3rd - Stephanie - You Don't Have to say you Love Me - Dusty Springfield (typical complex tone-deaf Stephanie choice)
4th - Blake - Time Of the Season - The Zombies (classic, rangy, I bet he beat-boxes quite a bit here)

Paula was asked directly for her advice and her advice was work on your vocals. Yeah, no shit. WHAT SPECIFICALLY? See the difference between that and the lady that is coaching them (I didn't catch who she was). She actually knows what the hell she's doing and gives better advice than "work on your vocals." It's just as stupid as if you ask a basketball coach what you can do to get better and he says "work on your basketball playing." He's not in it to help you become a better basketball player either, but he got asked a direct question and by giving that answer showed he's either completely clueless about the game or doesn't give a shit enough to give an actual answer.

I think the concern is that if they get really technical they might bore the people at home. They might even get voters who misinterpret what they say.

By the way, this is another Melinda as Secretariat and the rest of the pack way, way back. I thought Lakisha was right there with her last week and tonight she just went out and blew her and everybody else right back off the stage.

I forget who came in second to Secretariat at the Belmont, but for tonight's idol second was Blake with Jordin nipping at his heels. Haley deserves mention for improvement and I hope she avoids bottom 3.

The bottom three for me were: Phil/Sanjaya/Gina. It's gonna hurt me but I think Gina might go home.

It shows that they have no idea what to tell them to work on. Paula was asked directly for her advice and her advice was work on your vocals. Yeah, no shit. WHAT SPECIFICALLY? See the difference between that and the lady that is coaching them (I didn't catch who she was). She actually knows what the hell she's doing and gives better advice than "work on your vocals." It's just as stupid as if you ask a basketball coach what you can do to get better and he says "work on your basketball playing."
