That's a damn good question. I feel like the rankings system in FBCB is severely flawed. I don't put much stock into them until the season gets going, and even then, I've seen some weird things. The milestones are great. I doubt I keep this dynasty going long enough for anybody to hit 1,000 wins, I'm only planning on keeping it going another 10-15 seasons, time permitting. Hopefully we can at least see a few get to 500 wins. |

Nov. 13-15, 2026
We start the season on a weekend, like always, so I'll only cover the teams that actually played a game. There were 11 games on this weekends schedule, so let's get to it: North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 1-0, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 11/15/26 at Texas State (W 121-118, OT). The Ospreys get off to a good start, not sure how many overtimes the game actually went, at least 1 obviously, but they get a nice win in an NBA style game. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 1-0, 0-0 Big 12. 11/15/26 at Abilene Christian (W 95-75). A good win for the Horned Frogs before they start their season tournament in which they should get much more tested. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 0-1, 0-0 Big Sky. 11/13/26- Coaches vs. Cancer Classic First Round vs. (2) Villanova (L 66-63). Heck of an effort from the Hornets here, as they stayed close most of the game and came very close to pulling the upset. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 1-0, 0-0 MAAC. 11/15/26 at Columbia (W 69-55). Solid win for the Stags on the road, with another good road test next week. #14 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 0-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 11/13/26- Hall of Fame Classic First Round vs. (15) Cal State Northridge (L 74-64). Not a good start to the season for the Bruins, who drop their first round game in their season tournament. Hopefully all that means is that Northridge is going to be a good team, but still, Coach Shepard will not be happy with this season opening loss. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 0-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 11/13/26- Coaches vs. Cancer Classic First Round vs. (5) #20 Arkansas (L 88-59). Yikes! The Cougars bombed out to start their season, and will look to rebuild quick. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 1-0, 0-0 SEC. 11/15/26 vs. Louisiana Tech (W 74-54). Good win for the Crimson Tide as they get ready for their season tournament soon. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 1-1, 0-0 SWAC. 11/13/26- Military Classic First Round vs. (1) William & Mary (L 82-62). 11/14/26- Military Classic 3rd Place Game vs. (2) Niagara (W 80-75). The Hornets split to start the Coach Childress era and salvage 3rd place in their season tournament. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 2-0, 0-0 WCC. 11/13/26- Coaches vs. Cancer Classic First Round vs. (9) West Virginia (W 95-85). 11/15/26- Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Quarterfinal vs. (1) #13 Virginia (W 80-74). A very good start and a promising start to the season for the Toreros. It's always a good feeling when you knock off a #1 seed in a tournament, especially when you are seeded much lower. They'll move into the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic semifinals next week for another tough game. Here's a look at the national top 25 going into the first full week of the season, Nov. 16-22: Code:

Nov. 16-22, 2026
Fairly light schedule this week, with only 22 games, but both of those are feature games, both involving Northwestern. We'll start there. 11/16/26- Northwestern (Ess Vee) @ #11 Notre Dame (Al Mighty)-- A pretty close one throughout, but the Fighting Irish were able to hit a few more shots, and that was enough to pull away late for a non-conference season opening win. Final Score: #11 Notre Dame- 84, Northwestern- 73 11/22/26- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic First Round-- (6) FIU (Brett Hawkins vs. (3) Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- Northwestern got to the line often in this one, taking advantage of 17 FIU turnovers to get some easy baskets and free throw opportunities to advance in the winners round. Final Score: (3) Northwestern- 82, (6) FIU- 65 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #11 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 1-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/16/26 vs. Northwestern- feature game, highlighted above. 11/18/26 at Illinois State (L 102-96). A split this week for the Fighting Irish, who can't be losing to teams from lower conference, especially if they are going to make the NCAA Tournament. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 1-1, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 11/18/26 vs. Utah (L 69-66). Good effort for the Ospreys, as they battled and kept it close against a very good Utah team. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 1-0, 0-0 Big 12. No games this week for Coach Mighty and the Horned Frogs. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 2-0, 0-0 Big East. 11/16/26 vs. UConn (W 99-63). 11/19/26 at Indiana State (W 100-75). A couple blowout wins this week for the Red Storm who had to feel shafted at not being ranked in the preseason Top 25. They definitely took it out on their opponents this week. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 0-1, 0-0 Big Sky. No games this week for Coach Ginsberg and the Hornets. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 1-2, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/16/26 at Notre Dame- feature game, highlighted above. 11/18/26 at Central Michigan (L 68-67). 11/22/26- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic First Round vs. (6) FIU- feature game, highlighted above. Tough week for the Wildcats, who drop 2 out of 3, including a tough one at Central Michigan. They finish the week off on a good note though. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 0-1, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/22/26- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic First Round vs. (3) Northwestern- feature game, highlighted above. Tough way to start the season for the Golden Panthers, who weren't real competitive in a season opening loss. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 1-1, 0-0 MAAC. 11/19/26 at Rutgers (L 89-86). Tough loss for the Stags this week. They played hard but just couldn't win against a Big Ten team on the road. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 0-0, 0-0 Mountain West. No games again this week for Coach Shepard and the Spartans who are still looking to play their first game of the season. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 0-2, 0-0 Northeast. 11/16/26 at Boston College (L 81-78). 11/19/26 vs. Xavier (L 68-60). The Bulldogs and Coach Nielsen are taking the Coach Gunn strategy of playing a tough non-conference schedule. They've been competitive in both games so far against top notch opponents, but have fallen short in both. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 2-0, 0-0 Northeast. 11/16/26 at NJIT (W 81-79). 11/19/26 vs. Penn (W 65-57). 2 wins to start the season for the Seahawks, including a nice home win over Penn. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 1-0, 0-0 Pac 12. 11/21/26- Cancun Challenge First Round vs. (8) UNC Wilmington (W 74-45). No problem for the Cardinal in their opening game of the season, and their opening game of their season tournament. UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 0-1, 0-0 Pac 12. No games this week for Coach Shepard and the Bruins. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 0-1, 0-0 Pac 12. No games this week for Coach St. John and the Cougars. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 2-0, 0-0 SEC. 11/20/26 vs. Loyola (MD) (W 77-69). It wasn't easy, but the Crimson Tide get a home win this week going into their season tournament next week. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 1-3, 0-0 SWAC. 11/16/26 at #18 Indiana (L 80-69). 11/22/26 at #5 Wisconsin (L 79-73). Kudos to the Hornets for scheduling tough. They also seem to be taking the Coach Gunn strategy of tough in non-conference. They played pretty well but did drop both this week. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 1-2, 0-0 SWAC. 11/19/26- Puerto Rico Tip-Off First Round vs. (6) East Tennessee State (L 96-75). 11/20/26- Puerto Rico Tip-Off Consolation Round vs. (7) Florida A&M (W 65-40). 11/22/26- Puerto Rico Tip-Off 5th Place Game vs. (4) Binghamton (L 73-70). The Golden Lions take 6th in their season tournament, a pretty disappointing effort. They needed to win at least 2 of those games because as per usual, the rest of the non-conference schedule is brutal. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 0-2, 0-0 Sun Belt. 11/19/26- Paradise Jam First Round vs. (1) Wright State (L 71-60). 11/22/26- Paradise Jam Consolation Round vs. (4) Charlotte (L 73-62). Not a good start for the Trojans, with dual 11 point losses. They'll try to salvage a 7th place finish. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 2-1, 0-0 WCC. 11/20/26- Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Semifinal vs. (5) #9 Arkansas (L 84-77). Good effort for the Toreros, but they met their match in this one. Still, reaching the semifinals is something Coach Shocker has to be happy about. Here's a look at the national top 25 going into the week of Nov. 23-29: Code:

Nov. 23-29, 2026
31 games on the schedule this week, and no feature games, but a lot of season tournament games, so let's jump right into it: Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 4-1, 0-0 ACC. 11/25/26- Great Alaska Shootout First Round vs. (7) North Dakota State (W 84-71). 11/27/26- Great Alaska Shootout Semifinal vs. (6) Bowling Green (W 60-47). 11/28/26- Great Alaska Shootout Championship vs. (8) Quinnipiac (W 82-60). So the Fighting Irish run through their season tournament, but have to consider themselves a little fortunate that they didn't have to face any of the other top 4 seeds. Still though, winning a season tournament isn't easy, and they did. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 2-1, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 11/28/26 vs. St. Peter's (W 90-56). Domination for the Ospreys in their only game of the week. They also beat a team that hadn't lost a game until this one, so that is also encouraging. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 4-0, 0-0 Big 12. 11/24/26- Brooklyn Classic First Round vs. (5) Louisiana Tech (W 73-68). 11/27/26- Brooklyn Classic Semifinal vs. (1) #8 Indiana (W 76-71). 11/28/26- Brooklyn Classic Championship vs. (3) Pepperdine (W 68-65). What a week for the Horned Frogs, who also win their season tournament, and they did have some tough competition. A strong win that has to give them some momentum and make one believe they can compete in the Big 12 this season. #17 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 4-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/25/26- Battle 4 Atlantis First Round vs. (8) UC Santa Barbara (W 83-68). 11/26/26- Battle 4 Atlantis Semifinal vs. (5) N.C. State (W 72-62). 11/27/26- Battle 4 Atlantis Championship vs. (2) #5 Arizona (L 73-69). The Red Storm have their first setback of the season, but only by 4 points and to an always dangerous Arizona team. Probably no reason to panic. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 0-1, 0-0 Big Sky. No games this week for Coach Ginsberg and the Hornets. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 3-2, 0-0 Big Ten. 11/27/26- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic Semifinal vs. (7) Northern Illinois (W 71-56). 11/28/26- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic Championship vs. (1) #1 Providence (W 74-60). The Wildcats are starting to roll, being yet another team to win their season tournament and beating the #1 team in the nation in the process. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 0-3, 0-0 Conference USA. 11/27/26- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic Consolation Round vs. (2) Texas (L 83-69). 11/28/26- Corpus Christi Coastal Classic 7th Place Game vs. (8) Drake (L 60-58). Rough week for the Golden Panthers, who lost all 3 of their season tournament games to start their season. They need to pick it up soon. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 2-3, 0-0 MAAC. 11/26/26- Orlando Classic First Round vs. (3) Florida Atlantic (L 75-72). 11/27/26- Orlando Classic Consolation Round vs. (7) Robert Morris (W 59-50). 11/29/26- Orlando Classic 5th Place Game vs. (8) Northern Arizona (L 70-63, OT). Not the best of performances for the Stags as they take 6th place in their season tournament, dropping a tough one in overtime in the 5th place game. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 1-0, 0-0 Mountain West. 11/23/26 at Santa Clara (W 76-73). The Spartans finally play their first game of the season and get a good road win against a tough Santa Clara team. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 0-3, 0-0 Northeast. 11/23/26 vs. Villanova (L 95-92). Another tough, so close loss to a really good team for the Bulldogs. The combined margin of defeated in their 3 losses is just 14 points, and all against teams that should be playing in the postseason. If nothing else, they are really setting themselves up nicely for Northeast play. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 3-1, 0-0 Northeast. 11/26/26- South Carolina Showcase First Round vs. (3) Eastern Kentucky (W 75-53). 11/28/26- South Carolina Showcase Championship vs. (4) Navy (L 84-70). A split for the Seahawks this week in their season tournament. No shame in their first loss being to Navy, a team that currently has an RPI of 5. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 2-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 11/24/26- Cancun Challenge Semifinal vs. (4) VCU (W 64-49). 11/25/26- Cancun Challenge Championship vs. (7) Long Beach State (L 76-75). Tough loss for the Cardinal in their season tournament championship game, also the first loss of their season. Nothing to be ashamed of though, as Long Beach hasn't lost yet this season. UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 1-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 11/29/26 vs. Dartmouth (W 70-69). The Bruins narrowly escape an 0-2 start with a last second shot to beat Dartmouth. They aren't playing great ball right now and have some tough non-conference games coming up. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 0-2, 0-0 Pac 12. 11/29/26 at Eastern Washington (L 81-63). Another bad loss for the Cougars against an in-state team. Still a lot of chances to win a few games in the non-conference season, but right now it's not looking promising for them to break their postseason drought. #20 Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 3-2, 0-0 SEC. 11/25/26- Battle 4 Atlantis First Round vs. (6) UConn (L 85-79). 11/26/26- Battle 4 Atlantis Consolation Round vs. (7) Evansville (W 89-64). 11/27/26- Battle 4 Atlantis 5th Place Game vs. (4) BYU (L 61-55). The Crimson Tide falter this week, losing 2 out of 3 in their season tournament, both being 6 point losses with a blowout win sandwiched in between, as they have to settle for 6th place. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 1-3, 0-0 SWAC. No games this week for Coach Childress and the Hornets. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 1-2, 0-0 SWAC. No games this week for Coach Gunn and the Golden Lions, as they have a hard week of practice to get ready for a brutal non-conference schedule. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 2-2, 0-0 Sun Belt. 11/23/26- Paradise Jam 7th Place Game vs. (2) Western Carolina (W 73-54). 11/29/26 vs. Northwestern State (W 73-71). The Trojans get back to .500 with a couple wins this week, including a convincing win in the 7th place game of their season tournament. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 3-1, 0-0 WCC. 11/23/26 at Southern Utah (W 83-73). The Toreros get back to their winning ways with a strong road win, pulling away late. Nov. 30-Dec. 6, 2026
33 games on the schedule this week, with 2 feature games. Let's start there: 12/1/26- FIU (Brett Hawkins) @ Troy (Benton Gale) -- A good one here, as Troy had some shooting troubles, hitting just 37.9%. Because of that they couldn't quite hold on, and FIU gets their first win of the season. Final Score: FIU- 76, Troy- 73 12/4/26- Alabama State (Randolph Childress) @ Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- Not much to talk about in this in-state battle, as the Crimson Tide displayed stellar defense forcing 18 Alabama State turnovers and holding them to just 31.8% shooting in a pretty easy win. Final Score: Alabama- 58, Alabama State- 42 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #19 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 6-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/3/26 at Central Arkansas (W 71-54). 12/6/26 vs. Northern Iowa (W 76-63). 2 more wins for the Fighting Irish, with a pretty good win over Northern Iowa. They have started strong. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 4-1, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 12/1/26 at UCF (W 76-68). 12/5/26 at Army (W 72-55). A nice week for the Ospreys who win 2 road games including an in-state battle at a solid UCF team, a game that wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates. #15 TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 4-2, 0-0 Big 12. 12/1/26 at Miami (FL) (L 79-64). 12/3/26 vs. SMU (L 88-85). Not a good week for the Horned Frogs who lose 2 games after getting themselves into the top 25, but still a lot of winnable non-conference games coming up. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 6-1, 0-0 Big East. 11/30/26 at Lehigh (W 80-71). 12/4/26 vs. Delaware (W 119-93). The Red Storm win 2 this week, and Coach Hoo has to be seething from a lack of respect as the defending national championships lost most of their votes last week after a loss to a very good team. They took it out on a couple opponents this week. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 1-1, 0-0 Big Sky. 11/30/26 vs. UL Monroe (W 65-54). A good win for the Hornets this week in their only game, beating a strong UL Monroe team. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 5-2, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/1/26 vs. Southern Miss (W 81-71). 12/4/26 at Cal State Fullerton (W 86-80). Good week for the Wildcats, who follow up on beating the #1 team last week by getting 2 more tough wins this week. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 2-3, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/1/26 at Troy- feature game, highlighted above. 12/3/26 vs. Winthrop (W 61-60). The Golden Panthers get into the win column this week, winning their first 2 games of the season. Neither came easy, but hopefully will be confidence builders. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 3-3, 1-0 MAAC. 12/6/26 vs. Quinnipiac (W 73-67). The Stags open MAAC play with a win, getting back to .500 overall in the young season. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 3-0, 0-0 Mountain West. 12/4/26 at Cal Poly (W 73-47). 12/6/26 vs. Montana (W 80-64). 2 solid victories for the Spartans this week. Although the competition hasn't been the greatest, it's still a good start for Coach Shepard this season. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 2-4, 0-0 Northeast. 12/1/26 vs. St. Joseph's (L 76-75). 12/4/26 at #13 Boston University (W 79-57). 12/6/26 at Air Force (W 70-53). The Bulldogs also get their first 2 wins of the season, doing it in impressive fashion going on the road and hammering a top 15 team, then following that up with another win over a Mountain West team. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 4-1, 0-0 Northeast. 12/4/26 vs. Manhattan (W 80-71). Just 1 game for the Seahawks this week, but they get back to their winning ways after their loss last week. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 4-2, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/1/26 vs. Indiana (W 64-61). 12/4/26 at Fresno State (W 71-62). 12/6/26 vs. Iowa (L 77-48). The Cardinal win 2 out of 3 this week, but the loss was a bad one, losing by 29 to an Iowa team with an RPI over 200. UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 3-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/1/26 vs. Kansas State (W 82-80). 12/5/26 vs. Columbia (W 75-58). Much better week for the Bruins who get 2 victories, although neither 1 can really be claimed as a great victory. Still though, they win 2 games that they needed to win. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 1-2, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/3/26 at #25 Long Beach State (W 64-62). Big win for the Cougars in their only game of the week, going on the road and beating a ranked team, even if it was only by 2 points. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 4-2, 0-0 SEC. 12/4/26 vs. Alabama State- feature game, highlighted above. Just 1 game for the Crimson Tide this week, an in-state battle that they won pretty handily. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 2-4, 0-0 SWAC. 11/30/26 vs. SMU (W 61-51). 12/4/26 at Alabama- feature game, highlighted above. A split for the Hornets, getting a good win over SMU, but have a lot more tough games on the schedule. The SMU win was big as they may not get many more in the non-conference schedule. Also of note, they don't play another home game until mid-January. Yikes! Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 1-4, 0-0 SWAC. 11/30/26 at Oklahoma (L 91-82). 12/4/26 at Iowa (L 88-61). 2 more losses for the Golden Lions as they have entered the murderers row non-conference schedule and may not get another win until conference play, unless they steal one. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 3-3, 0-0 Sun Belt. 12/1/26 vs. FIU- feature game, highlighted above. 12/5/26 at Georgia State (W 71-65). A split for the Trojans who played pretty good ball this week, but still have the potential to break out and go on a nice run. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 5-1, 0-0 WCC. 12/3/26 vs. UNLV (W 82-74). 12/5/26 vs. William & Mary (W 86-79). 2 more wins for the Toreros who are off to a good start this season, but also have a couple tough games coming up in the non-conference slate. We have 38 games on the schedule this week, and 2 of them are feature games. Let's start there: 12/9/26- San Diego (Charlie Shocker) @ Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- A good ol fashioned shootout here, as both teams shot over 45%. Good effort by Pine Bluff, but the Toreros just had a little too much in a great game. Final Score: San Diego- 103, Arkansas Pine Bluff- 100 12/10/26- Washington State (DeShawn St. John) @ Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- Another good game, and while the shooting wasn't as good, both teams still battled hard. In the end, it was Sacramento State hitting a buzzer beater in overtime to get the win. Final Score: Sacramento State- 71, Washington State- 69 (OT) Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #12 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 7-1, 0-0 ACC. 12/10/26 vs. Michigan State (W 83-56). Another solid win for the Fighting Irish, who seem to finally be figuring it out, or maybe they are just playing for their coach. Either way, Coach Mighty has to be happy about what is going on. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 5-3, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 12/7/26 vs. Sam Houston State (W 63-55). 12/11/26 vs. Long Beach State (L 98-82). 12/13/26 at Florida (L 76-66). Tough week for the Ospreys who lose 2 out of 3, but the 2 teams they lost to a pretty good teams. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 5-3, 0-0 Big 12. 12/9/26 vs. Prairie View A&M (W 78-65). 12/11/26 at Loyola Chicago (L 74-68). A split for the Horned Frogs as they fell apart late at Loyola, and they struggle to find consistency. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 6-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/7/26 at Grand Canyon (L 71-70). Just 1 game for the Red Storm this week, and if they wanted respect, this isn't the way to do it. Tough loss to a 2 win team. Even if it was only by 1 point and on the road, this won't help them in the eyes of the voters. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 2-3, 0-0 Big Sky. 12/8/26 at Santa Clara (L 87-85). 12/10/26 vs. Washington State- feature game, highlighted above. 12/12/26 at San Francisco (L 88-83). The Hornets lose 2 out of 3 this week, but at least both losses were close. Give them credit, they trailed San Francisco by 21 at halftime and almost came back. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 6-3, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/10/26 vs. Sam Houston State (W 90-79). 12/13/26 at Texas A&M Corpus Christi (L 82-65). A split for the Wildcats, and a bad loss that breaks a 6 game winning streak. That was one they really needed, because the rest of their non-conference schedule is tough. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 3-4, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/8/26 at Memphis (W 62-54). 12/10/26 vs. Florida Gulf Coast (L 68-51). Interesting split for the Golden Panthers, as many expected the results to be the other way around. However, FGCU has only lost once so far this season. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 5-3, 2-0 MAAC. 12/9/26 at Hartford (W 84-76). 12/13/26 at Canisius (W 64-39). 2 more wins for the Stags, including a non-conference win, and both on the road. They are rolling. #23 San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 4-1, 0-0 Mountain West. 12/8/26 vs. UC Davis (L 75-67). 12/12/26 at Eastern Michigan (W 83-68). A split for the Spartans this week, who now get into the tougher part of the non-conference schedule. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 2-6, 0-0 Northeast. 12/9/26 at #7 George Washington (L 73-41). 12/11/26 at Buffalo (L 74-63). Not the best of efforts for the Bulldogs this week as they basically get hammered in 2 games. The Coach Nielsen experiment at Bryant is just not going very well so far. The good news is.. it's still early. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 6-1, 0-0 Northeast. 12/8/26 at Hofstra (W 73-56). 12/11/26 at Hartford (W 71-63). 2 more wins for the Seahawks who are playing solid basketball at the moment. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 6-2, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/8/26 vs. Illinois Chicago (W 81-69). 12/10/26 vs. #9 Iowa State (W 84-67). A couple solid wins for the Cardinals this week, including a much needed win over a top 10 team. #25 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 5-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/7/26 at Minnesota (W 79-65). 12/11/26 vs. Iowa (W 92-78). A pair of 14 point wins for the Bruins this week as they continue to roll after their season opening loss. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 1-4, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/7/26 vs. Nevada (L 92-87). 12/10/26 at Sacramento State- feature game, highlighted above. 2 more losses for the Cougars, who at least lost close games this week, but they do have some winnable games coming up. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 4-5, 0-0 SEC. 12/8/26 vs. LaSalle (L 66-53). 12/10/26 at Memphis (L 57-47). 12/12/26 vs. Kansas State (L 79-78). Not a good week for the Crimson Tide who lose all 3 games this week and are under .500 for the first time in a while. They need to right the ship quick because it sure doesn't get easier. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 2-6, 0-0 SWAC. 12/9/26 at Vanderbilt (L 92-57). 12/11/26 at Florida State (L 91-67). No big surprise here, 2 blowout losses for the Hornets against stellar competition. Hopefully this will get them ready for conference play. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 2-6, 0-0 SWAC. 12/7/26 at #2 Wisconsin (L 93-64). 12/9/26 vs. San Diego- feature game, highlighted above. 12/13/26 vs. Southern Miss (W 83-78). The Golden Lions get 1 of 3 this week, and that's a bit of a surprise as many had them pegged to lose all 3. The scary thing is that with a little more time, they could have beat San Diego too. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 4-4, 0-0 Sun Belt. 12/9/26 vs. Samford (W 85-53). 12/12/26 at USC Upstate (L 101-74). Another split for the Trojans, who just can't seem to put a big streak of any kind together as the head into conference play. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 6-2, 0-0 WCC. 12/7/26 vs. Cal State Northridge (L 71-65). 12/9/26 at Arkansas Pine Bluff- feature game, highlighted above. A split for the Toreros who lose to a very good Northridge team, but as mentioned earlier, might consider themselves lucky to beat Pine Bluff. Just wanted to give everybody an update, I was in the hospital with some fairly serious medical issues over the weekend and couldn't do much. I'm home and recovering, but still can't do much. I hope to resume this project either this weekend or early next week. Thanks for your patience.

Dec. 14-20, 2026
32 games on the docket this week, with 2 of them feature games, both on the west coast. Let's get to it: 12/19/26- Stanford (Benito Sanchez) @ San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- A pretty good one here, as San Jose State battled back to make it interesting in the 2nd half, forcing 18 Stanford turnovers. In the end, it was the Cardinal getting a tougher road victory than expected. Final Score: Stanford- 67, San Jose State- 63 12/20/26- #17 UCLA (Tim Shepard) @ Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- The Bruins took control early in this one, leading by 16 in the 1st half. Sacramento State tried to make it close, but the Bruins held them at arms length for the road victory. Final Score: #17 UCLA- 80, Sacramento State- 70 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #8 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 7-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/17/26 vs. Oakland (L 84-72). 1 game for the Fighting Irish this week, and just not a good loss. They'll need to get back to their winning ways next week. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 5-5, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 12/16/26 at South Florida (L 80-61). 12/20/26 vs. Southern Miss (L 89-65). 2 more losses for the Ospreys, who have now lot 4 in a row, and still some tough ones coming up. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 7-3, 0-0 Big 12. 12/14/26 vs. North Texas (W 70-56). 12/18/26 vs. Oral Roberts (W 70-60). 2 more wins for the Horned Frogs, and they continue to play pretty good basketball. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 7-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/14/26 vs. Chattanooga (W 78-62). The Red Storm get back to their winning ways in their only game of the week and have more easily winnable games coming up. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 4-4, 0-0 Big Sky. 12/14/26 at East Tennessee State (W 89-76). 12/18/26 at Fresno State (W 64-61). 12/20/26 vs. #7 UCLA- feature game, highlighted above. The Hornets get 2 out of 3 this week, with their only blemish the loss to UCLA. Still a pretty good week to get back to .500. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 7-3, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/20/26 vs. Butler (W 99-73). Just 1 game this week for the Wildcats, but they get a very convincing win over a pretty good Butler team. The schedule gets much tougher now though. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 4-4, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/19/26 vs. Western Carolina (W 91-60). The Golden Panthers are back to .500 after an easy win, and have won 4 out of 5. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 7-3, 0-0 MAAC. 12/18/26 vs. Niagara (W 72-53). 12/20/26 vs. Marist (W 74-71). The Stags continue to roll, staying undefeated in MAAC play with a couple solid wins. Coach Pryde hasn't missed a beat after last seasons performance. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 5-3, 0-0 Mountain West. 12/15/26 vs. St. Mary's (W 89-88, OT). 12/17/26 vs. UC Irvine (L 91-83). 12/19/26 vs. Stanford- feature game, highlighted above. Tough week for the Spartans as they lose 2 of 3, all against teams on the west coast. No shame in losing to Irvine or Stanford, who have a 23 and a 12 RPI respectively. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 3-7, 0-0 Northeast. 12/15/26 at Rhode Island (L 77-76). 12/19/26 at Northeastern (W 82-79). The Bulldogs split 2 games this week, both close games, heading into conference play with a less than stellar record. The good news is, there aren't too many wow teams in the Northeast conference this season. Only 2 have winning records. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 6-3, 0-0 Northeast. 12/15/26 at Holy Cross (L 79-56). 12/17/26 vs. #21 LaSalle (L 74-56). A couple blowout losses for the Seahawks, 1 against a ranked team. The loss at Holy Cross hurts though. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 8-2, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/16/26 at Grand Canyon (W 77-59). 12/19/26 at San Jose State- feature game, highlighted above. 2 more wins for the Cardinal as they continue the non-conference road trip next week. #17 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 6-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/20/26 at Sacramento State- feature game, highlighted above. Just 1 game this week for the Bruins, as they take care of business against a fellow FOFC coached team. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 3-4, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/15/26 vs. Montana State (W 63-51). 12/17/26 vs. Montana (W 79-54). 2 good wins for the Cougars this week, who are closer to .500 now. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 4-8, 0-0 SEC. 12/15/26 at #15 Louisville (L 68-51). 12/17/26 vs. Chattanooga (L 69-66, OT). 12/20/26 at Virginia (L 74-55). Ugh! A terrible week for the Crimson Tide, losing all 3 games they played. The losses to Louisville and Virginia can be forgiven, but the loss at home to Chattanooga, unacceptable. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 2-7, 0-0 SWAC. 12/20/26 at Villanova (L 87-76). Another loss for the Hornets in their only game of the week. Not unexpected, and they have 1 more chance to win a non-conference game before they head into SWAC play. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 3-6, 0-0 SWAC. 12/17/26 at #15 Louisville (W 78-65). Just 1 game for the Golden Lions, but a big one it was as they go on the road and shock Louisville. They've surprisingly won 2 in a row and now have a lot of confidence. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 4-6, 0-2 Sun Belt. 12/17/26 vs. UT Arlington (L 72-69). 12/19/26 vs. Appalachian State (L 89-74). Tough week for the Trojans to open Sun Belt play, as they take on what is probably the best 2 conference teams right off the bat. Hopefully they can shake those losses off. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 7-3, 0-0 WCC. 12/16/26 vs. UC Santa Barbara (L 81-68). 12/18/26 at California (W 102-86). A split for the Toreros, but most people expected the results would be different. What could have been, as Coach Shocker is kicking himself for not preparing the team better against UCSB. As it stand, on to conference play. Here's a look at the national top 25 as we move into the week of Dec. 21-27: Code:

Dec. 21-27, 2026
29 games on the schedule this week, with no feature games, but a few season tournament games, so let's get to it: #21 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 10-2, 0-0 ACC. 12/22/26 at St. Bonaventure (W 66-37). 12/24/26 at Kansas (W 72-55). 12/27/26 vs. Xavier (W 94-75). 3 more dominating wins for the Fighting Irish, and Coach Mighty has this team rolling as we move into ACC play. The conference as a whole appears to be down this season, so if there is any season that Mr. Mighty can get Notre Dame to compete, this should be the season. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 5-6, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 12/22/26 vs. #20 Boston College (L 65-52). A good effort for the Ospreys in their only game of the week, but still a loss, and that's 5 in a row. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 7-4, 0-0 Big 12. 12/24/26 at Houston Baptist (L 56-47). A huge letdown for the Horned Frogs in their only game of the week, as they lose a lot of momentum heading into Big 12 play. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 9-2, 0-0 Big East. 12/22/26 vs. Davidson (W 86-81). 12/24/26 at Mt. St. Mary's (W 85-49). The Red Storm got a scare from Davidson, but handled it and won 2 games this week, finding themselves still unranked heading into Big East play in what might be the most befuddling thing of the season so far. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 4-4, 0-0 Big Sky. No games this week for Coach Ginsberg and the Hornets, who went back home to enjoy the holiday. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 8-3, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/23/26 vs. Tennessee (W 71-60). 1 game this week for the Wildcats and they get a very solid win against a strong Tennessee team. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 5-5, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/23/26 at Oakland (L 89-71). 12/25/26 at Oklahoma (W 59-52). An interesting week for the Golden Panthers, who split their 2 games. A nice Christmas miracle as they steal a win at Oklahoma. No shame in losing to Oakland, as they beat Notre Dame earlier this season too. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 8-3, 5-0 MAAC. 12/25/26 vs. Canisius (W 77-53). 1 game for the Stags this week, and another win, as they have made it a quarter of a way through conference play undefeated. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 5-6, 0-0 Mountain West. 12/21/26- Diamond Head Classic First Round vs. (1) #2 Wisconsin (L 104-80). 12/22/26- Diamond Head Classic Consolation Round vs. (4) St. Joseph's (L 85-77). 12/24/26- Diamond Head Classic 7th Place Game vs. (2) Louisville (L 73-69). An 0-fer for the Spartans in their season tournament, but at least they battled in their last 2 games. They are now under .500 heading into Mountain West play. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 3-9, 0-2 Northeast. 12/24/26 vs. St. Francis (PA) (L 73-71, OT). 12/26/26 vs. Sacred Heart (L 84-81). The Bulldogs continue to struggle, picking up 2 more losses. Close losses, but losses none the less. Coach Nielsen continues to struggle. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 8-3, 2-0 Northeast. 12/24/26 at #23 St. Francis (NY) (W 80-55). 12/26/26 at LIU Brooklyn (W 92-83). 2 more wins for the Seahawks, dominating wins at that. They went on the road and hammered a ranked St. Francis (NY) team and haven't missed a beat from last season. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 8-3, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/22/26 at St. Mary's (L 69-60). Tough one for the Cardinal, as they lose to what will probably end up being a very good St. Mary's team in their only game of the week. #6 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 8-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/23/26 at UC Irvine (W 90-74). 12/26/26 vs. George Mason (W 79-43). 2 more easy wins for the Bruins, and they have one more top 25 test before Pac 12 play. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 3-5, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/27/26 at #18 Cal State Northridge (L 78-67). 1 game this week for the Cougars, and they drop a tough one on the road against a solid team with an RPI of 5 currently. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 4-8, 0-0 SEC. No games for Coach Rogers and the Crimson Tide, but they weren't allowed to go home for the holidays. Word is they were put through some tough practices this week to get ready for SEC play. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 3-7, 0-0 SWAC. 12/26/26 at Florida Atlantic (W 74-52). Big win for the Hornets in their only game of the week as they head into SWAC play. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 3-8, 0-0 SWAC. 12/21/26 at Oklahoma State (L 75-63). 12/25/26 at Texas (L 100-97). The Golden Lions took a trip through Big 12 country this week, faring pretty well, taking Texas to the wire. They finish up a Big 12 road trip next week with the #1 team in the nation before SWAC play starts. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 6-6, 2-2 Sun Belt. 12/24/26 at UL Lafayette (W 61-59). 12/26/26 vs. Arkansas State (W 74-61). 2 wins for the Trojans this week as they get back to .500 both overall and in conference play, which once again looks to be fairly weak. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 8-4, 1-1 WCC. 12/24/26 vs. Pepperdine (L 96-75). 12/26/26 vs. Loyola Marymount (W 76-67). The Toreros open up WCC play with a split at home, losing to a pretty good Pepperdine team. The WCC is another conference that doesn't look particularly strong. Here's a look at the national top 25 as we head into the week of Dec. 28, 2026-Jan. 3, 2027: Code:

Man, I know about beefing up the RPI and all, but B.B. Gunn is going to have to talk to the AD about scheduling.

33 games on the schedule, and 1 feature game, in the Northeast conference, so we'll start there. 12/31/26- Bryant (Rob Nielsen) @ Wagner (Will Brown) -- A low scoring first half in this one, but things definitely picked up in the 2nd half. Although neither team shot over 40%, Bryant got to the line more thanks to a rebounding edge to get the road victory. Final Score: Bryant- 61, Wagner - 50 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #18 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 11-2, 1-0 ACC. 12/30/26 vs. Georgia Tech (W 78-55). A good start to ACC play for Notre Dame, but they'll get more of a test next week as they started getting into ranked ACC opponents. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 6-7, 0-0 Atlantic Sun. 12/28/26 at South Carolina (L 72-59). 1/1/27 at Florida A&M (W 59-57). A split for the Ospreys on the road as they survive a tough Florida A&M team, and actually played well at South Carolina. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 7-6, 0-2 Big 12. 12/28/26 at Kansas State (L 73-56). 1/2/27 at Kansas (L 85-83). The Horned Frogs took a trip through Kansas this week and it didn't go well, as they lost both games. They did almost beat Kansas, but not quite. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 10-3, 1-1 Big East. 12/30/26 vs. DePaul (W 96-58). 1/2/27 vs. #3 Providence (L 99-88). A split for the Red Storm, who certainly wanted a better effort against Providence. The Big East is always a grind though, and the schedule looks to be favorable coming up. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 5-5, 0-0 Big Sky. 12/28/26 at Cal Poly (W 67-59). 12/30/26 at UC Davis (L 71-62). A split for the Hornets, both on the road. UC Davis is a pretty good team, so no shame in that loss. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 9-3, 0-0 Big Ten. 12/31/26 vs. #10 Texas A&M (W 74-53). Another big win for the Wildcats this week, as they now have 2 signature wins to boost their NCAA Tournament resume, even though it's still much too early. They'll have a chance for more. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 7-5, 0-0 Conference USA. 12/29/26 at UNC Greensboro (W 73-49). 1/1/27 at Iowa (W 55-44). 2 more road wins for the Golden Panthers, who have won 4 of 5 heading into C-USA play, and seem to be finding their groove. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 11-4, 7-0 MAAC. 12/28/26 at Harvard (W 88-65). 12/30/26 at UC Irvine (L 64-57). 1/1/27 at Rider (W 64-52). 1/3/27 at Iona (W 61-53). A heavy week for the Stags, but they win 3 of 4 on the road, mixing in 2 non-conference games in the middle of MAAC play. They are still undefeated in MAAC play. Knock on wood but if Coach Pryde can continue to dominate the MAAC like he has in his time at Fairfield, bigger schools may start giving him a call. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 6-7, 1-1 Mountain West. 12/30/26 at UNLV (L 78-70). 1/2/27 vs. Utah State (W 83-75). The Spartans finally break their losing streak! It reached 6 games, but it ended with a home conference win over Utah State. Now they look to build on that. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 5-9, 2-2 Northeast. 12/31/26 at Wagner- feature game, highlighted above. 1/2/27 at Central Connecticut (W 63-59). 2 good road wins for the Bulldogs, as it seems Coach Nielsen might be figuring life out in a small conference. A couple winnable games next week, so we'll see. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 9-4, 3-1 Northeast. 12/31/26 vs. Bryant- feature game, highlighted above. 1/2/27 vs. Robert Morris (W 66-53). The Seahawks had a small setback against Bryant, but still look to be one of the classes of the conference which is pretty weak overall. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 9-3, 0-0 Pac 12. 1/2/27 at UT Rio Grande Valley (W 74-48). Just 1 game for the Cardinal this week, but it was an easy win, a good confidence booster heading into conference play. #6 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 9-1, 0-0 Pac 12. 1/1/27 vs. #12 La Salle (W 71-70). A great game here, as the Bruins had to come back in this one, but they get a big win in their only game of the week heading into Pac 12 play now. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 4-6, 0-0 Pac 12. 12/30/26 vs. Eastern Illinois (W 60-52). 1/2/27 vs. Eastern Michigan (L 67-57). A split for the Cougars, who are really struggling this season. They did have a signature win at Long Beach State, but they'll need a lot more. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 4-8, 0-0 SEC. No games again this week for the Crimson Tide, who have had 2 hard weeks of practices heading into SEC play. Time to see if it paid off. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 5-7, 2-0 SWAC. 12/28/26 at Southern (W 93-86). 1/2/27 at Alcorn State (W 59-54). The Hornets start off SWAC play with a couple road wins as they look to build some momentum. They'll play both a conference and non-conference game next week, both on the road. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 3-10, 0-1 SWAC. 12/29/26 at #1 Baylor (L 78-71). 1/2/27 vs. Mississippi Valley State (L 83-71). 2 more losses for the Golden Lions. That's 4 in a row, but they've competed against 2 top teams in the Big 12, and almost pulled both off. They might have just faced 1 of their 2 toughest challenges in the SWAC, so now is the time for them to make some noise. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 8-6, 4-2 Sun Belt. 12/31/26 at Northern Kentucky (W 89-62). 1/2/27 at #21 UT Arlington (W 66-58). Big week for the Trojans, who go on the road and beat a ranked conference team. They have momentum on their side, let's see if they can keep it up. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 9-5, 2-2 WCC. 12/31/26 at Portland (W 86-80). 1/2/27 at USC (L 76-71). A split for the Toreros, who really need to take advantage of the teams with a losing record, as there are some strong teams in the WCC. Here's a look at the national top 25 as we head into the week of Jan. 4-10: Code:

37 games on the schedule this week, and 1 feature game in the Pac 12. We'll start there: 1/7/27- Washington State (DeShawn St. John) @ Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- Free throws were the difference in this one, as Stanford got to the line and Washington State didn't. Although the foul count was only 20-18, it seemed like every foul Wazzou committed was a shooting foul as they drop their conference opener. Final Score: Stanford- 61, Washington State- 46 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #13 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 12-3, 2-1 ACC. 1/6/27 vs. #11 Syracuse (W 69-64). 1/9/27 at N.C. State (L 81-78). A split for the Fighting Irish, as they win at home but lose on the road. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 7-8, 0-1 Atlantic Sun. 1/6/27 at Penn (W 83-63). 1/9/27 at NJIT (L 82-60). The Ospreys also split this week, as they win a non-conference game, but lose their conference opener in blowout fashion. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 9-6, 2-2 Big 12. 1/4/27 vs. Oklahoma (W 57-54). 1/9/27 vs. #19 Texas (W 80-79). It wasn't easy, but the Horned Frogs got a couple home wins to even up their conference record, and beat a ranked team in the process. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 12-3, 3-1 Big East. 1/6/27 at Butler (W 90-76). 1/9/27 at Xavier (W 75-51). 2 more impressive road wins for the Red Storm, who continue to roll. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 6-6, 1-1 Big Sky. 1/7/27 at Weber State (W 79-58). 1/9/27 at Idaho State (L 99-90). The Hornets split this week to open up conference play, both games on the road. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 11-3, 2-0 Big Ten. 1/6/27 vs. Maryland (W 95-78). 1/9/27 at #14 Ohio State (W 93-75). 2 dominating performances for the Wildcats to open up conference play as they get into the tougher part of the schedule. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 8-6, 1-1 Conference USA. 1/7/27 at Old Dominion (L 55-54). 1/9/27 at Rice (W 67-59). A split for the Golden Panthers to start conference play, as they couldn't get a buzzer beating shot off at Old Dominion. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) --13-4, 9-0 MAAC. 1/8/27 vs. Iona (W 77-57). 1/10/27 at Manhattan (W 88-65). The Stags continue to roll, winning 2 more games to stay unbeaten in conference play. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 7-8, 2-2 Mountain West. 1/6/27 vs. Wyoming (W 93-39). 1/9/27 at #10 Colorado State (L 80-72). A split for the Spartans, as they had Colorado State on the ropes but fell late. How about that performance against Wyoming though, holding them to just 28.8% shooting. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 6-10, 3-3 Northeast. 1/7/27 vs. Mt. St. Mary's (W 63-50). 1/9/27 vs. Fairleigh Dickinson (L 76-71). A split for the Bulldogs this week, as the loss to Fairleigh Dickinson broke a 3 game winning streak. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 10-5, 4-2 Northeast. 1/7/27 at St. Francis (PA) (L 64-51). 1/9/27 at Sacred Heart (W 92-79). The Seahawks split on the road this week, being consistent, as both margins of victory and defeat were 13. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 11-3, 2-0 Pac 12. 1/7/27 vs. Washington State- feature game, highlighted above. 1/9/27 at Arizona State (W 62-61). It didn't come easy, but the Cardinal get 2 wins to open conference play. 4 of their next 5 games are going to be strong tests though, we'll see what happens. #4 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 10-2, 1-1 Pac 12. 1/7/27 vs. California (L 71-67). 1/9/27 at Colorado (W 94-76). A split for the Bruins to open conference play. They had a halftime lead over Cal but just couldn't put them away. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 4-8, 0-2 Pac 12. 1/7/27 at Stanford- feature game, highlighted above. 1/9/27 at #23 Washington (L 59-50). Tough week for the Cougars as they continue to struggle, dropping their first 2 conference games. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 6-8, 2-0 SEC. 1/6/27 vs. Florida (W 62-38). 1/9/27 vs. Auburn (W 93-71). The Crimson Tide start out conference play with 2 badly needed wins, breaking a 6 game losing streak. Hopefully this will get them on track. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 5-9, 2-1 SWAC. 1/7/27 at Georgetown (L 84-60). 1/9/27 at Alabama A&M (L 84-65). The Hornets lose 2 this week, a non-conference game they expected to lose, but then dropped the ball in a conference loss. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 4-11, 1-2 SWAC. 1/4/27 vs. Prairie View A&M (L 88-54). 1/9/27 vs. Texas Southern (W 99-87). A split for the Golden Lions, who pick up their first SWAC victory of the season, breaking a 5 game losing streak. This conference is really bad, and really wide open, so hopefully Coach Gunn and Coach Childress both can get hot. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 9-7, 5-3 Sun Belt. 1/7/27 vs. South Alabama (L 67-66). 1/9/27 at South Alabama (W 82-60). A split for the Trojans, against the same team, losing at home but dominating on the road. They will be kicking themselves for a while in this one, as they led the home game by 14 at halftime, only to lose on a buzzer beater. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 11-5, 4-2 WCC. 1/7/27 vs. Pacific (W 62-54). 1/9/27 vs. St. Mary's (W 74-73). A good week for the Toreros who win 2 games, having to rally from a 9 point halftime deficit to stun St. Mary's. Here's a look at the national top 25 heading into the week of Jan. 11-17: Code:

I thought I had sent this post yesterday, but apparently not, so for the purposes of getting through it, it'll be scores only, no recaps. 37 games on the schedule, 1 feature game in the Pac 12: 1/14/27- #6 UCLA (Tim Shepard)- 71, Stanford (Benito Sanchez)- 50. Guys, I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts in the past few weeks, I was unexpectedly hired for a new job, and I've been doing some heavy training. Between that, bad storms which took the internet out, and coaching 2 baseball teams, I have literally had no free time, and barely time to sleep. I hope people are still following as I do plan on finishing this. I hope to get a post or 2 in next week. Thanks for your patience.

34 games on the schedule this week, with 1 feature game, in the SWAC. Let's start there: 1/23/17- Alabama State (Randolph Childress) @ Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- A high scoring affair in which both teams shot over 40%. Not much to separate the 2 teams, other than the fact that Alabama State made 4 more shots. That was literally the difference. 4 two point shots. Final Score: Alabama State- 93, Arkansas Pine Bluff- 85 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #20 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 15-4, 5-2 ACC. 1/20/27 vs. Louisville (W 69-49). 1/23/27 at #12 Boston College (W 71-59). A couple of solid wins for the Fighting Irish this week, as they are on their way to their best season in 4 years, knock on wood. The big road win against a top 15 team will really help. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 9-10, 2-3 Atlantic Sun. 1/21/27 at Kennesaw State (L 72-56). 1/23/27 at Stetson (W 75-71). A split for the Ospreys, including a good road win, breaking a brief 2 game losing streak. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 9-10, 2-5 Big 12. 1/18/27 at Canisius (L 68-56). 1/23/27 vs. Texas Tech (L 71-70). 2 tough losses for the Horned Frogs as they drop back under .500 overall. The non-conference loss is almost unforgivable, and then to follow that off with a heartbreaking loss at home is crushing. #25 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 15-4, 6-1 Big East. 1/20/27 vs. Seton Hall (W 86-66). 1/23/27 vs. Villanova (W 67-54). 2 dominating wins for the Red Storm, who continue to take care of business. They'll get a road test next week though. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 9-7, 4-2 Big Sky. 1/21/27 at Portland State (W 57-49). 1/23/27 vs. Montana State (W 69-46). The Hornets have now won 3 of their last 4, and quite honestly in looking at the upcoming schedule, they shouldn't lose another game for quite a while. Key word is shouldn't. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 13-5, 4-2 Big Ten. 1/20/27 vs. #18 Ohio State (L 81-49). 1/23/27 vs. Michigan State (W 89-79). A split for the Wildcats, and they won't be forgetting that loss to Ohio State anytime soon. Ouch! FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 12-6, 5-1 Conference USA. 1/21/27 vs. Rice (W 64-63). 1/23/27 at North Texas (W 63-55). It wasn't the easiest week for the Golden Panthers, but they survive and get 2 wins, as they've won 8 of their last 9 and are doing what they need to do. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 15-5, 11-1 MAAC. 1/22/27 at Marist (W 70-58). Just 1 game this week for the Stags, but they keep on winning, on the road against a decent Marist team. Next week they go out of conference for a road game, then back in conference for a road game. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 9-10, 4-4 Mountain West. 1/20/27 at San Diego State (W 89-81). 1/23/27 vs. Boise State (W 64-45). A good week for the Spartans as they get 2 wins, including a win over a good Boise State team. They got a big road test next week though. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 7-12, 4-5 Northeast. 1/23/27 vs. Robert Morris (W 63-58). It didn't come easy but the Bulldogs get a win in their only game of the week, breaking a 3 game losing streak, as Coach Nielsen edges closer to career win #200. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 14-5, 7-2 Northeast. 1/21/27 vs. Fairleigh Dickinson (W 63-36). 1/23/27 vs. Mt. St. Mary's (W 68-58). 2 more wins for the Seahawks, who have won 5 in a row after losing 2 of 3 in late December-early January. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 13-5, 4-2 Pac 12. 1/21/27 at #24 Gonzaga (W 79-56). 1/23/27 vs. Colorado (W 69-55). 2 more wins for the Cardinal, as they get back to form after 2 losses last week. #4 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 14-2, 5-1 Pac 12. 1/21/27 at Washington (W 79-74). 1/23/27 vs. Arizona State (W 70-64). 2 more wins for the Bruins this week, but they struggled a bit in both of them. A huge showdown with Arizona looms next week. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-9, 3-3 Pac 12. 1/21/27 at #18 Arizona (L 69-42). 1/23/27 vs. Oregon State (W 82-79). The Cougars are still struggling, even though they managed a split this week. They were completely overmatched against a ranked Arizona team, then barely beat an Oregon State team that has 4 wins on the season. Could be another long season for Coach St. John. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 10-8, 6-0 SEC. 1/20/27 at Auburn (W 84-66). 1/23/27 at Missouri (W 80-72). 2 more wins for the Crimson Tide, who have completely turned things around. After losing 6 of their last 7 non-conference games, they are the only undefeated team in conference play. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 7-11, 4-3 SWAC. 1/18/27 at Mississippi Valley State (L 88-70). 1/23/27 at Arkansas Pine Bluff- feature game, highlighted above. A split for the Hornets, who are still struggling to find some consistency as they have still lost 4 of their last 6. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 7-12, 4-3 SWAC. 1/18/27 vs. Alabama A&M (W 98-88). 1/23/27 vs. Alabama State- feature game, highlighted above. A split for the Golden Lions, who see their 4 game win streak come to an end with the loss against Alabama State. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 12-7, 7-3 Sun Belt. 1/21/27 vs. Arkansas Little Rock (W 74-73). They had to come from behind to do it, but the Trojans win their only game of the week by the slimmest of margins. They are hot right now, winners of 8 of their last 9. Their only loss in that 9 game stretch was a 1 point loss. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 12-8, 5-4 WCC. 1/18/27 vs. UC Irvine (L 73-58). 1/23/27 at BYU (L 72-58). 2 more losses for the Toreros this week, as they've lost 3 in a row. 1 of those losses this week was a non-conference loss. At least they were consistent, scoring 58 points in each game and giving up just 1 more point to UC Irvine than they did BYU. Here's a look at the national top 25 as we head into the week of Jan. 25-31: Code:

Jan. 25-31, 2027
38 games on the schedule this week, with one of those being a feature game. Let's head over to the Northeast Conference: 1/30/27- Wagner (Will Brown) @ Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- This one was close at halftime, but Wagner pulled away in the 2nd half, thanks to attempting (and making) more shots, thanks to a 38-31 rebounding edge. Wagner stays hot in the Northeast Conference. Final Score: Wagner- 73, Bryant- 61 Now we head to the rest of the weekly recap: #11 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 17-4, 7-2 ACC. 1/27/27 vs. N.C. State (W 81-74). 1/30/27 vs. #25 Florida State (W 85-77). The Fighting Irish continue to stay hot as they win 2 more games this week, and Coach Mighty is definitely having the kind of season he needs to have, especially being on the hot seat. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 10-11, 3-4 Atlantic Sun. 1/28/27 vs. Jacksonville (W 78-63). 1/30/27 vs. Lipscomb (L 88-82, OT). Another split for the Ospreys who continue to hover around the .500 mark overall and in conference. The Lipscomb game is one that could haunt them, as they had an 8 point halftime lead. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 9-12, 2-7 Big 12. 1/25/27 vs. Iowa State (L 74-58). 1/30/27 vs. #1 Baylor (L 89-77). Tough week for the Horned Frogs, who had to play 2 of the Big 12's best. Decent efforts, but not nearly good enough as the losing streak reaches 6. #16 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 16-5, 7-2 Big East. 1/27/27 at Georgetown (L 89-69). 1/30/27 at Marquette (W 94-84). The Red Storm split this week, losing their 2nd conference game of the season. They lost to a very good team though, as Coach Hoo knows how tough the Big East is. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 11-7, 6-2 Big Sky. 1/28/27 vs. Montana (W 76-55). 1/30/27 vs. Idaho (W 74-63). The Hornets continue to win the games they should win, as they get 2 more this week, and continue to take advantage of a weak conference. #24 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 15-5, 6-2 Big Ten. 1/27/27 at Nebraska (W 78-72). 1/30/27 at Penn State (W 89-71). 2 more wins for the Wildcats, as they get 2 on the road this week. They didn't play their best basketball at Nebraska, but really turned up the heat at Penn State. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 13-7, 6-2 Conference USA. 1/28/27 vs. North Texas (L 64-60). 1/30/27 vs. Florida Atlantic (W 97-71). A split for the Golden Panthers this week, as they took out their frustrations on Florida Atlantic after the upset loss to North Texas, a team that had just beaten on the road. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 16-7, 12-2 MAAC. 1/25/27 at Seton Hall (L 79-70). 1/29/27 at Monmouth (W 69-58). 1/31/27 vs. Rider (L 79-72). Tough week for the Stags as they drop 2 out of 3, but 1 of those losses was a non conference loss. Next week is a big game against the 2nd place team in the conference. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 10-11, 4-5 Mountain West. 1/27/27 at Bradley (W 64-59). 1/30/27 at #20 New Mexico (L 77-73). A split for the Spartans this week, as they get a non-conference win, then lose a tough one at a ranked New Mexico team in which they just couldn't get over the hump. They are still playing better than expected though. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 8-13, 5-6 Northeast. 1/28/27 vs. Central Connecticut (W 63-56). 1/30/27 vs. Wagner- feature game, highlighted above. A split for the Bulldogs, as Coach Nielsen edges closer to win #200, and is right around the team goal of finishing .500 in conference. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 16-5, 9-2 Northeast. 1/28/27 at Robert Morris (W 97-63). 1/30/27 at Bryant- feature game, highlighted above. Another dominating week for the Seahawks, who have won 7 in a row and 8 of their last 9. They are up by a couple games in the conference and appear to be showing no signs of letting that go. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 15-5, 6-2 Pac 12. 1/28/27 at Washington (W 75-67). 1/30/27 at Oregon State (W 69-61). 2 more wins for the Cardinal as they have rebounded nicely from those losses to Arizona and UCLA a couple weeks ago, keeping them in the early hunt for a Pac 12 title. #5 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 14-4, 5-3 Pac 12. 1/28/27 at #12 Arizona (L 65-56). 1/30/27 vs. Oregon (L 63-62). Not a good week for the Bruins as they drop 2 tough games. First they blew a 7 point halftime lead against Arizona, then they dropped a heartbreaker to Oregon. They have plenty of chances in the coming weeks to get momentum back on their side. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-11, 3-5 Pac 12. 1/28/27 vs. Gonzaga (L 62-53). 1/30/27 vs. Colorado (L 73-64). A pair of 9 point losses for the Cougars this week, as they drop back under .500 in conference play and continue to struggle to earn their first postseason berth in this dynasty. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 11-9, 7-1 SEC. 1/27/27 vs. Missouri (L 83-75). 1/30/27 at Ole Miss (W 68-55). A split for the Crimson Tide who drop their first SEC game of the season, but recover nicely with a win. They look to continue to improve and stay on top of the conference after a tough non-conference slate. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 8-12, 5-4 SWAC. 1/25/27 vs. Texas Southern (W 90-67). 1/30/27 vs. Prairie View A&M (L 75-66). Another split for the Hornets, who are still over .500 in conference play, but have absolutely no consistency on their side as they continue the win one/lose one pattern. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 8-13, 5-4 SWAC. 1/25/27 at Jackson State (W 75-66). 1/30/27 at Grambling State (L 97-87). Another split for the Golden Lions, who have lost 2 of 3 after a brief 4 game winning streak. They are struggling to find some consistency in what is notoriously a pretty weak conference. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 13-8, 8-3 Sun Belt. 1/28/27 at Clemson (L 92-87). 1/30/27 vs. UL Lafayette (W 90-83). A split for the Trojans as they lose a tough non-conference game to Clemson, but they get a big conference win to stay right amongst the conference leaders. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 14-8, 7-4 WCC. 1/28/27 vs. USC (W 68-57). 1/30/27 vs. Portland (W 84-79). 2 more wins for the Toreros, much needed wins, as they stay in the top 3 in the conference. They are also looking to build some consistency. Here's a look at the national top 25 heading into the week of Feb. 1-7: Code:
And a look at the mid-major top 25 going into the week of Feb. 1-7: Code:
We're not done! As we move into February, it's time to announce the first edition of the Bubble Watch for the 2026-2027 season. First, the overall bubble watch, which sees 2 of our teams in it. Code:
There isn't a lot of difference between FIU and San Diego at this point. FIU is 6-6 against the top 200 RPI teams, while San Diego is 10-6 against top 200 RPI teams. FIU has a better RPI and SOS, but honestly I'm not quite sure how. Either way, both teams need to continue to pile up wins, and most importantly, they need to beat any teams they might face the rest of the season with an RPI of 100 or better. Now we look at the rest of the bubble watch: Locks: Notre Dame, St. John's, Northwestern, UCLA, Stanford. Keep in mind that this Bubble Watch is only for the NCAA Tournament. It does not include the NIT, CBI, or CIT. It also does not take into account possible automatic bids. It is strictly a Bubble watch for the chances of teams to get an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. That is why teams like Notre Dame are on there, because even if they don't win their conference tournament, they are sure to get an at-large bid. That is also why teams like Wagner are listed out. If Wagner wins the conference regular season but doesn't win the conference tournament, they would likely miss the NCAA Tournament. I know I explain this every season, but I wanted to just make sure that we all understood, as sometimes it's tough for me to see a team like Wagner projected out. |

Feb. 1-7, 2027
36 games on the schedule this week, but no feature games, so we'll roll right into the weekly schedule. #6 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 18-4, 8-2 1st ACC. 2/3/27 vs. Wake Forest (W 75-42). Just 1 game for the Fighting Irish this week, but they continue to roll. Next week they have a tough one though. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 11-12, 4-4 T-4th Atlantic Sun. 2/3/27 vs. College of Charleston (L 74-73). 2/6/27 vs. NJIT (W 87-78). The Ospreys split at home this week, barely missing a non-conference win, but getting back to .500 in conference play. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 9-14, 2-9 10th (last) Big 12. 2/1/27 at Texas (L 75-58). 2/6/27 at Oklahoma (L 72-64). 2 more losses for the Horned Frogs, and Coach Mighty is starting to seriously wonder about his job security, as things aren't good right now. #22 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 17-6, 8-3 2nd Big East. 2/3/27 vs. Xavier (W 94-59). 2/6/27 vs. Butler (L 87-77). The Red Storm split at home this week, including a bad loss to an under .500 Butler team. These are the type of games they can't be losing if they want to be a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 13-7, 8-2 T-1st Big Sky. 2/4/27 vs. Northern Arizona (W 71-57). 2/6/27 vs. Portland State (W 76-58). A couple dominating wins for the Hornets, who are starting to roll, winners of 6 in a row. #18 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 17-5, 8-2 T-1st Big Ten. 2/3/27 vs. Rutgers (W 73-63). 2/6/27 at Michigan State (W 99-67). 2 dominating performances by the Wildcats who have won 5 in a row since the 32 point loss to Ohio State. They are playing good basketball, albeit not against the best competition. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 14-8, 7-3 T-2nd Conference USA. 2/4/27 at Western Kentucky (W 70-56). 2/6/27 at UTEP (L 50-47). The Golden Panthers split this week, losing a tough one to conference leader UTEP, a game in which they battled all the way. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 17-8, 13-3 1st MAAC. 2/5/27 vs. Manhattan (L 78-76). 2/7/27 vs. Siena (W 62-58). A split for the Stags, who remain on top of the conference race with 4 games to play. They are still in good shape. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 11-12, 5-6 T-6th Mountain West. 2/3/27 vs. Nevada (W 108-99, OT). 2/6/27 at Wyoming (L 93-86). Another split for the Spartans, who for the 3rd straight year under the Coach Shepard era will pretty convincingly stay out of the cellar. Although the record hasn't been great, don't be surprised to see Thomas get some looks elsewhere in the next couple seasons. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 8-15, 5-8 T-7th Northeast. 2/4/27 at Fairleigh Dickinson (L 62-49). 2/6/27 at Mt. St. Mary's (L 96-53). 2 more losses for the Bulldogs, both on the road, and they were hammered at Mt. St. Mary's. They'll need to get it turned around quick. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 18-5, 11-2 1st Northeast. 2/4/27 vs. Sacred Heart (W 67-63). 2/6/27 vs. St. Francis (PA) (W 72-59). 2 more wins for the Seahawks, who continue to roll, as they've won 9 games in a row, and avenge an early January loss to St. Francis (PA). #23 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 16-6, 7-3 T-1st Pac 12. 2/4/27 vs. California (W 93-68). 2/6/27 at Colorado (L 83-75). A split for the Cardinal, who see a 5 game winning streak stopped at Colorado. #9 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 16-4, 7-3 T-1st Pac 12. 2/4/27 at Oregon (W 95-72). 2/6/27 at California (W 69-67). The Bruins win 2 on the road this week, getting a late stop to hang on at Cal and keep a grip on 1st place in the conference. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-13, 3-7 11th Pac 12. 2/4/27 vs. Utah (L 67-65). 2/6/27 vs. #8 Arizona (L 69-49). 2 more home losses for the Cougars, and that's 4 in a row and 5 of 6. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 13-9, 9-1 1st SEC. 2/3/27 at Florida (W 71-69). 2/6/27 vs. Texas A&M (W 98-76). 2 more wins for the Crimson Tide, who have really turned it on in what is a pretty week SEC this season, but the fact is they are winning and are putting themselves in a good position. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 8-13, 5-5 5th SWAC. 2/6/27 vs. Alabama A&M (L 95-73). Just 1 game for the Hornets, who get blasted against A&M, falling back to .500 in conference play. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 8-15, 5-6 T-6th SWAC. 2/1/27 at Texas Southern (L 86-79). 2/6/27 at Prairie View A&M (L 81-67). 2 more losses for the Golden Lions, who have now last 4 of their last 5 and are back under .500 in conference play. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 15-8, 10-3 T-2nd Sun Belt. 2/4/27 at Arkansas Little Rock (W 85-70). 2/6/27 at Appalachian State (W 98-63). 2 convincing road wins for the Trojans who stay in the Sun Belt hunt, but still 7 conference games left. Troy should be favored in most of them. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 16-8, 9-4 2nd WCC. 2/4/27 at St. Mary's (W 85-71). 2/6/27 at Pacific (W 62-54). 2 more wins for the Toreros, as they try to take hold of 2nd place (1st place may be a stretch as Pepperdine has only 1 conference loss) and get to the postseason. Here's a look at the national top 25 heading into the week of Feb. 8-14: Code:
Here's a look at the Mid-Major Top 25 heading into the week of Feb. 8-14: Code:
Here's a look at the Overall Bubble Watch, which sees 2 of our teams listed: Code:
FIU and San Diego were on the bubble last week, and both of them made jumps. FIU is now a little more safely in, while San Diego is also projected in. Both teams have work to do though, and San Diego could be hampered by a tough SOS and RPI. Now a look at the rest of the Bubble Watch: Locks: Notre Dame, St. John's, Northwestern, UCLA, Stanford The only change from last week is San Diego going from being projected out to being projected in. Everything else, exactly the same. |

Feb. 8-14, 2027
36 games on the schedule this week, with 1 feature game. Let's head to the Pac 12 to start: 2/11/27- #23 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) @ Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- Not much to talk about in this one, as Stanford turned a 13 point halftime lead into a 30 point win, forcing 17 turnovers and holding the Cougars to 31.5% shooting. Final Score: #23 Stanford- 70, Washington State- 40 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #6 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 20-4, 10-2 1st ACC. 2/10/27 at #21 Duke (W 79-76). 2/13/27 at Virginia Tech (W 76-68). 2 more wins for the Fighting Irish, who are having a spectacular season. They only play 1 more ranked team the rest of the regular season, so they are in a really good spot. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 13-12, 6-4 4th Atlantic Sun. 2/11/27 at USC Upstate (W 79-77). 2/13/27 at UL Monroe (W 75-73). 2 much needed wins for the Ospreys as they have 4 games left in the regular season, and really need to win all of them to have a chance at the postseason. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 10-15, 3-10 10th (last) Big 12. 2/8/27 vs. Oklahoma State (W 79-65). 2/13/27 vs. West Virginia (L 59-55). A split for the Horned Frogs, who at least break an 8 game losing streak with the win over Oklahoma State, but then start a new losing streak. Not looking good for Coach Mighty. #24 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 17-7, 8-4 3rd Big East. 2/13/27 vs. Creighton (L 83-75). Another loss for the Red Storm, that's 2 in a row, and they are definitely struggling a bit late in the season. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 14-8, 9-3 2nd Big Sky. 2/11/27 vs. Weber State (L 87-79). 2/13/27 at Idaho (W 52-30). A split for the Hornets, as Coach Ginsberg edges that much closer to career win #200. #11 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 19-5, 10-2 1st Big Ten. 2/10/27 at Minnesota (W 96-94, OT). 2/13/27 at #5 Indiana (W 92-88). 2 tough wins for the Wildcats who are now all alone in first place in the Big Ten. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 15-9, 8-4 T-2nd Conference USA. 2/11/27 at Southern Miss (L 84-72). 2/13/27 vs. Charlotte (W 74-66). A split for the Golden Panthers, who are definitely off course from last season, but Coach Hawkins is still doing pretty well, and a lot of winnable games left. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 19-8, 15-3 1st MAAC. 2/12/27 vs. Monmouth (W 89-54). 2/14/27 vs. St. Peter's (W 88-73). 2 more wins for the Stags, and with 2 games left in conference play, they just need 1 more win to clinch the conference title. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 11-14, 5-8 T-8th Mountain West. 2/10/27 vs. San Diego State (L 72-61). 2/13/27 vs. #19 New Mexico (L 94-75). Tough week for the Spartans, who dropped a couple games in blowout fashion. They still have a fairly tough schedule coming up, but still should be able to meet the goal of not finish last in the conference. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 8-17, 5-10 T-7th Northeast. 2/11/27 vs. LIU Brooklyn (L 94-86). 2/13/27 vs. St. Francis (NY) (L 71-63). 2 more losses for the Bulldogs, and that's 5 in a row now. The Coach Nielsen experiment at Bryant is a disaster so far, but at least he should be in a grace period this year. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 20-5, 12-2 1st Northeast. 2/11/27 at Oral Roberts (W 71-54). 2/13/27 at Central Connecticut (W 77-60). 2 easy wins for the Seahawks this week, including a non-conference win at Oral Roberts, very impressive. #23 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 18-6, 9-3 T-1st Pac 12. 2/11/27 at Washington State- feature game, highlighted above. 2/13/27 vs. Gonzaga (W 86-71). 2 more wins for the Cardinal, who stay in the hunt for a Pac 12 title, but still a lot of season left. #7 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 18-4, 9-3 T-1st Pac 12. 2/11/27 vs. Oregon State (W 74-61). 2/13/27 vs. Washington (W 84-69). Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-15, 3-9 11th Pac 12. 2/11/27 vs. #23 Stanford- feature game, highlighted above. 2/13/27 at Colorado (L 72-59). 2 more losses for the Cougars, and that makes 6 in a row and 7 of 8. Doesn't look like this will be the season that Washington State breaks the postseason drought. The Bruins stay hot, winning their 3rd and 4th in a row. All this could be leading up to a big showdown with Stanford at the end of the month. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 14-10, 10-2 T-1st SEC. 2/10/27 vs. Georgia (L 67-52). 2/13/27 vs. Vanderbilt (W 94-71). The Crimson Tide had a chance to take control of the SEC, but lost to the co-leaders Georgia early in the week. Unfortunately with the bad non-conference record, they need to finish as high in the SEC as possible. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 10-13, 7-5 5th SWAC. 2/8/27 at Jackson State (W 64-57). 2/13/27 at Grambling State (W 86-77). 2 big wins for the Hornets, who get back over .500 in the conference, just 1 game behind the leaders. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 10-15, 7-6 6th SWAC. 2/8/27 vs. Alcorn State (W 100-97). 2/13/27 vs. Southern (W 116-72). The Golden Lions brought the offense this week, scoring in triple digits in both of their wins, also jumping above .500 in conference play. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 16-9, 11-4 3rd Sun Belt. 2/11/27 at Arkansas State (L 73-71). 2/13/27 at Texas State (W 74-71). A road split for the Trojans, as they battle in 2 tough games, and are now in 3rd place, 1 game behind the leaders. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 18-8, 11-4 2nd WCC. 2/11/27 vs. San Francisco (W 92-84). 2/13/27 vs. Santa Clara (W 86-75). The Toreros are getting closer to locking up 2nd place in the conference after 2 more wins this week. 1st will take a miracle, as the conference leaders have just 1 conference loss, and 3rd would take a major collapse, as Coach Shocker has his team a good 2 games ahead. A wonderful season thus far. Here's a look at the national top 25 going into the week of Feb. 15-21: Code:
Kudos to Wagner for getting some votes in the national polls! Now a look at the mid-major top 25 going into the week of Feb. 15-21: Code:
Here's a look at the Overall Bubble Watch, which again features 2 of our teams: Code:
No change for FIU, who sees their SOS and RPI jump up a couple spots, but are still in the Last Four In category. San Diego, on the other hand, has a huge jump. They seem to be getting rewarded for the success of Pepperdine in the conference, as the Toreros have a much, much lower SOS and RPi than FIU. Regardless, if both continue to win, they will both be in the big dance. Now for the rest of the teams: Locks: Notre Dame, St. John's, Northwestern, UCLA, Stanford No change, and I don't see much change coming in the last couple weeks, unless 1 team just really takes off, or totally falls apart. |

Feb. 15-21, 2027
33 games on the schedule this week, with 2 feature games. Let's start in the SWAC. 2/15/27- Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) @ Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- A heck of a game here, but it was won at the free throw line. Alabama State got to the line a few more times, and made more free throws, and that was the difference. Final Score: Alabama State- 85, Arkansas Pine Bluff- 78 And onward to the Pac 12: 2/20/27- Washington State (DeShawn St. John) @ #5 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- Not much to talk about in this one. UCLA scored the same amount of points in the first half than the Cougars did all game. Total domination as Washington State turned it over 20 times. Final Score: #5 UCLA- 88, Washington State- 55 Now onto the rest of the weekly recap: #4 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 22-4, 12-2 1st ACC. 2/17/27 vs. Miami (W 76-63). 2/20/27 at Georgia Tech (W 71-43). 2 more wins for the Fighting Irish who just continue to roll, as Coach Mighty is having a dream season. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 14-13, 7-5 4th Atlantic Sun. 2/18/27 vs. Stetson (W 72-62). 2/20/27 vs. Kennesaw State (L 77-70). The Ospreys split this week, seeing their 4 game win streak coming to an end at the hand of the conference leaders. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 11-15, 4-10 T-8th Big 12. 2/20/27 at Texas Tech (W 69-46). Just 1 game for the Horned Frogs this week, and they got a win they badly needed. Especially since next week their 2 opponents are a combined 45-11. Oof! St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 19-7, 10-4 2nd Big East. 2/17/27 at Villanova (W 77-65). 2/20/27 at Seton Hall (W 91-77). 2 wins for the Red Storm, as they break a short 2 game losing streak. 2 of their remaining 4 regular season games are going to be huge tests, so we'll see which Coach Hoo team shows up. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 16-8, 11-3 T-1st Big Sky. 2/18/27 at Eastern Washington (W 62-48). 2/20/27 at North Dakota (W 75-70). 2 more wins for the Hornets, 2 solid road wins. They are now tied for first place in the conference, and the win at North Dakota was career win #200 for Coach Ginsberg! #7 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 21-5, 12-2 1st Big Ten. 2/17/27 vs. Iowa (W 84-55). 2/20/27 vs. Purdue (W 69-58). 2 more wins for the Wildcats who continue to hold their lead in the conference, but 3 of their next 4 games will be challenges. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 16-10, 9-5 T-3rd Conference USA. 2/18/27 vs. Marshall (W 76-61). 2/20/27 at Louisiana Tech (L 62-53). A split for the Golden Panthers, who are falling further and further out of contention, now sitting in a tie for 3rd. Coach Hawkins is going to have to give his team a big push at the end of the season. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 19-9, 15-4 1st MAAC. 2/19/27 at Niagara (L 75-57). Just 1 game this week for the Stags, and they didn't show up, getting hammered at Niagara. They have clinched a share of the conference title but still need to win their last conference game to win the title outright. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 11-15, 5-9 10th Mountain West. 2/17/27 vs. #13 Colorado State (L 84-75). A decent effort for the Spartans in their only game of the week, but they were still no match for the conference leaders. With 4 games left, all are winnable, and getting closer to a .500 record would go a long way. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 8-19, 5-11 T-8th Northeast. 2/18/27 at #1 Providence (L 75-56). 2/20/27 at Robert Morris (L 75-53). 2 more losses for the Bulldogs, as that's 7 in a row and 10 of their last 12. Poor Coach Nielsen is just not having a fun time right now, and it's possible he will be back on the job hunt if things don't change in a hurry. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 21-6, 13-3 1st Northeast. 2/18/27 at Mt. St. Mary's (L 71-64). 2/20/27 at Fairleigh Dickinson (W 58-40). The streak is over for the Seahawks, as their loss at Mt. St. Mary's ended an 11 game winning streak. No matter, they've already clinched the regular season conference title, and are now playing for the best possible postseason spot they can get. #23 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 20-6, 11-3 T-1st Pac 12. 2/18/27 vs. Oregon State (W 64-55). 2/20/27 vs. Arizona State (W 74-51). 2 more wins for the Cardinal, who are still fighting with UCLA for the top spot in the conference. #5 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 20-4, 11-3 T-1st Pac 12. 2/18/27 vs. Colorado (W 92-84). 2/20/27 vs. Washington State- feature game, highlighted above. 2 more wins for the Bruins as they stay even with Stanford, setting up a huge game next week. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-17, 3-11 11th Pac 12. 2/18/27 at Arizona State (L 77-70, OT). 2/20/27 at #5 UCLA- feature game, highlighted above. 2 more losses for the Cougars, who have now lost 8 in a row and 9 of 10. The struggles are back, and next week they have a big game against the conference cellar dwellers, where the loser is likely to finish last in the conference. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 16-10, 12-2 T-1st SEC. 2/17/27 vs. South Carolina (W 58-46). 2/20/27 at Tennessee (W 80-70). The Crimson Tide continue to make noise in the conference, including a very important win at Tennessee. They could still win 20 games this season, which would be remarkable the way their non-conference slate went. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 12-13, 9-5 T-3rd SWAC. 2/15/27 vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff- feature game, highlighted above. 2/20/27 vs. Mississippi Valley State (W 85-75). 2 more wins for the Hornets, as they are getting hot at the right time of the season. The schedule is favorable for a strong finish, if they can continue this type of play. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 10-17, 7-8 6th SWAC. 2/15/27 at Alabama State- feature game, highlighted above. 2/20/27 at Alabama A&M (L 88-77). 2 more losses for the Golden Lions, as this has been a season to forget for Coach Gunn. At least he can take solace in knowing that Hawaii has not improved since he was fired a couple seasons ago. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 17-10, 12-5 3rd Sun Belt. 2/18/27 vs. Northern Kentucky (W 83-69). 2/20/27 vs. Texas State (L 82-69). A split for the Trojans, who still stay in the hunt for the conference title, but really need to win their last 3 regular season games to have a chance. At least 2 of 3. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 19-9, 11-5 2nd WCC. 2/15/27 at The Citadel (W 86-83). 2/20/27 vs. BYU (L 86-75). The Toreros split this week, winning out of conference but losing in conference. No matter, their 2nd seed in the WCC Tournament is locked up, it can't change. They do have a chance next week to take out the conference leaders, so hopefully they bring their A game. Here's a look at the Overall Bubble Watch, which sees 3 of our teams in it this week: Code:
Alabama is projected to be in the NCAA Tournament for the first time all season, and it's all due to their performance in the SEC. They are 8-6 against teams in the RPI Top 100. FIU is now in the First Four Out, as splits aren't working for them anymore. They need to finish strong or they could be looking at the NIT, despite the strong SOS and RPI. Ditto for San Diego, who jumped all the way from almost being off the bubble, to being in the First Four Out. With their not so hot RPI and SOS, they definitely can't afford anymore setbacks. Now for the rest of the Bubble Watch: Locks: Notre Dame, St. John's, Northwestern, UCLA, Stanford Alabama goes from being projected definitely out to on the bubble and projected in. FIU and San Diego are both still on the bubble, but have gone from being in to being in the First Four Out. |

Feb. 22-28, 2027
36 games on the schedule this week, with 1 feature game. Let's first head to the Pac 12. 2/27/27- #8 UCLA (Tim Shepard) @ #18 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- A pretty tight one, but UCLA hit 13 three pointers to pull away late, taking control of the conference and getting a big road win. Final Score: #8 UCLA- 76, #18 Stanford- 68 Now to the rest of the weekly recap: #4 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 23-5, 13-3 1st ACC. 2/24/27 vs. Pittsburgh (L 68-59). 2/27/27 at Virginia (W 81-78). The Fighting Irish split this week, missing a golden opportunity to take a 2 game lead in the conference with 2 games to go. Still, if they can win both games next week, they can win the conference outright. Winning 1 game next week would assure themselves of at least a share. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 15-14, 8-6 T-3rd Atlantic Sun. 2/25/27 at Jacksonville (W 77-63). 2/27/27 at Lipscomb (L 76-67). A split for the Ospreys, who finish in a tie for 3rd in the conference. They've won the tiebreaker and will get the 3rd seed in the Atlantic Sun Tournament, opening up against the team that just beat them, 6th seed Lipscomb. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 11-17, 4-12 T-10th (T-last) Big 12. 2/22/27 at #2 Baylor (L 74-47). 2/27/27 at #24 Iowa State (L 85-54). The Horned Frogs go on the road and get hammered against 2 ranked teams this week. Coach Mighty is in serious jeopardy of losing his job if things don't turn around in a hurry. #20 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 20-8, 11-5 T-2nd Big East. 2/24/27 vs. Marquette (W 92-64). 2/27/27 vs. #16 Georgetown (L 87-83). A split for the Red Storm, who have a huge task next week as they take on the #1 team in the nation. They are still fighting for a good postseason seed. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 17-9, 12-4 T-1st Big Sky. 2/25/27 at Montana State (W 78-70). 2/27/27 vs. Idaho State (L 70-64). Another split for the Hornets, who remain tied for the conference lead with 2 final games next week. #6 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 22-6, 13-3 1st Big Ten. 2/24/27 at Maryland (W 75-68). 2/27/27 at #3 Wisconsin (L 80-68). A split for the Wildcats, who drop a tough one at Wisconsin, but still hold a 1 game lead in the conference with 2 to play. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 17-11, 10-6 T-3rd Conference USA. 2/25/27 vs. Old Dominion (W 59-49). 2/27/27 vs. George Mason (L 77-69). Another split for the Golden Panthers, who are on the short end of a 3 way tie for 3rd right now. They are going to need to win both next week and get a lot of help. However, if they lose both, well they could fall way down in the conference. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 19-11, 15-5 T-2nd MAAC. 2/23/27 vs. Princeton (L 90-79). 2/26/27 at Quinnipiac (L 87-67). The Stags lose 2 more this week, ending the regular season on a 3 game losing streak. After starting 9-0 in the conference, they go 6-5 the rest of the way. They win a share of the MAAC Title, but due to tiebreakers, will be the #2 seed in the MAAC Tournament and open up against the winner between 10th seed Iona and 7th seed Marist. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 13-15, 7-9 T-6th Mountain West. 2/24/27 at Utah State (W 68-66). 2/27/27 at Boise State (W 78-76, OT). A pair of 2 point road wins for the Spartans this week as they still have a chance to finish .500 overall and in the conference. Regardless, they will once again beat the prediction of last place in the conference. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 10-19, 7-11 T-7th Northeast. 2/25/27 at St. Francis (PA) (W 69-54). 2/27/27 at Sacred Heart (W 62-57). The Bulldogs finish the regular season on a high note, winning their last 2 games and qualifying for the Northeast Tournament. They tie for 7th but lose the tiebreaker and will be the 8th seed. They'll take on top seed Wagner in the first round. Barring a couple upsets, Coach Nielsen will have to wait until next season to get career win #200. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 23-6, 15-3 1st Northeast. 2/25/27 vs. LIU Brooklyn (W 75-51). 2/27/27 vs. St. Francis (NY) (W 90-77). 2 easy victories to finish off the regular season for the Seahawks. They win the Northeast regular season title in easy fashion and will be the top seed in the Northeast Tournament, where they will take on 8th seed Bryant. #18 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 21-7, 12-4 2nd Pac 12. 2/25/27 vs. Oregon (W 76-57). 2/27/27 vs. #8 UCLA- feature game, highlighted above. A split for the Cardinal, who just need to win 1 game next week to clinch 2nd place. If they can win both and have UCLA slip up, they could still win the Pac 12 Title. #8 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 22-4, 13-3 1st Pac 12. 2/25/27 at Arizona State (W 75-62). 2/27/27 at #18 Stanford- feature game, highlighted above. 2 more wins for the Bruins, including a big win over Stanford. They control their own destiny: 1 win next week clinches a share of the Pac 12 Title, 2 wins clinches it outright. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-19, 3-13 12th (last) Pac 12. 2/25/27 at Oregon State (L 71-49). 2/27/27 vs. Washington (L 61-45). 2 more losses for the Cougars. That's 10 in a row, including a 22 point drubbing against the cellar dwellars (at the time). This season can't get over fast enough for Coach St. John. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 17-11, 13-3 T-1st SEC. 2/24/27 vs. LSU (L 80-69). 2/27/27 at Arkansas (W 76-61). A split for the Crimson Tide, who still control their own destiny. They really need to win both next week, doing so would clinch at least a share of the SEC Title. They need all the help they can get, but have a tough road game at Kentucky to end the regular season. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 14-13, 11-5 2nd SWAC. 2/22/27 at Prairie View A&M (W 80-69). 2/27/27 at Texas Southern (W 81-76). 2 more wins for the Hornets, who are starting to roll, winners of 6 in a row and 8 of their last 10. They are still in the hunt for the SWAC regular season title, but need to win both next week and get help. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 11-18, 8-9 6th SWAC. 2/22/27 vs. Grambling State (L 84-79). 2/27/27 vs. Jackson State (W 78-68). The Golden Lions have 1 more regular season game, winning it will give them a .500 conference record, a far cry from preseason predictions. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 17-11, 12-6 3rd Sun Belt. 2/25/27 at Florida Gulf Coast (L 88-77). Just 1 game for the Trojans this week, a tough loss. They have 2 more games next week and can't win the Sun Belt regular season title. They'll finish somewhere between 2nd and 4th. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 21-9, 13-5 2nd WCC. 2/25/27 at #15 Pepperdine (W 77-61). 2/27/27 at Loyola Marymount (W 77-63). 2 big road wins for the Toreros this week as they beat the conference's top team and nationally ranked Pepperdine. This gives them a ton of momentum going into the WCC Tournament. They'll go in as the 2nd seed and take on the winner of a First Round game between 10th seed St. Mary's and 7th seed Santa Clara. Here's a look at the Overall Bubble Watch, which sees 3 of our teams: Code:
San Diego is in a good position, but not great. With that SOS, they really need to win at least 1 game in the WCC Tournament. 2 to really feel safe. Alabama just needs to find a way to win at Kentucky. That is the best game they have left. A win there will go a long way. They also need to have a good showing in the SEC tournament. Their SOS and RPI is among the best of the bubble teams, but anymore losses, and they could be out. FIU doesn't have that bad of an RPI, nor SOS. Unfortunately for them, they don't play in a power conference, which means they need win both games next week, and get a win or 2 in the C-USA Tournament to feel safe, otherwise it's probably NIT for them. Now a look at the other teams: Locks: Notre Dame, St. John's, Northwestern, UCLA, Stanford The only change this week is San Diego, who stays on the bubble, but goes from projected out to projected in. |

March 1-7, 2027
34 games on the schedule, with a few conference tournament games, and 1 feature game. Let's get to it, staring in the Northeast: 3/3/27- Northeast Quarterfinal - (8) Bryant (Rob Nielsen) vs. (1) Wagner (Will Brown) -- A definite surprise in this one, as what was a 1 point halftime lead turned into an 18 point win for Bryant, who pulls a huge stunner in the Northeast Quarterfinal. Final Score: (8) Bryant- 84, (1) Wagner- 66 Now for the rest of the weekly recap: #4 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 25-5, 15-3 1st ACC. 3/3/27 vs. Clemson (W 89-69). 3/6/27 at #18 Syracuse (W 74-68). 2 more wins for the Fighting Irish. Coach Mighty came into this season on a hot seat. I think we can forget about that now. What a turnaround, and he has to get some consideration for National Coach of the Year. Notre Dame wins the ACC regular season title and will be the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament. They will open up against either (9) Virginia Tech or (8) Louisville, getting a double bye into the Quarterfinals. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 16-15, 8-6 Atlantic Sun. 3/2/27- Atlantic Sun Quarterfinal vs. (6) Lipscomb (W 70-47). 3/4/27- Atlantic Sun Semifinal vs. (2) USC Upstate (L 75-74). A heartbreaking loss for the Ospreys, as they led by 15 at halftime in the Atlantic Sun Semifinal, but ended up losing. Just a game over .500 overall, and playing in one of the lowest rated conferences in the NCAA, any postseason chance they have.. well let's get real, they have none unfortunately. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 13-17, 6-12 T-8th Big 12. 3/1/27 vs. Kansas (W 71-51). 3/6/27 vs. Kansas State (W 54-50). 2 great wins for the Horned Frogs, who manage to stay out of the cellar. They lose the tiebreaker for the 8th seed, and will be the 9th seed in the Big 12 Tournament, opening up in a First Round game against a team they just beat, 8th seed Kansas. #24 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 21-9, 12-6 T-2nd Big East. 3/3/27 at #1 Providence (L 98-76). 3/6/27 at DePaul (W 81-79). Another split for the Red Storm to finish out the regular season. They lose a 2 way tiebreaker for 2nd place, and will be the 3rd seed in the Big East Tournament. They'll take on 6th seed Butler in a Quarterfinal game. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 19-9, 14-4 1st Big Sky. 3/4/27 vs. Northern Colorado (W 77-73). 3/6/27 at Southern Utah (W 77-44). 2 more wins for the Hornets as they go into conference tournament play with a lot of momentum. They win the Big Sky regular season title and will be the top seed in the Big Sky Tournament. They'll get a bye to the Quarterfinals and will take on the winner of a First Round game between 9th seed Montana and 8th seed Portland State. #7 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 23-7, 14-4 T-1st Big Ten. 3/3/27 vs. Michigan (W 69-64, OT). 3/6/27 vs. Illinois (L 52-41). A split for the Wildcats, and miss a chance to win the Big Ten regular season title outright with a loss in their final regular season game. They lose the tiebreaker and will be the #2 seed in the Big Ten tournament. They get a double bye into the Big Ten Quarterfinals and will take on the winner of a Second Round game between 10th seed Iowa and 7th seed Purdue. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 18-12, 11-7 5th Conference USA. 3/4/27 at Middle Tennessee (L 78-68). 3/6/27 at South Dakota State (W 62-52). Another split for the Golden Panthers, who take the 5th seed in the Conference USA Tournament and will open up with the winner of a First Round game between 13th seed North Texas and 12th seed Florida Atlantic. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 21-11, 15-5 MAAC. 3/6/27- MAAC Quarterfinal vs. (10) Iona (W 69-34). 3/7/27- MAAC Semifinal vs. (6) Niagara (W 80-64). 2 easy tournament wins for the Stags, who roll into the MAAC championship game next week against the #1 seed. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 14-16, 8-10 T-6th Mountain West. 3/3/27 at Air Force (W 81-74). 3/6/27 vs. UNLV (L 58-52). A split for the Spartans, who far exceeded expectations again this season. Unfortunately, they drew the short straw in a 3 way tie for 6th, and will be the 8th seed in the Mountain West Tournament. They'll open up against 9th seed Boise State. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 12-19, 7-11 Northeast. 3/3/27- Northeast Quarterfinal vs. (1) Wagner- feature game, highlighted above. 3/6/27- Northeast Semifinal vs. (2) Fairleigh Dickinson (W 65-56). The Bulldogs have gotten hot at the right time, taking down the top 2 seeds in the Northeast Tournament (thanks to reseeding after the quarterfinals). Coach Nielsen picked up career win #200 against Fairleigh Dickinson, and now has 1 more quest to conquer for the seemingly impossible to happen. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 23-7, 15-3 Northeast. 3/3/27- Northeast Quarterfinal vs. (8) Bryant- feature game, highlighted above. A damaging loss for the Seahawks, as even with 23 wins on the season, probably needed to win the Northeast Tournament to ensure an NCAA bid. Those are the breaks of playing in a small conference, and they are more than likely headed to the NIT. #14 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 22-8, 13-5 T-1st Pac 12. 3/4/27 at #17 Arizona (L 73-63). 3/6/27 at Utah (W 80-68). A split for the Cardinal, who can't get it done at ranked Arizona. They split the Pac 12 regular season title but lose the tiebreaker. They'll be the #2 seed in the Pac 12 Tournament, opening up against the winner of a First Round game between 10th seed Utah and 7th seed Colorado. #5 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 22-6, 13-5 T-1st Pac 12. 3/4/27 vs. Utah (L 63-55). 3/6/27 at Gonzaga (L 96-88). 2 damaging losses for the Bruins, who just needed to win 1 game this week to win the Pac 12 regular season title outright. Instead, they back their way into a share of it, and also back their way into the top seed by winning the tiebreaker. They'll be the #1 seed in the Pac 12 Tournament and open up against the winner of a First Round game between 9th seed California and 8th seed Washington. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-21, 3-15 12th (last) Pac 12. 3/4/27 vs. California (L 85-82). 3/6/27 at Oregon (L 71-49). 2 more losses for the Cougars, and they finish the regular season on a 12 game losing streak, finishing in the cellar yet again. Coach St. John has to be concerned about job security as he'll take his team to the Pac 12 Tournament as the #12 seed, taking on 5th seed Oregon in the First Round. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 18-12, 14-4 T-1st SEC. 3/3/27 at VCU (W 62-53). 3/6/27 at Kentucky (L 92-84). A split for the Crimson Tide, who miss a chance to win the SEC regular season title outright. but they still manage a share. They lose the tiebreaker though and will be the #2 seed in the SEC Tournament. They'll get a double bye into the Quarterfinals and open up against the winner of a Second Round game between 10th seed Ole Miss and 7th seed LSU. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 16-13, 13-5 1st SWAC. 3/1/27 vs. Southern (W 96-75). 3/6/27 vs. Alcorn State (W 83-65). 2 dominating wins for the Hornets, as Coach Childress takes them to the SWAC regular season title in his first season here. Work still to be done though, as they'll be the top seed in the SWAC Tournament, opening up against the winner of a First Round game between 9th seed Mississippi Valley State and 8th seed Grambling State. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 12-18, 9-9 T-5th SWAC. 3/6/27 at Mississippi Valley State (W 84-76). The Golden Lions manage to finish the regular season with a .500 record in conference. Coach Gunn has taken a huge step back this season. They lost the tiebreaker for the 5th seed and will be the #6 seed in the SWAC Tournament. They'll open up against 3rd seed Alcorn State. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 17-13, 12-8 3rd Sun Belt. 3/4/27 vs. Florida Gulf Coast (L 70-65). 3/6/27 at Georgia Southern (L 78-68). 2 more losses for the Trojans, who are limping to the finish line here. They've lost 4 in a row, and need to right the ship before the Sun Belt Tournament. They still have a shot at the postseason, and will be the #3 seed in the Sun Belt Tournament. They'll open up against the winner of a First Round game between 7th seed Arkansas Little Rock and 6th seed Appalachian State. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 22-9, 13-5 WCC. 3/6/27- WCC Quarterfinal vs. (7) Santa Clara (W 91-84). Only 1 game played this week for the Toreros, but they win their WCC Quarterfinal game and move on to the semifinals and hopefully the ship next week. Here's a look at the Overall Bubble Watch, which has 3 of our teams in it. Code:
San Diego is in a great position. Even with a loss in the WCC Semifinals, they are probably still in, unless it is a blowout loss. A win in the WCC Semifinals would almost certainly make them a lock. Alabama is only in this position because of their conference record. Their 4-8 non-conference record is hurting them. Granted, it was a tough non-con schedule, which is another reason they are still hanging in the Last Four In. They can't afford a letdown though. If they lose their first game of the SEC Tournament, they are most likely NIT bound. FIU is stumbling to the finish line. Their SOS and RPI have both taken hits this week, and it's pretty simple at this point. They aren't even in the Last Four Out, they are down to the Next Four Out, which means they need to win a minimum of 2 games in the C-USA Tournament to feel safe about an at-large bid, and they may not even be enough. Now for the rest of the Bubble Watch: Locks: Notre Dame, St. John's, Northwestern, UCLA, Stanford. No changes this week |

Mar. 8-14, 2027
Conference championship week is here, and we have 31 games on the schedule, with 1 feature game, but it's not in a conference you would expect it to be in. We'll start there: 3/13/27- SWAC Championship - (6) Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) vs. (1) Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- This one was over early, as ARPB ran off to a 25 point halftime lead. Alabama State tried to get back into it, but just didn't have enough time, as Pine Bluff pulls a shocker to win the SWAC Championship game. Final Score: (6) Arkansas Pine Bluff- 86, (1) Alabama State- 71 Now we head to the rest of the weekly recap: #5 Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 26-6, 15-3 ACC. 3/11/27- ACC Quarterfinal vs. (9) Virginia Tech (W 83-77). 3/12/27- ACC Semifinal vs. (4) Duke (L 56-53). Tough loss in the semifinals for the Fighting Irish, but they have far exceeded expectations and will be dancing again! It's probably farfetched to think they'll get a #1 seed, but a #2 or #3 seed is within reach. North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 16-15, 8-6 Atlantic Sun. The Ospreys played in their conference tournament last week, getting eliminated, and are likely to miss the postseason. TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 15-18, 6-12 Big 12. 3/10/27- Big 12 First Round vs. (8) Kansas (W 69-60). 3/11/27- Big 12 Quarterfinal vs. (1) #2 Baylor (W 63-59). 3/12/27- Big 12 Semifinal vs. (4) Oklahoma (L 71-52). A little bit of life for the Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Tournament, but they still fell short. The question is, was it enough to save Coach Mighty's job? We'll see. They won't be playing in the postseason, that's for sure. #25 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 24-9, 12-6 Big East. 3/11/27- Big East Quarterfinal vs. (6) Butler (W 91-78). 3/12/27- Big East Semifinal vs. (7) DePaul (W 82-61). 3/13/27- Big East Championship vs. (1) #1 Providence (W 74-71). Big win for the Red Storm to win the Big East Tournament yet again. Unfortunately, they struggled a bit in the regular season so their NCAA seed probably won't be as high. Maybe a 4 or 5. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 22-9, 14-4 Big Sky. 3/11/27- Big Sky Quarterfinal vs. (9) Montana (W 70-49). 3/12/27- Big Sky Semifinal vs. (4) Eastern Washington (W 72-64). 3/13/27- Big Sky Championship vs. (3) North Dakota (W 82-77). The Hornets pull the double, winning the regular season and conference tournament. They'll be dancing, but as a low conference team, don't be surprised if they are a double digit seed. #9 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 24-8, 14-4 Big Ten. 3/12/27- Big Ten Quarterfinal vs. (7) Purdue (W 69-60). 3/13/27- Big Ten Semifinal vs. (3) #7 Indiana (L 68-60). The Wildcats fell short in the Big Ten Tournament, but will still be dancing. Coach Vee continues to have a nice run. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 18-13, 11-7 Conference USA. 3/10/27- Conference USA Second Round vs. (13) North Texas (L 65-62). A stunning end to the conference tournament for the Golden Panthers, who had a mildly disappointing season. We'll see if they get invited to a postseason tournament. NCAA is probably out. NIT may be as well. If not, they will be a pretty low seed. More than likely the CBI will call first. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 22-11, 15-5 MAAC. 3/8/27- MAAC Championship vs. (1) Manhattan (W 96-88). The Stags take care of business in the conference tournament championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament, where they will most likely be a low seed. Low meaning double digits. San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 14-17, 8-10 Mountain West. 3/10/27- Mountain West First Round vs. (9) Boise State (L 73-55). Tough end to the season for the Spartans, who once again exceeded expectations, but will miss out on the postseason. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 13-19, 7-11 Northeast. 3/9/27- Northeast Championship vs. (4) Sacred Heart (W 80-68). A shocker here, as the Bulldogs, who won just 10 games all season, get hot in the Northeast Tournament and win it all. They steal a berth into the NCAA Tournament, and I'd be shocked if they are a #16 seed, probably in the First Four. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 23-7, 15-3 Northeast. The Seahawks were eliminated from the Northeast Tournament last week. They will be playing postseason ball. They may not get an at-large to the NCAA Tournament, but the NIT should call their name. #15 Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 22-9, 13-5 Pac 12. 3/11/27- Pac 12 Quarterfinal vs. (10) Utah (L 74-71). Oof! Big letdown for the Cardinal, as they didn't exactly get the job done here. But the ultimate goal is the Sweet Sixteen, and they'll have a chance to get there as their name will be called for the NCAA Tournament. #11 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 22-7, 13-5 Pac 12. 3/11/27- Pac 12 Quarterfinal vs. (8) Washington (L 72-69). The Bruins also have a huge letdown, but they also know they are headed to the NCAA Tournament. Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-22, 3-15 Pac 12. 3/10/27- Pac 12 First Round vs. (5) Oregon (L 62-38). Unlike their human Pac 12 counterparts, the Cougars needed to win the Pac 12 Tourney to sniff a postseason berth. They are done, it was Coach St. John's worst season (or at least close to) and things will definitely need to change. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 18-13, 14-4 SEC. 3/12/27- SEC Quarterfinal vs. (7) LSU (L 68-59). The streak continues for our teams, as the Crimson Tide also lose in their first conference tournament game. They will be in the postseason, and they are hoping their 14-4 SEC record will be enough to let them dance. It's going to be some very, very tense moments leading up to the selection show. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 18-14, 13-5 SWAC. 3/10/27- SWAC Quarterfinal vs. (9) Mississippi Valley State (W 66-43). 3/12/27- SWAC Semifinal vs. (5) Prairie View A&M (W 81-78). 3/13/27- SWAC Championship vs. (6) Arkansas Pine Bluff- feature game, highlighted above. Disappointment for the Hornets as they fall in the SWAC championship game, but by virtue of winning the SWAC regular season title, they know they have an automatic berth to the NIT, so their season isn't over. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 15-18, 9-9 SWAC. 3/10/27- SWAC Quarterfinal vs. (3) Alcorn State (W 79-70). 3/12/27- SWAC Semifinal vs. (2) Alabama A&M (W 89-87). 3/13/27- SWAC Championship vs. (1) Alabama State- feature game, highlighted above. The Golden Lions become our 2nd FOFC coached team to go cinderella in their conference tournament and steal and NCAA bid. The regular season didn't go as they wanted, but they will be dancing, almost certainly in the First Four. Another accomplishment was set. With the win over Alcorn State, Coach Gunn got career win #200, then added 2 more to the total. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 19-14, 12-8 Sun Belt. 3/12/27- Sun Belt Second Round vs. (7) Arkansas Little Rock (W 89-76). 3/13/27- Sun Belt Semifinal vs. (2) Arkansas State (W 85-68). 3/14/27- Sun Belt Championship vs. (1) #17 UT Arlington (L 83-69). The Trojans battled, but their ranked opponents in the Sun Belt title game were just too much. Now they will have to sweat it out on selection Sunday. They know the NCAA is a slim to none chance, but are hoping the NIT invites them. If not, there's always the CBI. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 24-9, 13-5 WCC. 3/8/27- WCC Semifinal vs. (3) Pacific (W 68-53). 3/9/27- WCC Championship vs. (9) Portland (W 103-81). The Toreros ran through their semifinal and championship games, and will be yet another team heading to the NCAA Tournament. They overachieved this season, big time, as they were just expected to have a .500 conference record. As i am getting ready to head out of town for the weekend, I will have to leave you all in suspense, but Selection Sunday will be revealed as soon as I get back, which will be sometime on Monday. |

Sorry for getting this done later than anticipated, still playing catch-up on everything.
2027 Selection Sunday Northwestern gets the top seed in the NCAA West Region and will open up against Maryland Eastern Shore. Sacramento State will be the 13th seed in the NCAA West Region and will open up against 4th seed Long Beach State. UCLA will be the 2nd seed in the NCAA West Region and will open up against 15th seed Delaware. Notre Dame will be the 2nd seed in the NCAA Midwest Region and will open up against 15th seed Chicago State. Arkansas Pine Bluff will be playing in the First Four for the 16th seed in the NCAA Midwest Region. Their First Four opponent will be North Texas. St. John's will be the 4th seed in the NCAA South Region and will open up against 13th seed Kennesaw State. Stanford will be the 6th seed in the NCAA South Region and will open up against 11th seed Iowa State. San Diego will be the 12th seed in the NCAA East Region and will open up against 5th seed Toledo. Fairfield will be the 14th seed in the NCAA East Region and will open up against 3rd seed Duke. Bryant will be in the First Four, playing for a 16 seed in the NCAA Eat Region. Their First Four opponent will be IUPUI. FIU will be the 4th seed in the NIT West Region and will open up by hosting 5th seed LSU. Wagner will be the 5th seed in the NIT Midwest Region and will open up by travelling to 4th seed Drake. Alabama will be the 3rd seed in the NIT Midwest Region and will open up by hosting 6th seed Tennessee Tech. Alabama State will be the 10th seed in the NIT South Region and will open up by travelling to 7th seed Louisiana Tech. Troy will be the 6th seed in the CBI and will open up by hosting 11th seed Arkansas. North Florida will be the 16th seed in the CIT and will open up by travelling to top seed UC Davis. 16 of our 19 teams made the postseason, the best in any season. This definitely gives the other 3 teams something to play for next season. 10 of those teams are in the NCAA Tournament, and all 4 postseason tournaments are covered by at least 1 of our teams. I'll try to run the postseason and report on it tomorrow, if everything goes well. |

2027 Postseason
16 of our teams reached the postseason this year, a record number. Unfortunately, we had no teams around at the end. We had 1 team that made history, in the wrong way, and a Cinderella team. The fact that we had so many teams in the NCAA Tournament and no feature games, just about sums it up. Let's get to the postseason recap, as painful as it may be. Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 28-7, 15-3 ACC. 3/19/27- NCAA Midwest Region First Round vs. (15) Chicago State (W 65-57). 3/21/27- NCAA Midwest Region Second Round vs. (7) Gonzaga (W 92-70). 3/25/27- NCAA Midwest Region Semifinal vs. (3) Baylor (L 89-81). The good news is that the Fighting Irish far exceeded what they have in the past, at least under the Al Mighty tenure. The other good news is that Coach Mighty accomplished the board's request of getting the team to the Sweet Sixteen. The bad news? Sweet Sixteen was it. Still, a great season for Coach Mighty and the Irish, a season that should get him off the hot seat, at least for 1 year. North Florida (Felix Abel)-- 16-16, 8-6 Atlantic Sun. 3/16/27- CIT First Round at (1) UC Davis (L 51-42). The Ospreys finish with a whimper, but they can take pride in at least making the postseason. St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 27-10, 12-6 Big East. 3/19/27- NCAA South Region First Round vs. (13) Kennesaw State (W 61-56). 3/21/27- NCAA South Region Second Round vs. (12) Fordham (W 75-57). 3/26/27- NCAA South Region Semifinal vs. (1) Wisconsin (W 84-52). 3/28/27- NCAA South Region Championship vs. (3) Florida State (L 73-71). The Red Storm end their up and down season by hammering the #1 seed by 32 points, then losing by 2 to the #3 seed. Not the season Coach Hoo was hoping for, but still, a 25+ win season, nothing to sneeze at. Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 24-10, 14-4 Big Sky. 3/18/27- NCAA West Region First Round vs. (4) Long Beach State (W 81-71). 3/20/27- NCAA West Region Second Round vs. (5) Colorado State (W 75-64). 3/26/27- NCAA West Region Semifinal vs. (8) Cal St. Northridge (L 82-57). Well, this takes care of the Cinderella team that I talked about, but what a disappointing effort in their Sweet Sixteen game. Still, Coach Ginsberg has a lot to be proud of. Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 24-9, 14-4 Big Ten. 3/19/27- NCAA West Region First Round vs. (16) Maryland Eastern Shore (L 81-71). Sigh! Let's give Coach Vee and the Wildcats credit, they were just expected to make the NCAA Tournament, certainly not as a #1 seed. But they got there, and they didn't take care of business. The wrong side of history to be on, for sure. FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 20-14, 11-7 Conference USA. 3/17/27- NIT West Region Second Second Round vs. (5) LSU (W 63-44). 3/21/27- NIT West Region Semifinal at (1) Lehigh (W 75-67). 3/26/27- NIT West Region Championship vs. (2) UAB (L 67-63). Not a bad effort for the Golden Panthers. I'm sure they are disappointed, as they wanted more. But still, a 20 win season is alright. Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 22-12, 15-5 MAAC. 3/19/27- NCAA East Region First Round vs. (3) Duke (L 90-67). No surprises here for the Stags, as Duke takes care of business. Fairfield really started slipping the last month of the season, they could have been a lot better seed if they hadn't finished 6-6 in their last 12 games. As it stands, the goal of playing in the NCAA Tournament was met. Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 14-20, 7-11 Northeast. 3/16/27- NCAA First Four vs. IUPUI (W 82-74). 3/18/27- NCAA East Region First Round vs. (1) Providence (L 86-67). Congrats to Coach Nielsen, who got his team to the NCAA Tournament with a losing record, and won a game. The Bulldogs played Providence fairly tough until they ran out of gas. Wagner (Will Brown) -- 23-8, 15-3 Northeast. 3/18/27- NIT Midwest Region Second Round at (4) Drake (L 66-53). The Seahawks also have a disappointing end, as they expected to be in the NCAA Tournament, then lost in their first NIT game. Amazing how that seems to happen. Still a great season though, as they were only expected to compete for the Northeast title, certainly not win it by such a comfortable margin. Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 22-10, 13-5 Pac 12. 3/19/27- NCAA South Region First Round vs. (11) Iowa State (L 72-49). It's almost as if the Cardinal forgot to show up against Iowa State. Definitely not the way they wanted to finish their season. UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 23-8, 13-5 Pac 12. 3/19/27- NCAA West Region First Round vs. (15) Delaware (W 96-93). 3/21/27- NCAA West Region Second Round vs. (7) Pepperdine (L 64-61). 2 tough games in the NCAA Tournament for the Bruins. Both 3 point results, they won 1, lost 1. Another team that was expecting a deeper run in the tournament. The board certainly was: they were thinking Final Four. No matter though, Coach Shepard need not worry, he is currently 3rd in the nation for coaches in career wins (at least in this dynasty). Don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon. Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 18-14, 14-4 SEC. 3/17/27- NIT Midwest Region Second Round vs. (6) Tennessee Tech (L 77-67). Ugh! Another early exit for one of our teams expected to make a deeper run in their postseason tournament. This time it was the Crimson Tide. No surprise, they struggled with non-conference teams all season. Coach Rogers might be in a bit of trouble, as the Tide were expected to be in the Sweet Sixteen this season, and not the NIT Sweet Sixteen. Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 18-15, 13-5 SWAC. 3/16/27- NIT South Region First Round at (7) Louisiana Tech (L 77-69). A gallant effort for the Hornets in their NIT loss, they actually led at halftime, but couldn't sustain it. The board wanted them in the NCAA Tournament, but winning the SWAC regular season title should suffice. Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 15-19, 9-9 SWAC. 3/16/27- NCAA First Four vs. North Texas (L 93-86). Credit to the Golden Lions for getting into the NCAA Tournament, but unfortunately they fell short in their First Four game. Coach Gunn still hasn't given UAPB the kind of production they expected, and he has to be a bit concerned that if he doesn't pick it up, his 2nd stop will end up much like his 1st. Troy (Benton Gale) -- 19-15, 12-8 Sun Belt. 3/17/27- CBI First Round vs. (11) Arkansas (L 70-51). Tough draw for the Trojans, especially as a higher seed. You almost feel like the seeds should have been reversed. As it stands, Troy saw a postseason berth for the 2nd straight season, even if the goal was the NCAA Tournament. San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 24-10, 13-5 WCC. 3/19/27- NCAA East Region First Round vs. (5) Toledo (L 83-77). The Toreros overachieved this season, but couldn't get an NCAA Tournament win. Still, a great season that should see Coach Shocker in the mix for some Coach of the Year awards. |

2027 Postseason Recap
The NCAA Final Four consisted of a Cinderella team. No, not the one that beat Northwestern, a different one. In the first semifinal (14W) VMI beat (3S) Florida State 79-72. The other semifinal, which probably should have been the National Championship game, saw (1E) Providence beat (3MW) Baylor 80-74. The NCAA National Championship game saw Providence squeak by a very, very game VMI team, 61-58. The NIT Final Four saw (2S) Ohio beat (2W) UAB 71-61 in the first semifinal. The second semifinal saw (7E) Louisiana Tech hammer (4MW) Drake 74-56. The NIT Title game saw Louisiana Tech get by Ohio 67-62. In the CBI Championship Series, (13) DePaul beat (3) Boston College 2 games to 0. In the first game, DePaul beat Boston College 83-74. In the second game, DePaul won 69-54. The CIT Championship game saw (7) Niagara beat (1) UC Davis 80-71. |

2026-2027 Recruiting Class Rankings
Notre Dame once again didn't sign a recruit. I have a feeling this was due to an overpopulated roster, too many redshirts or something. Whatever the case, if they don't sign a recruit this season, I'll take a look. They were 348th in the nation, last in the ACC of course. North Florida had the 96th best class in the nation, tops in the Atlantic Sun. TCU had the 125th best class in the nation, good for just 8th in the Big 12. St. John's had the top recruiting class in the nation, and of course tops in the Big East. Georgetown and Providence were also in the top 10 though. Sacramento State had the 80th best class in the nation, good for tops in the Big Sky by a fairly wide margin. Northwestern had the 45th best class in the nation, good for 6th in the Big Ten. FIU had the 134th best class in the nation, good for 6th in Conference USA. Fairfield had the 59th best class in the nation, tops in the MAAC, also by a wide margin. San Jose State had the 32nd best class in the nation, good for 2nd in the Mountain West. Bryant had the 215th best class in the nation, good for 2nd in the Northeast. Wagner had the 330th best class in the nation, good for 9th in the Northeast. Only 1 Northeast team had a worse recruiting class. Stanford had the 52nd best class in the nation, good for just 6th in the Pac 12. Washington State had the 328th best class in the nation, technically good for 11th in the Pac 12, but the 12th place team, which just happened to be UCLA, also didn't sign a recruit this season. Alabama had the 25th best class in the nation, good for 6th in the SEC. Alabama State had the 270th best class in the nation, good for 7th in the SWAC. Arkansas Pine Bluff had the 269th best class in the nation, good for 6th in the SWAC. Troy had the 86th best class in the nation, good for tops in the Sun Belt by a decent margin. San Diego had the 16th best class in the nation, tops in the WCC. They were 1 of only 2 WCC schools to sign a 4 star recruit. |

No conference movement again this season, and since it's been a while, here's how job movement works:
Any coach, on the hotseat or not, can ask me to resign from their position, and then I will go through the head coach movement period and see what jobs that coach would receive. They can either pick a new job or stay where they are at. I save before the head coach movement period, and I do NOT save afterwards, that way any coaches that receive job offers will have a complete list, and we can do this all at once. So if any coach wants to resign their position and test the job market, let me know ASAP. As for those coaches that didn't choose to resign but got job offers, there were 10 of them. Most of the offers were.. well.. unappealing, but there were a few that could turn some heads. I'm just going to go through each coach and tell what offers he got. If your coach wants info on any of the schools let me know. I'll give it a few days and let everyone get back with me before I move on. Starting with: Benton Gale:- Belmont, Canisius, Georgia Southern, Cal St. Northridge, Morehead St. North Dakota State, Quinnipiac, Tennessee State, Towson, Arizona State, Arkansas State, Drake, Evansville, Maryland, Ole Miss, Murray State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, UT Arlington, Austin Peay, Cornell, LaSalle, Mississippi State, Marist, Minnesota, Nevada, Toledo, Wichita State. breeze let me know if you want any info about those schools. David Ginsberg:- Montana, Portland State, Cal St. Northridge, Nevada, Austin Peay, Wichita State. DavidCorperial, let me know. Brett Hawkins:- George Mason, Harvard, Hofstra, Richmond, UC Davis, Arizona State, Cal St. Northridge, Evansville, Louisiana Tech, Maryland, Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Pepperdine, Pittsburgh, Drake, LaSalle, Ohio State, Wright State, Cornell, Mississippi State, Nevada, Minnesota, Toledo, Wichita State. breeze, what do you think? Dean Hoo:- Arizona State, Arkansas, Georgetown, Maryland, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee, Washington, Ohio State, Minnesota. law90026, I highly doubt you want Dean to move from St. John's, but if you happen to be ready for a new challenge, let me know. Ariel Pryde:- Belmont, Canisius, George Mason, Georgia Southern, Harvard, Hofstra, UC Davis, Cal St. Northridge, Evansville, Louisiana Tech, Maryland, Middle Tennessee, Morehead State, North Carolina, North Dakota State, Pittsburgh, Quinnipiac, Arizona State, Arkansas State, Drake, LaSalle, Ole Miss, Murray State, Ohio State, Wright State, Austin Peay, Cornell, Mississippi State, Nevada, Marist, Minnesota, Toledo, Wichita State. DavidCorperial, what would you like to do about Ariel? Roy Rogers: - Maryland, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee, West Virginia, Arizona State, Ohio State, Minnesota. ntndeacon, what do you think? Tim Shepard: - Arizona State, Arkansas, Georgetown, Maryland, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee, Washington, Ohio State, Minnesota. rjolley, what are your thoughts? Ess Vee: - Arizona State, Arkansas, Georgetown, Maryland, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee, Washington, Ohio State, Minnesota. Neuqua, what say you? Benito Sanchez: - Ole Miss, Ohio State, Minnesota. rjolley, how about Benito? Al Mighty: - Maryland, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, West Virginia, Minnesota. thealmighty, what are your thoughts? Also, if anybody wants to become lifers at their school (aside from getting fired of course) and doesn't wish to hear about their job offers unless they are unemployed, let me know that too. I think some of you have expressed that wish, and that could save me some time in the offseason. Thanks. |
