Terminator Stout
It's not available outside the NorthWest, but by far the best I've ever tasted. |

Guinness is definitely at the top of the list, though there are several others pretty close. I'm also a really big fan of most Pyramid beers.

My top choice would be Blue Moon Belgian White. Following closely behind would be Yuengling and Harp.

This is a great thread since no one has to argue (unless someone votes for Bud and Miller.) Lots of great beers here, I've tried most of them, at least. I envy H_B for living in Belgium, I've tried Grimbergen several times when I've visited London, I really wish I could get more of the Belgian beers here since they are excellent.

Anchor Steam Sierra Nevada Sam Adams Pete's Wicked ...but mostly microbrews. A few of my big favorites are Rogue Brewery (Oregon), Upstream (Omaha), and Schlafly (St. Louis), but I've rarely met a microbrewery I didn't like.

Belgium is a great place for beer. The local bars (can't really call 'em pubs) are all incredibly cheap. Lady H_B lived two doors down for a place simply called "Beermania". It had hundreds of Belgian beers. There was another bar we used to hit we simply called "The Beer Place." It had over 200 Belgian beers, each with their own glass. A small place, but perfect for sampling the beers. A funny thing about Stella Artois is that it's basically like the "Budweiser" of Belgian beers. It's a step up from "Maes" and "Jupiler", but a small step. It's not very highly regarded at all. In fact, they tried selling it in England for a while as a cheap, Belgium beer. Its sales were horrible. There's plenty of cheap beer in England. So the Stella folks simply doubled the price, marketed it as a high class, foreign import and sales went through the roof. The power of advertising...

The Olde Fezziweg at least has the funniest name. It was decent. I don't think they made it this past year.

I'm not a big fan of fruit or very spiced beers, but the Fezziweg would be my first choice if I wanted something with a really different taste too it. I am not a big fan of Sam Adams regular beers, but all the specialty or seasonal beers I've had from that brewing company (Boston?) have been pretty good.

Personally I can't think of any beers that taste good, however I find that after I get a couple beers in me that Coke is the greatest tasting thing in the world!

as I said in another thread to JeeberD, it's the Eau Bénite for me, probably quite tough for you South of the border to find, but if you get the chance to get your hands on any of the Unibroue beers, try them...
As for day to day beer, it's Labatt's Blue for me, well, Blue Light nowadays... FM

They sell it here in Quebec too, I don't know how it is selling but honestly, I think it tastes, and smells like skunk piss. Well, I've never tasted skunk piss, but that's what I think it would taste like ... Only my opinion though... FM

I'm like Dark Cloud, I have never acquired the taste and I don't think I ever will. That being said, my wife is a beer geek. She brews her own beer and loves big Belgian beers and Barleywines. Some of her favorites: Westvleteren 12, Rochefort 10, Duvel, Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot, etc.

I drink mostly Miller Lite, however as premium beers go
I love san Miguel, great beer. Also black cherries are great, a black and tan but Sam Adams cherry wheat instead on Bass, good stuff. |

Pacifico, Tecate, Corona (by far the easiest beer to drink), Guiness, Ultra is very light in taste. Dead Guy Ale isn't bad either.
Im convinced that Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada is a curse that God has sent to this earth. |

Really? Wow. And I thought the comments that people think Bud Light is their favorite beer were insane. Personally, I'm a Guiness man myself. Other beers of note -- Fat Tire Newcastle Brown Ale Bass Harp Full Sail Amber Ale (a new favorite of mine) Smithwick's Generally speaking, I love any Porter or Stout microbrew as well. The darker, the better

Heh. Well aren't you a college sophomore now? You and your friends, if they ever do, probably won't start to like dark (translation: expensive) beer until later in your college careers, if not after that. Like you said -- cheap stuff is the best way for college kids.

Like most Nova Scotians, I started on steady diet of Keiths (long before it became a trendy Upper Canadian fad). Now I prefer Olands Export, Propeller Bitter, Sleeman's Honey Brown and yes, even a Bud on a hot day.
