Out of all the things that got fucked up royally in the Star Wars prequels, one that is really under-mentioned is Darth Maul. Imagine how much more interesting these movies would have been had he not been killed off in the first movie, his character developed, and he was the main sort of bad guy later on in the trilogy instead of two of the worst bad guys I've ever seen in a movie: Count Dooku and General Greivous. Especially Count Dooku. He looks like he should be in Aesop's Fables.

It really pisses me off just thinking about how awfully this was fucked up, but much more so when you realize how the potential was there to make so much more of it.

Also someone should make at least an animated movie out of the Timothy Zahn trilogy.

Personally I would've liked to see more character development out of Dooku and Grievous.

Most of the problem for me is that Dooku was just completely unbelievable as Mr. Badass Evil Guy.

I really wanted Dooku to actually be the leader of a rebel band of Jedi who realized the emperor was evil. That way you have a our misguided band of heroes tragically defeating perhaps the only true hope left for peace in the universe. Instead he ends up being a lame flunkie and a muppet ends up being the best actor in Attack of the Clones.

That's along the same lines of what I've been thinking for years. Have Maul escape while Obi-Wan was hanging there and then in Episode 2 or 3 have Anakin kill him to show how much of a bad ass he is.

Speaking of Darth Maul...

So I guess the Star Wars concert in Green Bay was tonight.

It was a little disconcerting to have the waiter set my food down in front of me, disappear, and have Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and three or four dudes in Jedi robes with those $150 lightsaber replicas come strolling in.

Vader and Obi-Wan setting aside their differences long enough to share a pizza, then right back to master/apprentice deathmatches, I guess.

Supposedly, this is a normal, heterosexual male on my facebook friends list (I went to high school with him).

I mean, I am really speechless at this. I expect it from teenage girls. But mid-30s males? I mean, I rarely say things like this, but in this case I just have to.

And he was excited to find out who won the next 25 World Series. If I knew the Yankees were going to win that many times, I think I'd rather get shot by the Libyans.

Doc Brown of Timeline 1 had always dreamed of seeing the future, looking beyond his years, seeing the progress of mankind, and seeing who would win the next twenty-five World Series. On October 26, 1985, he was preparing to set the time circuits to 2010, but the Libyans found him before he could input the new destination time. Doc Brown of Timeline 2 preferred going 30 years ahead, and traveled to 2015 after dropping Marty off at Lyon Estates.

Haha! Some are easier than others to figure out. Yours was pretty easy. But, since I don't know a lot of actual names here, I have had to do some research to figure out who was who.

I was stumped this morning by a new friend request. I could find no reference to this person on FOFC, but, they were friends with someone here. I assumed that it was someone from FOFC and come to find out, they are not.

So you added me because you were drunk? It's like the Facebook equivalent of drunk dialing.

Edit: Not saying that you are a guy, but, I am not aware of a Drunk Lady thread...

Not surprisingly, my kids rather enjoy the campaign. They may not understand it, but the slapstick entertains them.

My girlfriend, a neonatal nurse, was exposed to blood yesterday morning during a delivery. Blood was drawn from the mother and my girlfriend and the full battery of tests have been/are being done.

We still haven't heard from the hospital. While I'm optimistic nothing will come of it, the more time passes the more nervous I find myself becoming.

Wouldn't there have been blood work done on the mother who had the baby that would have indicated any infectious blood diseases, sometime during the 9 months of her pregnancy? Or is it because there is something that is in the mothers' blood system that is cause for concern?

The full battery wasn't done on the mother because she wasn't "high risk". I originally took that as a good sign. I assumed "not high risk" meant drug use or any other type of craziness. Instead, "not high risk" apparently meant the woman was likely to carry the baby through the entire term.

I'm a little surprised there wasn't a full blood test done beforehand. I'm a little surprised everyone in the flipping room wasn't wearing glasses. I asked why she wasn't. She told me something along the lines of those not in direct contact with the patient didn't have to...and that most everyone didn't wear glasses.

I would have assumed the same thing you did if I heard the term high risk. Maybe 'potential' would be a more accurate term to use than risk or 'likely'. Low potential to lose the baby or highly likely to lose the baby. I hear risk and I think something is wrong with the person, not the pregnancy.

Sounds like it's time to change the rules in my opinion. I'm sure everything will be alright though and this is just nothing more than a slight hassle.
