I thought I was pretty safe with a 50 point lead with the GB defense still to go vs. 2 Monday Night WR's and Dustin Keller and Dan Carpenter to contend with.

Then Dustin "Ozzie Newsome" Keller busts out a 27+ point game, and Miami can't get the ball into the end zone giving Dan Carpenter about 100 points.

So now I need the 2 WRs to suck and Green Bay to get about 33 sacks to win.

Son of a bitch.

Oof. 0-3 and in last place. Team needs retooling a bit but there's just not much out there on the WW

Jennings with only 9 points and Aromashodu inactive and I squeak by with a win.

C'mon Randy Moss and Aaron Hernandez. Light up the Dolphins tonight.

But the Pats can still lose by 3.

Barring some serious wackiness on Monday night, all the 2-3 and 1-4 teams are going to win this week, and all the 4-1 and 3-2 teams are going to lose.

That will put one person at 4-2, 8 teams at 3-3, and 1 team at 2-4.

Wow.

Yeah, no kidding!

It's interesting as there isn't a huge range of points between those. Heck, 5 teams are within 15 points. Very high parity league at the moment

crazy league, and I needed a damn win.

Injuries have devastated me this season: Ryan Grant, Reggie Bush, and now DeSean Jackson. who knows how long he will be out but doesnt look good.

Well, we're sortof halfways through the season (week 8/week 9- that bye week plays havoc with the semantics):

Rank Team W-L-T Pct Pts For Pts Against Streak Waiver Moves
1. Eleven Masked Men 7-2-0 .778 1310.84 1244.32 W-3 1 14
2. Dayton Dynamo 6-3-0 .667 1340.55 1224.14 W-4 10 17
3. Road Kill Cafe 5-4-0 .556 1419.09 1344.52 L-1 3 15
4. Lathums Brew Crew 5-4-0 .556 1390.05 1310.87 W-1 5 12
5. Royal Apes 4-5-0 .444 1377.58 1368.29 W-1 6 16
6. Hawai'i Na Koa Ali'i 4-5-0 .444 1301.22 1297.77 L-1 8 22
7. Indianapolis Iguanii 4-5-0 .444 1283.51 1350.84 L-2 9 24
8. CMP's Squad 4-5-0 .444 1236.90 1330.72 W-1 7 12
9. Rafini Express 3-6-0 .333 1344.24 1402.77 L-3 4 16
10. Bed Intruders 3-6-0 .333 1173.15 1302.89 L-1 2 11

After week 6, it really was crazy with one team at 4-2, 8 at 3-3, and 1 at 2-4. Since then, there's been some separation. Eleven Masked Men, that 4-2 team, has reeled off 3 straight wins and leads at 7-2. The 2-4 Bed Intruders are still at the bottom after continuing on another 1-2. Those 3-3 teams still take up the middle 8 but have done everything from Dayton's 3-0, which has them in 2nd at 6-3 to Rafini Express's somewhat unlucky 0-3 (only CMP's Squad has faced more opponent points in the last 3 weeks).

Remember, only 4 teams make the playoffs but I suppose that's fitting at this point as only 4 teams have winning records: Masked and Dayton along with Road Kill Cafe and Lathums Brew Crew, both at 5-4. That said, there are still 5 weeks go to with, at most, a 2 game lead separating the playoff teams and the bottom of the standings. Only 1 game back at 4-5 are the Royal Apes, Hawai'i Na Koa Ali'i, Indianapolis Iguanii, and the aforementioned CMP's Squad.

Every team is still active with all teams having made a move in November and that's always good to see. Makes sense considering how everyone is still in it, too.

As much as I hate to say it, this league actually might be a smidge shallow for my tastes. It seems like there are still some decent players out there even with a pretty hefty bye week where a bunch of players were picked up and some talent was dropped back onto the WW. That said, it's about a half position too shallow- maybe add a RB/WR/TE flex position or something next season. Anyone else with thoughts on this?

I'd still kill for a "DL" position just like in baseball. I'd love to be able to stash, say, DeAngelo Williams at "O" for this week and pick up another RB rather than having to drop someone to do it. I mean this week I have 2 guys on bye, Williams and Addai who won't play due to injury, and 1 actual healthy body on the WW. Unfortunately, Yahoo doesn't support this and I don't know of any site that does. And if you just add bench spots, people will just stash talent there even if they don't need it just to keep someone else from getting it.

Lastly, I do regret not getting the slow, live draft done this season. My team just doesn't feel like I've been able to craft it the way I would have liked. It feels like I was given a team and I've been constantly manipulating it from the WW since week 1.

I'm disappointed that I gave up on Bowe after the Indy game, I was just convinced that his dropitis was incurable. As a fan, I'm glad to see him turn into a weekly stud, but I sure miss his points.

On the flip side, I'm so glad that I lucked into picking up Vick earlier this year. His 52 points last Monday helped me pull out a 1 point victory.

I'm sad this season. But I'm still enjoying the hell out of it. And to be honest, with all the talent there I really think we could/should expand to 12 somehow next season. I think it would make the rosters a lot thinner but just make it more fun with more waiver strategy and what not.

I was feeling ok until McCoy went nuts in the 4th quarter. Now I'm only up 6 with Moreno and Gates (possibly injured) still to go. I still have a shot at a win but it's quite unlikely now

I made the stupid move of actually playing Moss this week, and it may end up costing me the week.

HATE that he is on the Can't Cut List.

Just 2 weeks left and my team is not good and will not make the playoffs. Looking back, I just didn't have a good draft and you can only catch up so much via the WW

YEAH! I love you, Johnny Knox! I get the upset win by 0.07 points thanks to Knox's 11 yard catch in the 3rd quarter! I knew I needed about a 12 yard catch to win in the 2nd half after checking in at halftime. I thought with 11 I had come up just short, but turns out I came in just ahead.

Moving up after finishing 4th last year, I will at least grab 2nd this year.

Lathum also with the 0.01 point win to advance to the consolation finals.

And a scoring change takes off 0.10 points leading to a 0.03 point loss and a change in the championship game matchup.

Let's get it on...

Oh well.

I'd like to think my team came out fired up after that circumstance, as I scored way more points than I have all season this week. But as we all know, that's preposterous.

Still satisfying to grab 3rd though.

Holy crap - that might be the top points scored by any team this season for Dayton. I don't recall ever seeing a total above 200.

That said, the championship game has a little in doubt but Royal Apes have a big hill to climb. They're down 173-124 but have Vick, Colston, Shiancoe, and Bryant left to only McCoy and Akers. I'd much rather be in Road Kill Cafe's shoes but it's not quite over

Danny with the win- congrats

He easily had the most points throughout the regular season with a tremendous balance between WRs and RBs which offset his QB combo of Peyton Manning and "Pick a Fan to be the QB of a bad team"

Nice job, Danny. I kinda lucked into my playoff position, as I had the 6th most points scored in the league, but by far the fewest scored against... about 100 less total scored against me than any other team.

But once I got into the playoffs, I nearly pulled off the first round 1-4 upset, and totally blitzed the 3rd place game.

Had a lot of fun... thanks SI for setting this up and to everyone else for staying active. Looking forward to next season... hopefully we can remember to set up in time for a slow boards draft next year!

Indeed. Hopefully I won't be moving next year so it shouldn't be an issue

It always feels much more like "my team" when I can draft them slowly
