We've secretly replaced the NFL officating crews with out of work Pac-10 officials.

Let's see if anyone notices.

Holy hell, that was rigged HS game caliber bad.

It is going to be interesting when we get down to draft annalist time what people are going to make of Beck. I have been super critical, and on first blush he seem to have regressed. But when I hear guys that actually break down film, they paint a different picture. The number of drops and missed passes that should have been caught he has dealt with this year is huge. His main receivers are killing him with miss ran routes. Over half his interceptions comes from just that, throwing to where the receiver is supposed to be.

I'm not saying he will ended up a top 5 pick, but I think he might still might be the third QB off the board.

Watching awards future markets, it was only this week that Mahomes fell from the shortest odds for MVP. Lamar now first (+250 on MGM) then Mahomes (+400).

Okay, sharps know that this has basically become "best QB leading dominant team" in nearly every case, and angles like that are important in beating markets like these. So, Chiefs are unbeaten and might three-peat so there's your case for Mahomes.

But is DOES feel like the stat-heads would just go berserk if Mahomes were the favorite while throwing, say, 27 TD passes on a 12th-best offense, independent of the "weapons" he has to work with. If the Chiefs win big with defense and solid safe offensive play, I feel like they can't get away with awarding Mahomes the honor.

Interesting market, I increasingly find stuff like this more worthwhile to mull on than the pure numbers stuff where you really need to I-K-B ahead of a generally well-informed public and sharps-led field.

What's the over/under on number of game minutes before Tua gets another concussion?

If he is playing this week, its against my Cards, so they may never tackle him. Sadly can't see him lasting the season without getting another.

The Browns generally don't work this way, but this should be Taylor's last season in Cincy. They aren't going to get better without a new plan.

He was inaccurate and somewhat turnover prone so I'm not sure he isn't exactly what he appeared to be.

After as bad as the defense looked early in this game, the Falcons definitely looks like the class of the NFC South right now. Without finding some kind of answer to get to the quarterback, they will be a first round exit playoff team.

It's pretty hard to be this bad with an elite QB, but always trust the Bengals.

Falcons icing this game just like everyone predicted, by Cousins running the ball.

Counting the pre-season, the Bengals are 0-6 at home this year.

Yeah it looked like it was going to be a blowout after they scored in their first possession, but Murray had his best game this season, and his offensive weapons all had good games.

He put up 400 yards on them and they lost the turnover battle. In other words, he did what he has always done - he's an old-school quarterback in a modern NFL and that might be exactly what the Browns need right now.

It'll be an interesting week here. People are going to find a lot of hope in that performance.

Random NFL early game thoughts .

Go Jameis, Go Browns!

I don't care about either but I want to see the Browns officials explain that Deshaun Watson gives th1at team the best chance to win when he gets healthy.

I'm happy Tua was able to walk the field without a concussion.

Pats fans: Not trying to be a A-hole and knowing that the hit happened on a scramble, you still okay with Drake Maye taking his lumps behind that offensive line?

Fun Fact for non Jets fans: After beating the Giants 13-10 in OT, the 2023 Jets were 4-3 with Zach Wilson as their starting QB.

One of my friends just hit me with a stunning stat. The New York Jets have the fifth most AFC East Titles. That's a hard thing because there's only been four teams in the AFC East since 2002. (The Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts had 6 before they left the division) to the Jets four/

At least for a half, Nix turned into a pass-happy QB who gained 5 yards running as opposed to a run-first QB who gains more on the ground than through the air.

Troy Franklin sucks though.

Yeah, this is what you want to hear from your QB that you drafted 4th overall.

The Colts are entering a dark age not seen since the 90s

My wife was like, I think he got a head injury! I said, no, that usually means you're tired and want out but I don't think I've ever seen a QB tap out.

Game on the line and you are finally driving the ball offensively and you take the ball out of the hands of the #1 overall pick to give it to the backup center from 3 yards out.

That is quite something.
