Are there any alternate locations for the WSM patch? I'm getting terribly slow d/l times from SI's site - it's projecting 1 hour of d/l time for the small file (22 MB) on my T1 line.

Did you buy Football Manager from sendit.com? If so, I ran into the same problem and you'll want to check out this thread on the SI boards.... http://community.sigames.com/eve/ubb...17/m/838206449 Needless to say after clearing my afternoon to start my new career on 5.0.3 I wasn't happy. I'm getting a refund though and going to the local Gamestop to buy WWSM today. |

Thanks for the links FM, they made a huge difference. I have been checking the dugout the past couple of days and they still don't have the WSM patches up, but I was not aware of the other site you linked. I still had 1/2 an hour to go on the small file from SI, but will now have the 66 meg in less than 3 minutes.
Thanks again!

no problem, glad to be of help. I realized afterward that the dugout may not have the WWSM patch, and I remembered a FM site for US people. I figured if one site had to have the WWSM patch, other than SI, it had to be that one FM

Yeah, I have Football Manager 2005, and I tried each patch the one with the data and the one without it.

It's just so weird because without any of the patches installed the game loads up and works fine, and after I install any of the patches, I even tried to do the 5.0.2 patch and it gave me the error. And yes they are all the FM patches for the FM game.

I think I may have found a bug in the new WWSM 5.0.3 patch. I play in Serie C2 in Italy and before my matches would have refs assigned. Now all I get is "unknown".

Great patch. My crash problem is solved and the regens look great even though I patched an in-progress game. I think this is the first version of CM/FM with proper quality regens. Great job SI!
Teams are now asking to loan my players. Good stuff. Last edited by Desnudo : 03-04-2005 at 07:33 PM. |

Didn't think we'd touched that area - can you confirm this is the same game, just after the patch? (if you can then I'll look into it). |

I continued my same game from 5.0.2 to 5.0.3 and every match since has had the "unknown" ref.

Well I decided to just not use the patches, but I started a new career with Rosenborg in Norway's Premier division and man it's fun dealing with the guys whose heads are getting huge and they all want to move to a bigger club. I just wish I could tell them they need to actually start performing if they wanted an offer.

That is so odd that you can't get the game to work with the patch.

Um... in that case, just change the language in game! It isn't that hard to go from "English(US)" to "English"

I started a new game with Havant and Waterlooville (Conference) and I can't stand the Unknown ref. I wouldn't want to be known either if I gave one squad, which also happens to be my squad, 2 red cards and 2 penalties in the first three games of the season. I hate Mr. Unknown! |

Marc,
At the end of my first season with the new patch, I received around 70 youth players into my academy at Norwich. I was wondering if this would be considered a bug? 70 stinkers too. At least give me 30 or 40 wonderkids. |

dola,
Has there been any reports of problems offering contracts to unprotected players and players with <6 months? I've been having varying success offering contracts to unprotecteds. Sometimes the option "Approach to sign" is a available, sometimes not. I just received a notice for someone's contract expiring in 6 months and yet cannot offer them contract. Thanks. As an example, here is a picture of a guy who has both an unprotected contract and less than 6 months left on the contract. No option to sign and right clicking the name in the news area doesn't bring it up either. Buggery? Last edited by Desnudo : 03-07-2005 at 02:47 PM. |
