Hole 4 Mike Schaplowsky - poor short iron approach misses the green and leads to bogey (+2) Rob Nielsen - putt speed was misjudged on a slippery down hill putt leading to a 3 putt bogey. Rob would have been better off being much more conservative on that putt (+1) Saku Koekela - textbook par (-3) Will Brown - solid par (-1) Brian Babson - player finds trouble off the tee but manages to par the hole (+1) Ches O'Peake -textbook par (-2) Frank Justyce - can't scramble out of the bunker for par (E) Jimmy Fujita - poor short iron approach misses the green and leads to bogey and the nightmare 3rd round continues for Jimmy as he's bogeyed 3 of the first 4 holes. Hole 9 Mike Schaplowsky - solid par (+1) - even par on the front 9. Rob Nielsen - after his nice bogey on 8, he misses the landing area off the tee on 9 and bogeys the hole (+1) - Rob's tough closing holes in round 2 have carried over to the front 9 here as he's 2 over on the day so far Saku Koekela - consistent play = birdie (-4) - 1 under with 9 to play Will Brown - consistent play = birdie (-2) - 35 shots on the opening side Brian Babson - bad course strategy gets Babson as he bogeys (+2) - 1 birdie, 2 bogeys - 1 over Ches O'Peake - solid par (-2) - birdie at 1 gave it back at 2 and he's been on par the rest of the way. Frank Justyce - second shot misses the landing area and player has to grind out the hole but ends up with bogey (+1) - 2 over par on the front 9 Jimmy Fujita - poor strategy costs Fujita as he drops yet another stroke (E) - a disastrous front 9 score of 41 that saw the former co-leader go from 5 under to even par! Tough course today. Just can't seem to get any traction and dropping a shot isn't helping. Lucky for me, it looks like if Chucky can get some putting mojo back he might be able to get back to even, or hopefully drop a stroke while everyone goes the other way.

Hole 18 Mike Schaplowsky - textbook par (+2) - 1 over on the round and for the tournament with 1 round to play Rob Nielsen - middle of the green with the approach and 2 putts for par (-1) - after going 2 over on the front he managed to go 2 under on the back to finish the round even par. Saku Koekela - middle of the green with the approach and 2 putts for par (-5) - 1 under on the front and back and he goes 2 under for the day and will tee off tomorrow with a share of the lead Will Brown - textbook par (-2) finished the round 1 under par Brian Babson - smart play to the middle of the green and 2 putts for par (+3) - 37 on the front and the back so he's 2 over for the round. Ches O'Peake - nice course management for par (-2) - even par round with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys one on each side... Frank Justyce - aggressive and confident play leads to birdie (+1) - pars the back 9 but the 2 dropped shots on the front drop his score to 1 over for the tournament. Jimmy Fujita - standard 2 putt par (-2) - after the disastrous 5 over front side Jimmy managed to go 2 under on the back to somewhat salvage the round. Update 12 Hole 18 Benton Frazier - solid par (-2) - 2 under on the back the round and the tournament Tommy Phan - 5 iron approach is long and player just misses going into the water - can't save par though (EVEN) - 2 over on the back puts the round 1 over for the day Hole 17 Rob Nielsen - player is barely on the front with a long putt - that comes up well short and player bogeys hole (+2) Wade Whitaker - textbook par (-1) Hole 16 Will Brown - 3rd shot pitch runs up inside of 18 inches for an easy birdie conversion (-3) Amos Decker - aggressive play makes for easy birdie (-3) Hole 15 Ches O Peake - fairway sand shot fails to reach the green and player bogeys hole - a couple of costly holes (EVEN) Jimmy Fujita - solid par (-2) Hole 14 Chuck Finley - course management shows here as player takes his par and moves on (-3) Ray Kowalski - 2 putt par (-5) Hole 13 Jesse Porter - solid par (-9) Issac Bell - solid par (-8) Hole 12 Art Mullen - inconsistent swing results in bogey (-6) bad time to bogey Saku Koekela - made the 9 foot birdie (-9) - this pulls him into a tie for the lead |

Update 13 Hole 18 Rob Nielsen - solid par (+2) - not a single birdie on the day but 3 bogeys Wade Whitaker - 5 iron approach is long and player is in the water, but a great chip and 1 putt means he only drops 1 shot (EVEN) - Shoots even on the back and is 1 over for the round Hole 17 Will Brown - focus saves par (-3) Amos Decker - playe is on the green but a long way from the hole. A misread on the line left him 7 feet for par, which was missed (-2) Hole 16 Ches O Peake - solid par (EVEN) Jimmy Fujita - solid par (-2) Hole 15 Chuck Finley - drive is right down the chute and in a perfect position in the fairway - approach is good and putt is made for birdie (-4) Ray Kowalski - solid par (-5) Hole 14 Jesse Porter - solid par (-9) - and after Saku's back to back birdies to open the back 9 Porter all of sudden finds himself tied for the lead… Issac Bell - textbook par (-8) Hole 13 Art Mullen - tough pin on this tough hole once again bites a player as Mullen has now gone back to back bogeys and he's fallen way off the pace (-5) Saku Koekela - clutch play birdies the difficult 13th hole (-10) - three straight birdies ripped of by Saku as he takes the lead!!! |

Update 14 Hole 18 Will Brown - aggressive drive flirts with the water, but the rough stops it just short. Player is able to par the hole (-3) - finished up the round 1 under par. Amos Decker - drive is wet - double bogey (EVEN) - and just like that a round goes from ok to poor as Decker finishes 2 over par for the day after shooting 3 over on the back Hole 17 Ches O Peake - solid par (EVEN) Jimmy Fujita - brilliant 9 iron leads to birdie (-3) Hole 16 Chuck Finley - after a short drive player lays up on green in regulation and 2 putts for par (-4) Ray Kowalski - wise course management pays off as player walks off with a birdie and now we find Kowalski looking like he's going to break 70...
