Won't there be problems with/a huge break because of Easter weekend if you start next Monday?

Obviously, any holiday can cause issues, but I would think Easter is less of a problem, because it falls on a Sunday, when we're usually not running the game.

This is good, I work from home and so I am oblivious to holidays. Yes, keep that in mind, but most people don't travel or anything for Easter so hopefully won't be bad.

In one age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a chill filled the air. The chill was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.

False Dragons have risen many times in the past, but there is an urgency in the air now, as if the time for the true Dragon Reborn is coming closer. Many say the Shadow stirs, as if the Dark One grows closer to the world, and some even say his Forsaken begin to slip free of their prison. Nation looks at nation, neighbor looks at neighbor, always aware that Darkfriends can exist anywhere, from the humblest village to the tallest citadel. Some even say they exist among the Aes Sedai, those who have sworn their life to fighting the Shadow.

Wherever they are, whoever they are, those who serve the Light have no choice now but to find them. If the Dark One nears and the Dragon comes again, then the Last Battle draws close, and the Shadow must be dragged into the Light. Men and women from every corner of the world must find a way to work together, to find those who serve the Shadow and defeat it. That is your challenge here today, to look at one another, no matter from what nation you hail, and decide who among you has sworn to serve the Shadow?

Something worth pointing out early on - I live in the UK (5 hours ahead of US Eastern time), so it's very unlikely that I'll be online around the deadline.

Headed out for meetings but did a reread of the rule set this morning. It seems as though we have 5 distinct groups, 4 that follow the 'light' (good) and 1 that follows the 'shadow' (evil). We have 16 players so that leaves 3 or 4 for each group. Evil probably has a larger group (just going off of vanilla game numbers, 3 of 11). I would guess 4 or 5. For game setup if we have 4 evil then that leaves 12 of us for the 4 groups. 3 each group. Each group seems to have a victory condition once evil is gone. Creates an interesting dynamic during gameplay. I will try to post more thoughts when I get time during the day.

4 or 5 seems very high, even if there are a lot of roles out there, possibly 4 I guess but I'd land on 3 and some nuetrals or some sort of cultist role. Given that the different factions might result in chinks for the shadow to exploit I don't think there should be that many members of the shadow.

In fact rereading the rules makes me think that there are 4 factions and the shadows are lurking within these factions rather than being a faction of their own.

To clarify several rules. Every player in the game is a member of one of the Factions: Aes Sedai, Aiel, Tear or Illian, whether they are Light or Shadow or whatever. It could be that because of their role they don't give a fig for the goals of their faction, but they are still considered a member of it.

There are some items in the game. Some have special rules for being passed or transferred. But unless otherwise indicated, any item can be passed to a particular other player of your choosing, as a night action.

Lol, thanks cheeks! We have a long way to go today... Most haven't even checked in yet.

This game is a bit more difficult than I thought as it seems like evil is spaced throughout. It also seems as though the 4 groups may not be weighted equally with all of the ajah's listed. My spreadsheets just got more complicated!

Another thought I had on my drive from Chicago to Milwaukee... If anyone has any items it is probably best to transfer them to someone else if you will not be around between dusk and dawn. Per the game set the items can be transferred as a night order but if there is a nk and the item is not transferred then it is lost. Correct me if I am wrong on this.. That is not to say that all items are necessarily in good hands at the beginning but I would think so. Thoughts? Just want to make sure we try to maximize our abilities.
