I just love how a pommel horse just happens to be sitting there and how everyone waits as he does his gymnastics before taking a hit. Oh man, this movie has been joked about for decades and yet I had still forgotten how bad the trailer looked.

The best moves from DCI (Drum Corps International). At least this guy's opinion. The best ones are definitely in this video (the Star of Indiana clip at 0:26 is my favorite clip of all time, and the Cavaliers Spin Cycle stuff, 2003, is my favorite entire show. This video also has the most memorable series from the Frameworks show I posted a few pages earlier).
This video gives me chills every time I watch it (particularly the Star of Indiana clip). Probably the most difficult drill in this video is the Cavaliers clip at 2:08 from the 2000 show Niagra Falls. Jaw dropping. |

I guess I could pimp one of my own videos, too. This is just a video of my latest audio project (an orchestral arrangement of a theme from Secret of Mana for SNES), which is still a work in progress. I don't know, some might be interested.

In small ironies, the A&M guy is one of my best friends. When he told me he was going to do it, I said, you don't have the marbles.

No way! That's awesome...
Although I am somewhat disturbed that a UT fan like yourself is best friends with an A&M guy. Unless the A&M thing was all an act...

No, he is an Ag, but we don't take it real serious, and we admit things that are wrong with our programs. He lives in Fort Worth, BTW.
He = Fran Me = unhealthy dislike of Chris Simms.

Good stuff. A little heavy on the Cavies, but to each his own. I personally find most of their shows rather bleh. Beautiful to watch, but to listen to? No thanks. I love the Star '91 show. Probably my second favorite show of all time (topped only by Star '93). DCI is definitely worse off without them on the field. |

Depends on the year. Some Cav shows are bleh musically, like The Machine last year and Billy Joel (!!) this year, but Spin Cycle, Frameworks, and Niagra Falls are musically fantastic.
I don't think you can deny that the Cavaliers are the most innovative visually, though, and this video was about that, so I can't disagree with being heavy on the boys in green. There is a lot of sloppiness in that 91 SoI show which takes away from it quite a bit. Plus the arrangement of Roman Festivals is a bit thin in some important spots. I think if I could fix those two things about that show it would probably be my favorite, because the emotional impact of that whole show is probably still unmatched. I have to give the nod to Spin Cycle in 03 as my favorite, though (even though it suffers from some sloppiness as well) just because it was so innovative and musically great. I admit that Frameworks is probably a notch better musically, but not quite as innovative to me (much cleaner though). Bah I could talk forever about this stuff. The Cadets have pissed me off with all their voice amplification stuff in recent years. Last edited by MJ4H : 09-23-2007 at 09:23 PM. |
