Going to give a few minutes for one of the expansion teams to finish up their lists. I'll start up stuff when they're done.

The first pick of the expansion draft will be a little surprising (get it? )

Had some minor league contracts signed as a mistake. I need to go through and clear that up real quick

Anyone know what happens if you sign a guy to an extension and he has an option between the end of the current contract and the extension picking up?

**IMPORTANT AMATEUR DRAFT NOTE**

Because of the expansion draft, and my poor placement of the Amateur draft, the game doesn't appear to have Draft lists for you this year. Please for this year only, submit your Draft lists to me via PM. Don't worry about them being long, I'll be able to handle them tomorrow night during the sim.

If there are any questions, please let me know. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Alan, why don't you just let AI handle it this year? That's way too much for you to do for everyone.

It is unfair to the teams with top picks to do that. Plus the Amateur draft is easy. Only 5 rounds, 60 picks. Not a big deal at all!

One other small issue.. The draft Pool does not appear to show up for you guys so you won't even know what players are there to draft.

This is a complicated way to see them. Sorry again for the hassle

Go to Manager -> Player Search & Shortlist

This will show you all players in the league (or should if you don't have your filters set to show only specific things.). This means you will also see players that are free agents and players currently on teams.

In order to see the amateur draft players, set your filter to:

Filter:Customize

Ok the new file is up!

Tomorrow we sim the Amateur Draft and finish up Free Agency Stage 1. (We will sim until March 1st tomorrow night).

Exports due by 9pm ET.

**PLEASE READ THE ABOVE POSTS ABOUT THE AMATEUR DRAFT**

Seriously, if anyone has questions about how to use that filter to view the draftable players, or have questions about what you need to PM me for draft lists, please feel free to ask. I feel bad that the Amateur draft was kind of hosed up this year, and don't want anyone to miss out on a player because of it.

I'll be in a softball tournament alot of tomorrow, but will check in and answer questions in the morning and when I can.

Thanks Hyde. You can also see this report in game by going to League Reports -> Rookie Draft Pool.

From the report in game, you can right click on the players to pull up their player cards as well.

So that is an easier/quicker way to view the rookies, but you won't be able to sort or view other information all at once.

It actually wasn't that bad. I just used a spreadsheet to keep track of it all. Most of the early picks removed players from many lists at once, so it got manageable really fast.

Only issues I had was one person who mis-spelled nearly every player name so I had to guess who they meant, and one person who used foreign language characters in names that messed up my spreadsheet searches

I have more teams offering minor league contracts this stage that I need to remove. I'll send out PMs to the teams that did just to let them know. I'm sure it is due to the confusion of the multiple free agency stages. Minor league contract offers are still not allowed until the Spring Training/FA stage.

(So anyone who wants to offer minor league contracts can tomorrow's sim)

The new file is up! We are almost over the craziest offseason in a while for us. Spring Training and Final Free Agency Stage will run tomorrow night. I have a commitment until close to 10:30-11pm ET. Exports are still due by 9pm, but I'll run the sim as soon as I can. A new file should be up by midnight ET.

- The Amateur Draft was completed, I followed everyone's Draft lists as best as I could understand some of them If there were any errors or mistakes, please let me know but unless something is drastically messed up, any errors we'll have to blame on German engineering and move on I fear. Please let me know if anything seems amiss however in case I can do something.

- The new schedule has been put into the game. This thing took me forever. Each team will face the other 6 teams in your league 27 times (14/13 Home/Away Splits). So it is a perfectly balanced scheduled as we can get it. The only down sides is that it causes a few extra cases of days off and occasional 2 days off in a row in the season. I don't expet this to be a huge issue, but it might cause some of you to consider using highest rested starter settings. (Even though that is like Russian roulette some times). The schedule extends a little longer into October now, but it won't break anything on the back end for us, just means we could play into November if postseason lasts long! Please review your schedule and let me know ASAP any issues with it.

- Minor League contract offers for free agents are now allowed again, sorry for any confusion people may have had regarding which stage they could be done in this year. With the extended schedule I'm sure it caused some confusion.

Thanks for all of the kind words this offseason, I think it helps me realize what a great group of owners we have that I don't think I have had one complaint about the bumpy offseason even though at times it sure was inconvenient for you all I am sure.

We're almost ready for the 2037 season!

I noticed in the schedule that often times (like 4 or 5) my team will play a 3 game set at home versus a team and then have to go on the road for one against that same team the next day or vice versa. Not really a big deal, just something i noticed, as I don't think guys get tired from traveling really.

Yeah travel time is not factored in any shape or form in the game. I actually purposely set some of those type of days up myself thinking that four games in a row (1 on the road and 3 at home) would be preferable to having those 1 or 2 games by itself in random spots on the schedule. I tried to make as few of those as possible, but I chose to do that over letting one team have 15 home games to the other's 12 in many cases (if that makes sense).

I got the old postseason information in now. I know I had talked with the expansion teams about possibility of picking up from an old franchise, but it really makes things very ugly, so just doing it like this is better/easier/cleaner/less work.

Well, I won't be Brittdad-era Wyoming bad, but I think I'm gonna be bad in '37.

I'm resisting the urge to tinker and to just let this one ride out and see where the club lands. I mean, there's only so much you can do with a first-year ballclub. I don't really have expectations for this first one, we'll just see where the chips fall.

I have a special request. Just this once, can we run the season early and scrap everything else? I keep messing with my team and I can't focus on my other responsibilities and I'm pretty sure it's going to affect my work performance tomorrow. So, for the future of America (just imagine a classroom full of cute little bilingual kids staring at you with wide pleading eyes), I implore you...I need to know what happens!!!!

But that would give me less time to break things!

Got the champions all imported where it looks right at least...

I can't figure out any way to import the Championship series games though into the history. It looks like the only way I can get that to work would be if our leagues were the national league and american league. The game just won't accept the CL or RL games. So I guess that part won't make its way in.

Just a reminder, tonight's sim will run a little late. Exports are still due at normal time, I'll run the sim as soon as I can!

Looks like a few teams forgot about the bug with the Ask AI to set up the complete Organization bug. Going to try to help them out with fixing them up some.

Just a reminder, hitting the button to have the AI set up your entire organization usually ends up having your good prospects be cut.

Damn, I'm starting to get annoyed at these big contracts New York is offering to the midfielders I am going after. O'Bryan got crazy money, and then somehow Velona gets $34 M from a team over $60 M in cap space? Sheesh!

New York cut alot of money this sim too. They are still under the salary cap.

Hope they didn't cut people they just signed. That would annoy me, too.

Oh well, best thing to do is to take it to the field and hopefully beat them (and the rest of the RL) there.

Not encouraged by 6-15. Even if it's spring training.

Nah Archuleta had some horrible rating hits, so they cut ties with him and freed up more money than they signed Velona for from that.

Stick a fork in Archuleta he is done.
