I wonder if Kwhit can clarify that - either by saying we don't know ahead of time or if all three of us check for traps if that takes the same time.

Because that does make sense what you just said EF, though I don't know if we all open the boxes at once.

His earlier post says that if we have one person opening all the boxes it would take longer than if we each opened boxes so I took that to say that we act simultaneously. Clarification would be good, just in case. |

Sounds like you guys got it. I am out the door to my other job, so I'll let one of you handle the PMs. I am fine going detect or no detect, whatever you guys want to do. I agree that if you choose to have me detect trap, there would seem to be no harm in you both attempting it as well.
And, yeah, I will go for Chest #5. Thanks and good luck.

As one of my flyers/eagles friends said - "enjoy mcnabb, i'm going to miss him". And we will, but likely not to the tune of the playoffs unless the skins do some serious great work on draft day trading JC and others (portis?haynesworth?carter?) to stockpile some picks. |

I think Shanahan still has what it takes, he might have neglected his defense at the end of his time in Denver, but he is an actual offensive mastermind (sorry, you were never one Jim Zorn) and commands respect, something which aside from Joe Gibbs no skins coach has been able to do in a while, and Gibbs was trying to play in the 80's, not the new millenium.
I'm just not getting my hopes up, I've done it way too many times as a skins fan, and I'm skeptical they'll make smart moves at the draft. We'll see! Eagles are my least hated team in the NFC East, I root for em if the Skins are eliminated because of my flyers affiliatioon penguins just scored |

You ignore the first chest. As you pass it by, you hear the DJ snicker.
Jackal tries his hand at chest 2. It's a good thing he checked for traps. He disarms an acid trap in short order and inside finds 1 healing potion. You may also take the vial of acid from the trap. You skip chest 3 and EF checks out chest 4. Not trapped or locked. Inside is 50gp. Easiest gold you ever made. Then CR moves on to chest 5. He checks for traps (there were none) and had a devil of a time unlocking it. But once you do you find: It's infested with rats! They bite and claw you, doing some damage, but you easily dispatch them. Inside, you see what the rats were after. A block of cheese. Cheese!? All that for some cheese? But then you notice what the cheese is wrapped in. A scroll! The mage quickly takes a look at it and determines that it is a Scroll of Constitution. Reading it will give 1 character a CON bonus (let me know who uses it - right now the scroll is in possession of the character who opened this chest - CR). You press onward into the next room after 5 turns. |

Room 4:
This room is small and dimly lit. In the middle of the room are two small marble fountains, bubbling liquid. One fountain is carved with arcane runes and symbols that you cannot make out. A green liquid bubbles from it. The other fountain is carved with the symbols for the Sun and Moon. A pale red liquid flows within it. No exits are visible. What do you do? Let me know my noon tomorrow. |

I am seriously wondering if we actually should backtrack for chest one. Could that hold the key to this next room?

But I think we should be able to get out of this room with what's available inside of it. I thought about combining the liquids too, perhaps drinking one of them.

Trying to figure out the significance of the symbols. Obviously we don't know what the arcane symbols are. Liquid is green, associated with poison.
On the flip side we've got the sun and the moon, possibly indicating time, or a loss of time? Pale red liquid, blanking on any clues there. |

Was thinking about the liquids and what the colors could represent. Not sure if there is any meaning to the red being pale red.
I wasn't even thinking about poison for the green, saw green and red and was thinking stop and go (red lights) but can it be that simple? |

True, like how this banter is merely a way to add to the post count.
(seriously, though, good luck guys...and jackal, I don't have any animosity to you or anyone here, though I understand you and others having it against me)
