Kaepernick has one more career pass completion than he does kneel downs.

Does this mean you hold gay quarterbacks to a higher standard? Unfair.

Jets signed Laron Landry.

I heard Schefter talking about him this morning. Didn't realize he was a FA, but once I did, I said to myself that he is exactly the type of guy the Jets would sign. I know Brandon Jacobs was initially interested in joining the Jets, but I assume this move eliminates that...since Landry is the only player he can bulldoze anymore.

Ha! After losing out on Nelson. 1 year deal for $4m is what Lombardi said on NFL Network. They must think he's healthy enough.

Considering it took Smith 7 seasons to throw 17 TDs 5 INTs, I think it won't take long to recover the lose of Smith.

The Bills should chip in a 4th rounder for Tebow. It's not like Kirkpatrick has earned the right to proceed without challenge. Plus Spiller, Tebow and Fred Jackson would make a nice running combo.

Completely the opposite I would say. I thought Gallery had been pretty good at guard since he moved, he just never should have been drafted high as a LT. But I may be wrong on that count.

I could see that from one perspective, but I think if you bring in Tebow, you're also bringing in the Tebow circus. If you do that to a guy like Fitzpatrick then you probably want to replace him as the starter and I don't think that's the case in Buffalo. Otherwise, you're just creating an ongoing controversy in your organization. In Buffalo's particular circumstances, after signing Stevie Johnson and Mario Williams, I think bringing in Tebow would be a monumentally bad idea for the atmosphere.

That's why I think wherever he goes, it'll be as a strong challenger for the starting role (ex: Cleveland), a change-of-pace guy (ex: NE) or as the backup to a very entrenched starter (ex: Pittsburgh).

I don't believe there's too many teams that think it is a good idea to bring him in. Jacksonville or Miami because they want to sell tickets. I don't think he's useful long term.

When nobody offers anything of worth for him, the Pats will swoop in and get him for a 6th round pick or something, and he'll end up making them look like geniuses. I'm already looking at a couple of things they've done - used Aaron Hernandez in RB situations, and just signed Fells away from Denver to be a blocking TE. Tebow would fit in nicely as another versatile/athletic TE who can also run packages as QB. How about Tebow running the shuffle pass with Hernandez like at UF?

Remember, McDaniels is there now.

No, you're right. He performed well at guard for the Raiders. He was passable last year for Seattle. Depending on the money, this is probably a low-risk signing for the Patriots. I don't expect him to be an All-Pro, but I think he could start and he's able to back up a number of positions if needed to do so.

Yeah, it says there are a lot of really f'n stupid GM's in the league. Or at least a sizable number who'd rather consistently lose pretty than at least have a chance to win ugly.

Say what you will but Tebow has one more playoff win than (among others) Matt Ryan. And if you built a team & staff around both guys to maximize the sum total of their abilities, I absolutely believe you'd get more playoff wins out of Tebow over their lifetime.

Or maybe they place more value on every stat in existence over one in particular.

You mean the one that actually matters?

Look, I'm not at all suggesting that Tebow would make every team better. But there isn't the slightest doubt in my mind that, in a situation where you had both mgmt & coaching on board with it, he'd produce better results than at least 8-10 of them will get otherwise.

But you're requiring that team to completely overhaul their offensive philosophy - both day of game and in terms of how you are building your offensive personnel - under the assumption that the small sample size (where your one stat means much more than every other observable stat) will continue to carry through. That the other 29 teams, with the benefit of an offseason's worth of film study and gameplanning, won't be able to make the necessary adjustments.

(which BTW, it seemed like only PIT didn't actually get in place by the end of last year...we remember what his last three games looked like prior to that one, right?)

Not sure I agree with this. While I anticipate his efficiency numbers will be hard to match, I think with another year in the same system and a much improved supporting cast that his numbers should improve overall.

This would be putting value in games where he lucked into wins as much as anything versus looking at the later games when teams had time to game plan for him better. He started for less than a year so it's hardly enough time to determine how well he can win games or not over the long haul.

The real difference between Tebow for Denver was his teammates ability to believe in him. That's it. Players weren't laying it on the line for Orton. Orton goes to a different team where he gets a fresh start and then beats Denver. The defense played as well as they could, but in the end it still has flaws. Once the losses start coming, is the defense going to continue to sell out knowing they have to cover for Tebow's passing deficiencies? I'm guessing no. The defense certainly didn't show up versus New England in the playoffs.

From Merril Hoge talking about his favorite QB.

“The more I studied him in an NFL setting, the more disturbed I was that he has no clue what he’s looking at,” Hoge said of Tebow. “His IQ as a football player is not very good. That is why they have to come down and make it some of a college-form system that he’s comfortable with in Florida. He can’t execute, from a cerebral aspect, a pro-style system.”

Garrard to the Phins. I guess they won't have to worry about Tebow coming to Miami, and in my opinion that is 2 solid options at QB for Miami. I think Moore deserves the first crack at things though.. Now I wonder if they look for Tannehill or maybe go WR now? Perhaps they're setting up to grab Blackmon.

I watched a clip with Skip Bayless saying 6-8 teams would look into getting Tebow. Now that Miami is set, I want him to name one outside of Jacksonville.
