not looking to race you buddy, just don't want you to be the troll that determines how fast I can drive. I'm not a serious speeder, but I always want to be going 5-10 mph over the limit if the road is something you can make time on.

Especially northern Ohio. That shit is laid out like a grid with tons of flat roads that basically head directly east/west. Western Reserve PLSS was a great achievement for our country. |

Cleveland impressions-
Panhandled by an ex con likely crack addict who needed money for the bus. 20 minutes later I see him walking down the road. Wanted to ask how that buss ride was working. Leah's 8 year impressions "what happened over there. Why is there nothing. Did a bomb go off?" Good night everybody! |

That mayo would have made the sandwich less plain and you don't need much, so that would keep it in the healthy category. Definitely go back, except this time, instead of leaving your phone, leave your phone number.

I hadn't heard this song until a couple of years ago when we went to China for my cousin's wedding. The hotel we stayed at in Beijing would automatically start playing music when you entered your room, and this was always the first song that was played. It became the theme song for our trip.

About to head to school for middle school honors day. A couple hours from now, no more middle schooler for us.
(I'd be sadder about that if we weren't so happy to put MS behind us around here)

I swear to God I am going to stop visiting news sites. I go the the Times web page and the front story is a 43 year old guy gets shot in the head with a stray bullet, his 2 kids in the car and his father in the passanger seat cradling his sons head in his arms as he dies. Father in town to take car of the kids because the parents were going out of town for the weekend and they were running some last minute errands.
Sick fucking world. |

Why is speaker wire made with a clear plastic coating that uses a thin white stripe on one of the pair to differentiate? Do the people that make this ever try to actually use it and try to find that white stripe against the clear plastic without direct light (flashlight) shining straight on it? Do they have any idea how easy it is to get a false positive from the specular reflection on the one without the white stripe? How about using a black stripe, since the wire is copper (red), and the connections are red and black, plus it would be easier to see?

For the first time in a long time (and an even longer time not related to alcohol), I threw up this afternoon. I'm thinking it was something I ate for breakfast. I really want pizza for dinner but am a bit gun shy. Maybe I'll order a pie and also make some rice.

I'm fascinated by the things I've read about this Nest learning thermostat. But $250 seems way too high.
Nest | The Learning Thermostat | Home I suppose if it could quantify how much theoretical savings there would be and how long til break even I'd think about it. |

Turns out the donation thermometer on Santorum's page was not linked to donations, but to your computer's system clock.

My son just referenced Trivium's song Into the Mouth of Hell We March as he started off to bed.
You think he's not looking forward to the Scout camping/leadership course that starts tomorrow?

What I really need is a thermostat with multiple sensors. I swear when the one for downstairs says "70" it feels 75 in the living room. Combined with an ability to control individual dampers, so that it can run to keep the other room cool (or warm), that would probably save more energy. But they are right, who programs their thermostat to save energy? I program mine for the best balance of comfort I can find.

I had the opportunity to attend Comicpalooza this weekend, my first comic con in over fifteen years. The crowd size was insane, but the wife and kids had a blast, which was great. Meeting George Takei was definitely the highlight of the event for me. He's such a nice, down-to-earth guy. We couldn't get into the celebrity laser tag, but it was certainly fun to watch. Also caught some roller derby action and watched the kids play in a quidditch match. We've already decided to go again next year.

My 6-year-old son decided to make a memory book. This is his second: he loves to take a bunch of pictures, then paste them on pages and write down what was happening at the time. So we print out 32 pictures, and I make the mistake of walking away while they are printing.
They finish, then I hear the printer going again. I come back to find blank sheets of paper coming out, and the counter on the front counting down. I ask him what he's doing, and he tells me he's making copies (we have a Canon all-in-one that prints, scans, and copies). I ask him what of, and instead of answer that he says that he needed paper to paste the pictures on to make the memory book pages. That's right, my son was making 32 copies of nothing so he could get his 32 blank sheets of paper. I've heard the joke, never seen it live until now. Now, on the one hand I'm clearly failing in his tech education as he should have known to just ask for some paper (and he usually does), but on the other hand I'd never shown him how to make copies, he figured out how to have it spit out 32 sheets of paper on his own. I have to be proud of that part.

Bought Max Payne 3 for the long weekend. I've never played a Max Payne game before, but, if this game is anything like the previous iterations, I will not be buying them or any future ones.
