Him & a fellow freshman buddy from Charlotte ... in one of the more hostile environments in the conference. What could possibly go wr ... never mind, that'd take all night to cover.

I've never understood why stations don't switch the end of the blowout to the alternate channel rather than starting the next game on the alternate channel. Is there a technical/production reason?
Looking at you Arkansas. |

Didn't expect Penn State to be in it in the 4th quarter. May be a good finish to this one.

Difficult choice between rooting against State Penn and rooting for chaos so that FBS has to go to a bigger playoff.

Kentucky with a 51 yard FG to win as time runs out. 4 wins, Austin Peay on the schedule, and very winnable games with Mizzou and Georgia remaining. Does Mark Stoops keep his job if they make a bowl game?

I don't think the halftime adjustments Ole Miss made defensively are working yet :/

Wow. Penn State up 24-21 with a little over four to go. Unreal. My condolences to Buckeyes fans(so rarely I can honestly say that). hasn't been the greatest 4th quarter for you.

God bless human error, but how can you be standing 5 feet away, looking directly at that, and not call it PI?

So, does a 2 loss Wisconsin team get invited when they win the B1G?

Really poorly coached game by Urban tonight. Running the kick team out late for a long FG lost the game.
Terrible officiating obviously with the missed PI and phantom horse collar but the under utilization of Curtis Samuel was baffling. |

The Ohio State loss has to make Washington and Louisville happy. It probably puts Washington in the mix and leaves Louisville the last man out.

Or he does a Ty Willingham and gets a lower level job lined up already for when this ends, since there's no way he makes it out this year. No real need to go be a coordinator right now, lots of P5 conferences would happily have him right their ship. |

Yes, I'd say so. And in the top half by a fair bit.

1708 total yards in the Oklahoma/Texas Tech game. A tape for teams to watch on how NOT to play defense.

I guess I'm just not seeing it this year. What's the signature OOC win for the Big 12 right now? Texas over ND? WVU over BYU or Mizzou? I'd make the argument that the top of the ACC and Pac-12 are a lot better than the top of the AAC, but not the Big 12 this year. Baylor vs WVU could be undefeated teams going for a playoff spot and I don't know if they would go undefeated in the AAC this year. I think it's pretty telling that the majority of Big 12 targets during their sham expansion meetings were AAC schools. At the very least, it seems like the AAC has the smallest gap to the bottom of the P5 conferences. |

My kid said it was very interesting to hear the LSU fans talking when the Houston score was announced. "Soooooo .... we're supposed to hire a guy who just got wiped by SMU? No thanks."
That SMU game may have just gotten Orgeron (assuming he beats everybody but Bama the rest of the way) a job offer if the fanbase reactions were any indication.

I'd probably give them that, closest to P5 status I mean. But I figure several current B12 teams run the table in the AAC without much problem.

Take the same number of snaps. I wonder how many teams could do that with pass plays in a shell drill, never mind defense.

Michigan, Wisconsin, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, CU (I can't believe I typed that, but it's true) in college. Seattle, Denver, LA Rams, Minnesota in the NFL. A special nod to the Patriots who have played the best bend/don't break defense in the history of football for over a decade now. |

How do you not view that TTU-OU game as a cosmic joke? Are defensive coordinators around the country watching that and just laughing their asses off? I have never seen such poor defense in a college game. Ever. I'd have to even look at high school to get that kind of comedy.
CU TIger - what does Venables and Clemson d-coaches say when they watch shit like that? Its a damn joke. |

That last drive of the OSU-Penn St game was a highlight reel of bad officiating. As bad as the missed PI call was, the false start on the LT on the next play was even more obvious. He took a full step back before the snap and it wasn't called. The first down before that included a third down run by Barrett that was spotted at least a yard past where he was stopped. On that play the official on the far side had it spotted correctly, but was overruled by the official on the near side that had a clear view of the ball, but completely blew the spot.

Guilty. I had Arky and the points so once I saw Auburn go up early, I was done. But I know the pigs can play defense - I've seen them do it. But there is something fundamentally wrong with what Tech and OU are doing. Ive ever seen WRs just running around all over the field with a defender barely on the screen. How many 2nd or 3rd and longs (over 20 yards) get 30? Or go for a TD? Its comical.

Well sure. In any given week, you can be touched. Sometimes it is your fault, sometimes it's the special teams our offense that caused it. (An example was cu vs Arizona state whenspecial teams turnovers gifted the sun devils 14 points on short fields) But overall? The defenses above will give you a good show most weeks. |

TBH they dont see it. Neither team is on the schedule. They will never see it, unless they choose to watch it after the season just for fun. Yesterday was a mandatory coach day from 6A to 8P in the football offices. They were team watching tape and cross analyzing game plan. But CBV's experience in Oklahoma against Big 12 spread O's was a big reason Dabo went after him. Maybe the biggest reason. That and he still has a bit of a bur under his saddle against Stoops and the fact that CBV felt slighted by Bob didnt hurt their connection. Next week is going to be fun. I wont be in Tally unfortunately but I expect a good game. |

You missed Washington. The Huskies have been playing the best defense in the Pac-12 for two years running now. And per the comments about 40 points - the most they've allowed in the past two seasons is 34.
