Question Abe, any plans for The Dungeon 2? While not true werewolf I think it has its place and was one of the most well done games ran on these boards.

I am officially starting the "Please Bull Moose Special Poli Again" bandwagon. Time to hop on board guys, and Abe let us know what it will take to make that happen again.

Signups end tonight at 10 pm, at that time I will lock it up, and send out which role, if any, and which side you are on.

As a reminder, teh chance of corruption will drop significantly after the first few days, and be virtually non-existentant after Night Four.

If you get a one time use item, you may not know what it does prior to it being used, but you will know what it did afterwards, if anything.

Your meeting has become fraught with the cloud of suspicion that hangs over each of you. You've had to be loners to survive the Red Death, and you do not know each other that well. It is very possible that one or more of your are bribed, enspelled, charmed, impostered, or many things worse. Far worse.

However, the message you received from your elder was clear when you got it this morning. There were not supposed to be twenty of you here. How many there were the message did not state, but fewer than that number were invited here to Cape Girardeau to plot against the Red Death's planned actions in the World Fair in Chicago later this summer.

With unknown enemies and unknown numbers, and a certainly that the Red Death will continue to subvert your allies, you need to root out and find the servants now, before it is nigh too late. You have your powers. You have your items. Do you have the wits it will take to survive?

Day One has begun. It ends Monday at 10:00 pm EST

As a reminder, unless your pm specifcally says you can use your Item in a certain way, you do not know what it does, specifically. Perhaps you can figure it out from the name, perhaps not. Some items are one time use ones, and you can figure that out from the pm that tells you that

With all the Lightbringer roles, I half expected to get one, but no, I am a normal Lightbringer.

I did receive an item (of course), and I don't know what it does. I can take a reasonable guess that, with as many times as a particular evil "role" was mentioned in the writeup, that if that role does indeed exist, my item will get in the way of it doing its thing.

I can also surmise from the item I have received that it might have more power in the hands of a particular Lightbringer role, but I am undecided on if I should pass it.

Question for Abe: Are items and roles linked in any way? I mean, for instance, is it reasonable to presume the Sheriff has a weapon (if so, I would guess the Peacemaker mentioned in the writeup)?

Oh, and no, my item is not a Peacemaker or a weapon of any sort. That was just the most obvious example that came to my mind as I wrote out the question.

Good morning my fellow Lightbringers. I suppose it should come as no surprise that the servants of the Red Death have infiltrated this meeting, but I have confidence in our ability to ferret them out despite their vast power.

I must admit that I'm overwhelmed at the scope of the investigation we must undertake. The evil-doers seem to have so many places and guises to hide under and even when we find one we may not know the full extent of their power from their name alone. And then there are these items, one of which we all have and I'm guessing that their true abilities are greatly unknown to us. So much is unclear to us now, and we must be careful about what we reveal, but reveal we must as some point if we are ever going to defeat the Servants.

Okay roleplaying over. I have some idea what my item could do from its name, but it would be a guess. Doesn't seem like a harmful item though. I have to say reading over the ruleset again, I think the odds are really stacked against my fellow Lightbringers because so much is unknown and so much of a chance for corruption, even from our good spellcasters, that I think we have a much tougher chance of winning than the normal village. But hey that's why I signed up-for the challenge.

In a complicated game like this, knowledge is the key I think. We may have to be a bit more forthcoming than normal about things that happen in the game, our character, and our item if we want to give ourselves the best chance of winning it.

Both are completely random

I agree, in theory, but the higher than normal ability to convert poses problems with the ability to share so publicly.

A couple of thoughts on my item:
1.) Abe forced me to go to the dictionary to verify that I did in fact know the meaning of the word used.
2.) Once I got that out of the way, I have good reason to believe I know what my item will do and it is useful.

As a result, I'll be looking for reasons to trust people quickly. I may have reason to pass the item at some point, so this is a priority for me.

I agree somewhat with that too, but if we get our information out early enough, perhaps before some of these conversions take place, it can help in the long run when we find out someone's been converted.

Checking in. I have a good guess at what my item does, though it's not of much use to me.

What's the order in regards to trading items/night actions/night kills?
