Butter: Ahh yes, I'm listening to that right now as a matter-of-fact! One of my all-time favorite songs... "The way we were.. the chance to save our souls.. and my concern is now in vain. Believe the word... I will unlock my door.. and pass the Cemetery... Gates" LUV IT!!
Pass: I heard Pat once I think. path: They're a little fast huh? Has anyone used the chat feature? At least that's what I think it is. I sent path an IM but to no avail |

I was OK with the fast, I think it was the lines "I despise this place/I hate the human race" or something like that where I got the anger from. Yes, I am very good at catching nuance. Quote:
Man, I don't see that I got anything. I don't see a chat feature on my screen though.

Oh, my bad, it's not a chat feature. I cluttered your profile with comments... sorry, don't know how to remove them now I'm currently listening to DJ Olive. It was an interesting transition going from Rob Zombie to DJ Olive which is kinda jazzy. |

I haven't been thumbsing anything up or down. I'll end up thumbsing all of my selection, and probably thumbs some stuff down. I like it the way it is.. that way there's a nice variety.. if we thumbs up too much of one genre, it will turn into that and that's what I want to avoid. The beauty of it is that there's a nice variety goin' on.

Added the station - wademoore AT gmail.com
I'm not sure if we're supposed to be doing 3 songs or one artist or what, seems all over the board. So, I'll start with artist - Carbon Leaf If it's three songs, I'll add more.

I think right now, we're just saying that each week you can add one song or artist. Some people are just talking about what the station is playing. Carbon Leaf is added. |

Alright, I'm listening to FOFC radio and I realized that there's a lot of angry music some of you probably aren't into. If ya want, you can remove Pantera and substitute it with GnR.

I don't think there's a need to worry. It'll get sorted out as we add stuff. If you feel there's too much angry, you can add something less angry next week, or vice versa. |

Might have been No Alternative. Uncle Tupelo was my first introduction to Alt-Country. Anodyne is still one of my favorite discs. On a tangent, I wonder how many other bands have split up into two successful groups? I can't think of any others offhand.

I think my adds this week will be songs rather than artists so I can try and cover a few different bases.

Me too. I've really liked what I've been hearing so far, and that's despite the fact that my recommendation was more of an FOFC joke just to get things started. I've been pondering what song I'll add quite a bit -- I think the Pandora site says that songs are better to add, because you're getting more into what you like, rather than an artist, which can be a little more varied in their songs. I dunno. But I think that if I'm interested in adding an artist, I'll just pick a song I'm in the mood for, to tell the machine, and all of you, what song I like. It's tought to decide, though. Part of me wants to choose based on what I think is lacking in the station, but another part of me also wants to recommend stuff that people who have recommended other things on the station might like.

I think generally that an artist that has a particular sound will be a bit less varied than an artist that is quite eclectic -- along the lines of Old 97's vs. someone like Beck for example.
I agree with you on pondering what kinds of songs. I'm going to avoid certain songs I might like to put on there simply because I hear similiar things already on the station currently. My goal is going to be to try for more eclecticity (I don't even know if that's a word!).

When we add songs, aren't we also just adding one of those at a time as well?

Just played Madder Rose, I think based off a seed by Lush. I know I'm supposed to be in this to hear new music, but I like when some of the new music other people have suggested makes it so that I hear stuff I already like!
