Racer is not on anybody's side but his own conference's.

I was under the impression that a win was keeping yalls out of the at large, not necessarily winning it myself!

His point is that it doesn't matter if he wins it or racer wins it: either way you lose.

Nope. A win is winning the NC yourself, or putting a non-detractor, non-Catholic from your own conference in the at-large (which is you and you alone, as ntndeacon won the conference, I'm Catholic, and st.cronin is detractor).

Hmmm... why is cronin voting racer 4th? Seems kinda odd.

Probably to raise a little doubt about my allegiance. I think it's been made pretty clear though that I am a loyalist to my conference.

The thing is, though, the only people who need to doubt your allegiance are your own conference. You're not on anybody else's side anyway. For the detractors to salvage this, they need you out of the way, so they shouldn't be putting any votes on you at all.

As I have said previously, I have submitted an action to throw the national championship game if I am facing Chesapeake or Ntndeacon (since like I said earlier, Claph and jeheiz can't make it if I make it). I would say it is definitely in both of those players' best interest to see that I don't get sanctioned.

As for everyone else, the Catholics and the Detractors have more votes then any single group of conference loyalists in the public and private polls and thus the only chance the loyalists have in beating Mr. Wednesday is to ban together in this vote.

Villagers who have not voted for full slates need to think about voting for folks that they believe are cleared, otherwise the bad guys, who KNOW who their fellow bad guys are -- BK, Molson, St. C and Sndvls -- will get a disproportionately large vote.

Email or PM is fine, too. I just said the thing about email since I was worried about my PM box being full. It should be okay, though.

I don't know, it's still up in the air. Racer had a bit of an edge in the computer rankings going into the end, and I'm not sure how the polls are going to work out.

I don't know if it's officially part of the rules, but for my money, anyone who got won their conference can count it as a minor victory, as long as their conference doesn't have the at-large bid go to a detractor or Catholic.

FINAL BCS RANKINGS

1. Racer

4. chesapeake

The at-large spot goes to Racer from the Big 3 Conference. As the schools from the Big 3 celebrate, it is discovered that there were some teams attempting to bring down the conference. Barkeep49 was a detractor! As if that wasn't enough, news of another evil team lurking in the conference arrives. Chief Rum was a Catholic! After putting those teams under severe probation, the rest of the Big 3 teams resume their celebration. Racer and Swaggs win!

Before we get to the National Championship game, we've got to put up with the minor BCS Bowls. SnDvls takes on Alan T, in the Bad Guy Bowl, which is narrowly won by Alan T. The Good Guy Bowl is played between ntndeacon and chesapeake, another close match, won by chesapeake.

And now...the Big Event, the BCS National Championship Game. The THIRD meeting between Barkeep49 and Racer. Racer won the regular season matchup, but Barkeep49 managed to get vengenace in the Big 3 Conference Championship Game. Who will win the rubber match? It's Racer, in a blowout! Congratulations to Racer, the National Champion!

On second thought, maybe not. After looking at the spreadsheet, Lathum was way too far out of it on the computer ranking.

After. Alan gave me three names as people he wanted on the Catholic team at the end of Day 3 -- Chief Rum, Lathum, and Mr. Wednesday. They had until the end of Day 4 to decide if they wanted to accept or decline the invitation. All three accepted.

That was probably my fault -- people realized pretty quickly that they didn't really mean anything, so why bother? I can't say I blame them.

The Catholic flip happened right at the time that Pass announced it in-thread.

I very well might have won if I hadn't flipped, but I figured it would be more fun to flip, and I think it was more fun.
