GT with their first two game win streak since 2018.

Coastal Carolina and Louisiana-Monroe basically played without defense in the first half, marching down the field several times before Monroe finally coughed up a fumble. Coastal capitializes and now leads 28-14 at the half.

ULM drove in for another TD to start the 3rd, and was at the goal line for another when Coastal stopped them on 4th down. No more scores for either team and Coastal becomes bowl eligible with a 28-21 win!

Yep. That's where I am with it also. I think those are probably the best three teams, although I'm not sure, and I don't know in what order, and it doesn't really matter at this point until they play more games.

I've been watching college football for decades, and I've never seen anything like the situation with Oklahoma over the past four weeks. After they blew out Nebraska to go 3-0, there were numerous talking heads (e.g. Joel Klatt) who said OU was a legitimate playoff contender. They were ranked in the top six in every poll. Fast forward to three weeks later, and OU is now the worst team in the Big 12. With that being said, how horrible must Nebraska be? |

So bad that after they beat Rutgers, Rutgers fired their OC.

I'm mostly expecting Oklahoma to beat us this week. You can't just go from 11-2 and preseason playoff contender to like 4-8 basement dweller over one offseason, I think. Like I understood the loss to K-State as they've beaten them a number of times and are one of the better teams in the Big XII. And I thought TCU was where they were suffering a hangover from losing the week before and let the loss beat them twice. But then to come out and show nothing against Texas in a rivalry game. I don't get that at all. I still think there's a chance we look up and they end the season 8-4 with one more loss, either against Baylor or at Bedlam and people will look back and go "oh, sure, it was a down year but he lost his QB and lost to 3 of the 4 best teams in the league (TCU/KState/Baylor/OSU) - it makes sense in retrospect". But I can't wrap my head around the idea that Oklahoma is only going to win 4 or 5 games this year like a lot of people seem to be thinking right now.

Given OU's quarterback transferred from Pitt because he was likely 3rd on the depth chart and Pitt doesn't have great QBs is not good. Gabriel should get them back to mid pack in the Big 12.

Yeah, Davis Beville is slightly more proficient than a mannequin would be in running Jeff Lebby's offense, but OU's problems go way beyond Dillon Gabriel playing or not. The defense has given up 145 points and 1762 total yards in the last three games. |

So Georgia Tech's football hire will be turned over to someone with zero experience as an AD at any level and no football hiring experience.
But hey, he's a "revenue officer" and that's all that Tech has cared about for years. Over 50 years as a fan -- and there's no such thing as a Tech fan that isn't "long suffering" -- but I think this might just about be the end for me. They aren't trying, they aren't interested in trying, and there's no reason at this point for me to think they'll ever try in what's left of my lifetime. Just drop football, drop to I-AA where they belong, and be done with it. Stop the charade.

Coastal Carolina plays Old Dominion tomorrow at noon-the first time they have met in the Sun Belt, but they did play one time before when they were both FCS studs, and that was in a playoff game where ODU scored over 60 and beat Coastal by 30+ I hope there is a not a repeat of that massacre,

This may be my favorite weekend this season. Iowa is on the bye week. Preparing to get slaughtered by tOSU.

Oklahoma and Kansas left their defenses at home. I don't think we can keep up, though, especially with our turnover problems

Tenth-ranked Penn State came into Ann Arbor fifth in the country (yardage allowed), allowing 80 yards rushing per game. Michigan ran for 418 yards.
A couple of crazy plays (tipped pass bouncing off of a helmet straight to a defender for a pick-6) kept it close in the first half. But Michigan ran 50 offensive plays in the first half and just wore them out in a 41-17 win. Their first ranked opponent. Now the bye, then Michigan State, which seems to have Harbaugh's voodoo doll in storage somewhere. (edited for clarification) Last edited by Solecismic : 10-15-2022 at 03:22 PM. |

Good win, but I feel like PSU really isn't that good. I mean they're fine, but I feel like #5 was too high for them. They should have lost to Purdue.

3rd and 11, just under a min left in the half. Hog QB broke 3 tackles/touches behind the center, and completed a 1st down. That was a great play.
24-21. Hoping we can pad the lead with 45 sec left. EDIT: 31-21 Last edited by Edward64 : 10-15-2022 at 04:18 PM. |

Hogs are definitely getting their offense swagger back. Best game since our A&M fiasco 3 games ago.
Our defense still sucks big time. Someone please take Odom. Nice to be enjoying a game that we stand a fair chance in winning. 38-28. EDIT: 45-35 with 1:13 left in 3Q. It's an offensive slugfest. Last edited by Edward64 : 10-15-2022 at 05:25 PM. |

I wouldn't put too much stock in the Purdue game, nobody is the same team in the opener as they are mid-season. Having said that, Michigan now should be unbeaten going into Ohio State. Until then, three out of four at home and the road game is Rutgers. Michigan State can always be strange as a rivalry game but this year the gap is obviously quite large between them. Illinois looks decent and consistent, but that's a home game.
I expect to lose to Ohio State, possibly badly. Really this win against Penn State and the game last year against OSU has the only blueprint for winning; dominate with the offensive line, wear out the defense. It could happen again, but I think Ohio State is just better. Amusing quote by Hale: "The Nittany Lions held the ball for just 18:04, and roughly 17:50 of that time was spent in third-and-long." I remember people complaining on camera/video reviews way back when. I was always a fan and supported it. For the most part, it's been implemented well. It's a good thing for College (and Pro football).
There are still mistakes and non-calls (the Hogs benefited from 2 of them). But yeah, it shuts down 95% of all that other crap. |

He is good and THE reason when Hogs win. However, he had "that" fumble against A&M 3 weeks ago and our 3 straight losses can be traced back to that play. Our offensive confidence, our swagger broke. This is because our defense literally don't win games for us, its our offense. (Well okay, TBH I can remember 1 time after a game when I said, yup our defense won that one) Quote:
