Last start when Dusty left Arroyo in two batters too long had to be going through his head. So he pulls him two batters too early, and we get this.

Did Dusty just have Cozart PH to try a sacrifice bunt. For Harris, who can bunt for that matter..

Yes. Starting to wonder if Dusty's placing bets on the Reds to lose.

Aaron Harang has struck out nine straight. One away from tying the MLB record.

Yes, Aaron Harang.

I just turned on the Dodgers/Padres game, and I swear I just heard Charlie Steiner say that Aaron Effin Harang has struck out 9 consecutive batters and is 1 K away from tying the major league record.

Josh Thole of the Mets fell for one of the oldest tricks in the books. He was on first, when there was a bunt. As he arrived at 2nd base, the shortstop told him the bunt went foul. So he started trotting back to first and got tagged out.

Yes, Aaron Harang.

In other strange-but-true news, Aaron Harang is my strikeout king in MLB 12. I get more whiffs with his 89 mph fastball than I get with anything Clayton Kershaw can throw.

Yeah, but so will the Dodgers and the Padres, and Japan had nothing to do with THAT.

Well they had to move out Frazier and Fransisco so they could make room in their lineup for the veteran leadership of Willie Harris and Miguel Cairo.

Frazier needs to come back up and play left field, and third base when Rolen is off.

Almost hoping Cairo goes on the DL so that Frazier gets up and gets a chance.

I'm not a Giants fan nor even a Wilson fan particularly (beast pitcher, I'm just not a mark for him) but this is some awfully crappy luck & I hate to hear it.

Darvish looked a lot better in his second start. Gave up 1 earned run in 6 1/3 innings against the Twins. So far the Rangers starters haven't lost a game. Their two losses are both due to blown saves by Nathan.

Bad that he has to go through that. Any type of severe injury like that sucks. From a team perspective, it's good news for the Dodgers and everyone else in the West.

It's neutral for LA, SD and COL, I think. LA's 8-1, but they've played the Padres and Pirates so far. SD isn't any good, and who the hell knows what COL will do.

So, y'know, it isn't BAD news for them, but the Giants being down a closer doesn't make those other three teams appreciably more likely to make the playoffs unless one or more of them are better than I think they are.

Eh, its not great, but its not a season-ender kind of thing either. The Giants bullpen depth isn't what it was the last 2 years (when they were perhaps the best in the game), but there are enough live arms out there. Brian Wilson became a little bit more of an "act" than a pitcher for a while.

Dusty Baker would never play Frazier in left when he has a vet to play in that spot instead.

Frazier's hitting like .160 in AAA right now anyway.

Read somewhere this is the least runs the Reds have scored in the first 9 games of the season in 111 years.

That just means we're due!!!

Nick Johnson just got hit on the hand by a pitch. How much you want to bet he's done for the year (though he is sticking it out on first base for now).

Cairo, Valdez and Harris all on the same bench makes no sense.

Turned on the Pirates game and had a wtf moment when #42 was pitching for the Pirates and #42 was also warming up in the bullpen. I wondered if someone wasn't issued a jersey in time or something.

oh yeah.

I feel they might be diminishing the legacy with all of this every year. In addition, I think they need to do away with God Bless America in the 7th. Do it on special holidays but every game is overboard in my opinion. Or even just do it on Sundays.
