I'm curious as to what was going on in that live chat while he had to go through and sim through those 100 games?

Maybe this can start a new kind of league. Sim a week 10 times and put out all the files. Guys can pick their favorite and go to the next week from there. Everyone can be 19-0 champs at the end of the year.

I have the *PLAYOFF* chat saved, I will be looking into the timestamps from last night and see if I can puzzle out what happened. However from everything I see, it sure looks like cheating.
Damn shame too, but I will reserve judgement until we hear from Rails. Scott Kolleck GM Raiders - FastFL *(Edit: used to say Draft)* Last edited by Skolleck : 11-05-2005 at 03:28 PM. |

I have to assume that all the resims were done before the live chat started, because he kept going back to the beginning of the Playoffs.
As I pointed out before "Why the hell didn't he Save the game after every Detroit win?" Would of save him at least 50 game sims. |

Too bad RalisFS isn't the Commissioner of the NFL with the power to keep "re-simming" games until the Lions win. I would kinda like that.

When Gmac finally came forward in the FastFL he said he didn't like the way the computer handled rookie contracts. This forced him to create a new type of rookie contract for his team.
Any theories on what type of "Justification" RailsFS will be laying down? I guess it kinda sucks that the game rewards the team with the better players? |

I seriously doubt that you'll ever hear from this guy again. He'll probably just disappear, and then eventually come back to the league under an alias.

Ok, I got ya. He'll cheat by re-simming 10 times until his team wins, but "Rails isn't like that." LOL |

I just want to say that Packerfanatic is a great and honest guy, and the cheating of his Co-Commish shouldn't tarnish that. I am not saying that anyone is looking down on Andrew, but as the commish of the RNFL (where Andrew was a GM), I have found Andrew one of the most helpful GMs I've ever had.
Also, it is sad that a simmer of games has influenced results. It is for reasons exactly like this that I don't want anyone else ever having the fmk file for commish mode. |

Thanks, Mark. I appreciate that.
And it turns out that Rails really didn't cheat. I am talking to him right now and after further investigation (with myself and another GM in the league), the boxes that ended up with the real playoff sim were sims that he did on his own time, just to see how the playoffs were going to turn out. He didn't realize that those boxes would be saved (since he was having computer difficulties) and we matched up the timestamps with the chat and the boxes and they match up. We are still looking into it further, but I knew my first intial gut was right...he didn't cheat.

Andrew, I think what he was trying to say is that Rails shouldn't be simming ahead for any reason. That is a major no no. |

Yes, I know it is when he last posted, that is my point. That is when he was on "today", doesn't mean he was on after WrongWay posted that message. I don't even think he has been here yet, when he went to the FastFL boards, it was the first he had heard about it because he was at work.
I am simply defending someone I consider my friend before everyone destroys him here.

He was simming ahead to see what the playoffs would turn out like, he was bored and in hindsight, it was a bad decision on his part. He file was already in and he didn't change it.

Even money says there'll be people dumb enough to believe it though. Also even money says that WrongWay gets portrayed as the villian in the scenario when all is said & done.

if you want to correct things. you need to go back to an old file prior to the playoffs and have your league send there exports in again and you the commish needs to sim the game.
if he had been simming for a long time for you, then the league is ruin, bcause there no more trust no matter how much you try to spin it. |

Do not complare Packerfanatic to Play2win. That is unfair to PF. I think standing up for your friend is different than what P2W did. If I remember correctly, he was criticizing members of FOFC, which I do not agree with at all. I do, however, believe that Andrew should consider finding someone else to sim games, or his league could suffer. |

jbmagic, we will more than likely end up doing that.
I can almost guarentee that if anyone other than Rails would have won the super bowl, however, WrongWay would have never said a word. That is what makes this look so bad.

The problem I have is that at one point in the explanation it mentions "computer problems" but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. (Caught in BS mode maybe?)
Also, it's very strange to me that the only time the alleged cheater wins the SB is also the one that sticks as the actual game results. Just some observations. |

And even if was only simming earlier to see how things turned out, that's cheating. It allows him to mess with gameplan/personnelwhen things don't turn out how he wanted. Whole lots of cheating going on and PackerFanatic is a fucking moron or cheater himself if he doesn't see that. I would advise anyone in that league to get the hell out of Dodge.

Hey now. Fuck you man. You are not in this league nor in this situation right now so you have no idea what is really going on. Don't sit there and chastise me when you have no idea what is really going on.

aaaaah, this perfectly illustrates why i have no desire to play FOF in MP. At least until there are more safeguards built in. Fucking ridiculous shit.

AFAIC, the only way to get adequate safeguards is to remove the other humans from the equation ... otherwise, where there's a will, there's a way to cheat.
