I just posted the rules. I'll send out the roles, and post the storyish, background/setting stuff later this afternoon or evening. Whenever I'm done doing that, Day 1 can unofficially start, but the first lynch won't be until Thursday at 9 p.m. EST.
Ok, I'm going to bed now.

One more thing - if or two more people want to join before I wake up later, feel free. I'll work you in.

I don't know if you guys mind, but I actually had my wife just ask me before bed if she could play. I was amazed, but have misgiving, since FOFC is my guy place. But I'll bite the bullet and let her in, if you guys don't mind.
I guess because that would be 19, I will accept one more player. Let me know if you don't mind me having my wife play. It's no biggie.

If you want an even number, I don't mind bowing out. Especially if your wife is also a Sparty.

Sorry. you're in. Apparently, my wife hasn't signed up yet. I will ask her about it later. If she's changed her mind, I'll just keep it at 19. Regardless, I'm going to have to wait until she gets home to send out roles.

Guys, I'm having an issue at home (house maintenance), so I will won't be sending out roles and things until I get to work. I work 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. PST, so don't wait up.

I'm sending out roles now, but it might take a little while. Hopefully, I can get them all out by the time I get to work.
By the way, my wife was having trouble registering, but I just realized that I bookmarked the old FOFC on her computer, so that's why it wasn't working. I'll put her down to play, but I don't know what her user name will be yet.

(I posted this in the first post of this thread, but I'll also post it here)
It is a late night in December on the campus of Miskatonic University, in the gloomy town of Arkham, Massachusetts. Snow is falling heavily, completely blanketing the grounds. The campus is empty, save a few students and faculty members who haven't yet left for Winter Break. At the center of the campus stands the historic, three story Orne Library. The library is renowned for it's extensive collection of over 400,000 books, but even more interesting is the mysterious Vault in the bowels of the building. Over the years, there have been whispers of what might be contained there. Rumors abound of forbidden books of ancient knowledge, dark grimoires of twisted rituals, and scrolls that if read, could drive a person insane. There is even the belief that the Vault may harbor the last existing copy of a tome so vile that it is said to have the power to bring back the dead to an “unlife” of servitude to the invoker. Worse yet, the tome may hold an even greater power – the power to rouse beings that a sane person could never fathom, nor would ever want to. That tome is called the Necronomicon, and those beings are the Great Deep Ones, Cthulhu and his brethren, sleeping beneath the sea in the long lost city of R'lyeh. There are those that are so deranged, that if the tome fell into their hands, the world would become a nightmare from which it could never awake. In the library, there are a handful of diligent students going about their studies in the warm comfort of it's walls. Suddenly, a blinding flash of white light fills the room, blinding everyone. A low hum begins to resonate from seemingly everywhere, and the ground rumbles from it's deep bass. An unearthly voice cries out “Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn”!! As soon as the final strange word is uttered, the light disappears, and the low hum ceases. Everyone is startled, but seem to be unhurt. After the shock wears off, the students instinctively run to the doors and windows in an attempt to flee the building, but all exits are sealed so tight, that nothing can move them, and the window panes are like solid stone. You are one of those students, and you are trapped and at the mercy of whatever or whoever trapped you. You must get out, or somehow you know that you will perish. As soon as I have all roles sent out, I will start day 1. If I haven't said that all roles are out, and the day has officially started, please don't actually start "playing".

With the PM system being down, anyone having a problem reading their PM as Schmidty sends them out should be able to see them in your email if you have your account set up to send you an email on PM notification. Trying to access it here for now gives a database error until they get that fixed.

FWIW, I had the wrong box check marked so I had PM notification actually turned off. I did PM myself a test to see about the email thing and when I went to my CP I could read my PM even though I got the database error when I sent it. Odd.
Neat, but odd. Tried it twice and it worked both times.

Maybe Schmidty hasn't even started sending them out yet then! I saw St.cronin mention he was having problems reading a PM in the other forum so assumed they were going out and was trying to be helpful (Didn't realize he wasn't in this game!)
I haven't gotten my PM yet either, but I have gotten other non-WW related PMs sent this morning for some Sim leagues I am in. I would assume if no one has gotten one yet, then maybe he just hasn't started sending them! |
