Another comeback from 1-0 down to go up 2-1. Amazing tournament so far.

Nearly 3-1. Great save by the Algerian keeper.

I think it says something about how good the US team could possibly be that the entire nation is complaining about how poorly they played in a game they led for 95 of 100 minutes played.

So, if the US finishes runner up in their group (I think that's our hope), it is likely that we would play Belgium as winner of Group H in the first elimination game. That's kind of a scary thought...

It could have been worse, Spain and Brazil are destined to meet in the second round.

Belgium destroyed us not all that long ago, so it is quite a scary thought.

I agree though, Belgium is one of the teams you'd really want to avoid.

Just heard the USA/Ghana ratings beat the Game 5 Heat/Spurs ratings. Everyone is all in on this game

Cool!

Is that the combined rating (ESPN and Univision) though?

Must be. Looks like the NBA did 18 million total viewers Sunday night.

The article linked below specifically talks about ESPN's coverage & cites 11,093,000 as the audience.

USA-Ghana: ESPN’s Highest-Rated Men’s Soccer Match Ever and WatchESPN’s Largest Audience - Ratings | TVbytheNumbers.Zap2it.com

edit to add: Good question though, well worth looking up.

It usually is combined numbers. Though, personally, I don't think it necessarily diminishes the accomplishment.

Really impressed at the number of Mexican fans in attendance. I just assumed it would be all yellow given the location.

I think the referee left his yellow card in his other suit.

I don't think Mexico has had more than 3 players touch a ball on a possession.

Man, Mexico's goalie has made some ridiculous saves this first half. Single handedly saved the team's bacon.

Kobe Bryant is in the stands! No, not Landon Donovan, the actual Kobe Bryant.

Yep, I'd read earlier in the day that he was planning to attend three matches (as it so happens, none of them being USA matches)

If Mexico can maintain the 0-0 score, Ochoa should win Man of the Match.

Mexico have been really stubborn in defense - although personally I also think Brazil are lucky to have 11 on the pitch at the moment after that sliding tackle from behind on the edge of their own area earlier .... yellow card my arse, he was clear through ...

Tell you what, Brazil - Mexico woulda been one of the last matches I would have expected to go scoreless.

On that last header save, it looked like Brazil had another guy free behind Silva, and that guy was angled to bury it inside the near post.
