Well, I'm never a fan of voting people that haven't checked in but I do want to get a vote in. I feel that wolves rarely lay low when a game starts and do give some conversation. I've seen more bad lynches early from the no show votes than good lynches so I'm putting on somebody that has been around. Also, deadlines are pretty rough for me (one of the reasons I haven't been playing lately) due to kid's bed time so I'm putting out an early vote. If I recall correctly, I'll probably be crucified for putting a vote on a third party, especially in a game this size but we'll see.

PB's vote count is flawed. He must be a wolf.
I'll be in and out until 7 and then gone until late, so as I warned, I'm pretty useless today. |

Just revisited the deadline time and it would help if I could do basic math. I'm good for the 9:30 EST/8:30 CST deadline. For some reason, in my head, I was thinking it was 7:30 CST.

"So class, remember that when testing someone to see if they're a wolf, you must make sure to use pure silver and clearly decapitate the head."
With that bit of instruction the class descends on Darth Vilius. After the head come off you see his face contort in pain, briefly grow a pair of fangs and then die. DV WAS A WOLF! |

I would guess BK had a role that would convert if the wolf was killed night one, or maybe just felt he could challenge us with a 5:2 start. For the record I obviously didn't have anything on Darth, I just figured we didn't want a tie, and better to off the guy that hasn't voted than an active player.I should be around most of the day tomorrow to participate, sorry about the uneven start on my end. |

When did PMs go out? I didn't see one last night and all of a sudden I find out I'm a wolf and have already been lynched. A little heads up next time Barkeep!

A new day, a new mangled corpse. Today it is of your fellow student Danny. You see the principal crying, as is a woman who you presume is the principal's wife. Wonder why they're so broken up over Danny's death?
Anyhow another day, another chance to "learn" something. |

Looking at the rules, that's not awful necessarily since Danny could've been wolf or villager. He was obviously villager but that keeps the duke power out of wolf paws.

Good catch. I actually didn't notice it was an either/or allegiance role until you said that.
Although of course we now know it was indeed in the hands of a villager. But you're right, one good thing to take from the removal of the duke is that we don't have to worry about it being a wolf role (or worry about it, period).

I assumed that meant Danny had been having an affair with both the principal and his wife. Or her wife, maybe it was a lesbian couple.

So if we assume two wolves to start, possibly one a cunning, duke was a good guy ... we don't know if Darth was a cunning, though there was nothing in the writeup to hint at a role, which we did see in Danny's writeup. So I'm going to assume we either don't have a cunning or there is a cunning left. So the only seer scan that matters at this point is finding a wolf. So don't bother coming out unless you've got one.
Here's the vote record I have: ntn votes darth (42) 1 autumn votes danny (45) 1-1 PB votes autumn (52) 1-1-1 CF votes Danny (55) 2-1-1 Chief votes Darth (57) 2-2-1 Autumn unvotes Danny (63) 2-1-1 Autumn votes Darth (63) 3-1-1 NTN coming out and voting Darth, if NTN was bad, would be a ballsy move. I'm going to bump him up in my trust mildly. My play could certainly be seen as a wolf trying to gain trust, though that's a bit of a stretch. Still, no credit for me I think. Chief's vote looks good, bumping up darth when he could have bumped me up instead. That leaves PB and CF for me to choose between. Neither vote looks good, or all that bad. Neither voted Darth when they could. Did Danny not vote? Or did I miss that? That's odd, but I guess meaningless at this point. I will look over posts again and then vote between those two. |

Alright, quick vote breakdown (even though it was D1):
If I were a wolf in a small game then I would've voted in one of two ways. A- I would've put my vote on a wolf (ntn, CR, Autumn) B- Cast a vote that is essentially meaningless or to broaden the choices thus making it easier to manipulate the vote (PB) The two votes that probably look the most suspicious are my own, particularly since I did not move to make a difference when maybe I could have. Although I will say that I would've continued to lay low and pretend bad deadline timing if this was my intention. Autumn made a big move to cast the lynching vote on a wolf on D1. I'm hoping/assuming that he got scanned last night BUT that won't matter as the sneaky wolf is the one that is left. This essentially renders our seer useless at this point as well. There are 5 of us left, 4 villagers, 1 wolf. A seer/bodyguard reveal gives us 2 guaranteed villagers and 3 others. If the wolf pulls a fake reveal, it's a pretty easy catch even if we lynch the wrong person. If the wolf plays villager, it gets a little more difficult because we're left with 3 suspects. BUT I still think, mathematically it could work out with a reveal as well. Here is my plan, accept/reject it as you will: Seer/BG reveal vs. fake reveal we end up limited to two suspects, the real whatever and fake whatever. Pretty easy pickings OR Seer/BG reveal and three claim villager We have three suspects, lynch one (2/3'rds chance we're wrong), someone gets nightkilled leaving us with, after the nightkill, either 2 cleared, 1 suspect (100% chance) OR 1 cleared player and 2 suspects (a 50/50 chance for the cleared player to make the right call). What I see here are 2 scenarios that are guaranteed wins and 1 that is 50/50. I'm okay with those odds but I would like to hear others' thoughts. |

Good point. I was thinking a seer reveal was useless in terms of their scans, but yo'ure right that having role reveals would probably be useful at this point. Useful enough that your suggesting it makes me feel better about you.

No way a wolf wants to reveal today, that eliminates their chance of winning, basically. So cutting out two suspects is good, as long as they're not people I already cut out ;-)

One problem, PB. BK states that all roles might or might not be in the game. And that was before any roles are listed. I would think if we have two wolves (and we clearly do), we probably have at least the two main primary roles as well. But I'm iffy in a short game just making that assumption and assigning trust without thinking about it some.

But that is a small chance, so I would probably lean in favor of PB's plan as well.

Hmmm, I didn't catch that in the rules but good call CR. That may change things. Small games are always so tough for me because there just isn't the time to generate the normal data/history that I feel more willing to take big risks. So I'm probably still on board with this idea despite the fact that not all roles may be in the game. |

Why would I do something as ballsy as vote the first person to 2 in such a small game as a wolf?
And are there REALLY no role reveals on death? REALLY? After last game we're going back there? |

Maybe Danny was the Duke and the Duke was a villager AND the DV was a normal wolf, NOT the cunning. OR....Danny was a lesbian too.
