Walks off under own power, might not be as bad as it looked. Initially he grabbed for his knee and was in obvious pain, and couldn't put weight on the leg when he tried to stand up.

If I had to guess, I would bank on a mild to average sprain. He might miss a week or two.

From NFP:

Former NFL linebacker Jamie Winborn, who played for a number of NFL teams, is reportedly missing, WSMV Channel 4 in Nashville reports.

Winborn, 34, last played in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans three years ago, had weapons and drugs in his Atlanta home, according what his wife told police.

According to reports, Winborn has been battling cancer.

Turns out he is good to go, just got spiked a bit. I imagine he won't see the field next week as a precaution.

Damn, I loved him when he was with the Niners. I turned him into a beast in Madden. Hope this turns out okay.

There's always Chris Simms to challenge anybody for that title, but maybe Kolb is worthy of this title.

Chris Chandler wasn't fragile, he just invited big hits. He behaved like a RB whenever he ran with the ball.

So the Pats open up with Buffalo, who will be starting a rookie UDFA at QB, and the Jets, who might have an even worse QB situation right now. Maybe Tebow will see some early playing time!

I think the only way this happens is if his recovery is quicker than expected, and somehow they are still in the playoff hunt at that point in the season. Why chance another injury otherwise.

This isn't taking anything away from the Pats, but it's amazing how year after year their division schedule is six JV games.

Well, 4 - usually one team is frisky (this year Miami). But I was hanging out with a mixed group of Pats/Jets/Dolphins/Giants/Eagles fans a few nights back, and people were talking a little smack here and there (Hernandez this, Gronk that, Tebow, "no WR's", Lions just smoked you, etc), but it doesn't even get a rise out of any Pats fan I know at this point. It sounds incredibly cocky, and I swear none of us is some stereotypical Masshole fan who thinks we're some unstoppable juggernaut that should win a Super Bowl, but we're all just confident we'll win 10+ games and make the playoffs (barring a Brady injury), and even the opposing fans all acknowledge that (while following up that Eli or the Ravens would beat us in the playoffs again or whatever). Outside of those first couple Rex Ryan years we really haven't had an in division rival since the late 90's - we all measure ourselves against the Colts/Steelers/Ravens/Giants/Broncos/Chargers, and I think that's helped drive the perception of Boston fans as elitists, when really a lot of it is a product of having a really weak division. Especially when considering all the measures intended to help achieve parity in the NFL, it's been a ridiculous 10-12 years.

And there was the Cassel year where the Pats went 11-5 and finished 3rd in the division.

So are the Broncos and the Jets vindicated for not turning the franchise over to Tim Tebow?

Not surprising considering the Pats only tend to keep two QBs. I would say there's almost no real chance he gets picked up being this late in the process unless a team gets hit twice with QB injuries.

One place to keep in mind - perhaps - could be Atlanta.

Dominique Davis was unimpressive in pre-season & the team is believed to be looking for a veteran backup from amongst the cuts.

Blank (supposedly) likes character guys, I could see Tebow being stuck on the practice squad over some of the other options that look to be available right now.

The 49ers cut 13-year veteran Brian Jennings this morning, meaning Kevin McDermott has made the 53-man roster and will be the starting longsnapper. Pretty cool for the former UCLA longsnapper. In his four years, he never had a single bad snap

Jets release Greg McElroy. They should probably go ahead and start Matt Simms week one. He can't be any worse than Sanchez or Smith.

It's relative. Compared to D. Davis, Tebow is like Bart Starr in terms of NFL experience.

Was reading an article on the Cards SB Nation site about potential waiver wire candidates. Webb was mentioned. This is what the Chicago SB Nation site had to say about him:

"It's been a tumultuous three seasons for J'Marcus Webb. A seventh round pick with all of the physical tools, but absolutely none of the polish, he was thrust into the position of starting for a team that lacked depth at any given position across the offensive line.
"Oft-maligned by the fanbase, a multitude of false starts, mental mistakes, and what appeared to be a lack of focus on plays, often led to his quarterback getting creamed and plays falling apart."

Uh...I think (I hope!) the Cards will pass on him. Really sucks about Cooper-hope the injury does not set his career back and become a yearly injury potential.
