Hoops knew about it even before tonight. Since we couldn't talk about our current werewolf game we talkd about many previous and upcoming games instead.

I'll definitely be following along. Kills me not to join the mayhem (which this game will surely be), but I have to get some work done this month and spend some time with the wife so I'm out for a couple of weeks.
Saldana, you don't mess around with your first game, huh? 25 and counting? Wow! |

Well, like Passacaglia said I'm going to be out of town for a couple days next week. But since sign-ups will be taken up to 12 hours before I'll probably sign up at the last minute if things aren't looking busy for me. Hearing all of this werewolf talk has me really intrigued! And it was nice to meet all of you last night! I'm still surprised at how different (and un-wolflike) everybody looks than I pictured. Although I guess you were probably more surprised by my appearance, Barkeep, given you thought I was a guy. |

The best part of dinner last night was Pass saying he wasn't sure what his screen name meant.

I would request this saldana, static times for lynch votes that stay the same everyday...be it 8 oclock every night or something...thats the one problem i have with coffees right now, and dubb voiced the same concern. process night if you get them early, but i ask you set a lynch time thats static...if you miss it, you miss it. Should be a problem getting votes out of this large number.

I agree. I still like the 24/12 system for deadlines, but if night is processed early, which is nice for the players, then simply extend the next day time.

Out of nothing more than my own personal interests, I'd like to request 9pm or later. I won't get out of work before 6pm some nights, and the commute home can take up to an hour. A little breathing time to catch up would be greatly appreciated!

back in post 1, i did say that the day cycles that end during the evening will always be at 9:30. i take my lunch break from 9 to 10 each night, so i will use the first half hour to count, and the second to post, so no worries that there will be variable day cycle deadlines....consequently, if i run the night cycle short, some of the day cycles may be really long. as for day cycles that end in the morning....i work til 1 am, there is no way i am getting up before 9 to process anything, so that deadline is pretty much carved in stone as well.

I liked the static times (used in the first thread that I read through). Something like each day cycle ends at 9pm eastern time and the night cycle ends at Midnight eastern. When they start switching around it gets confusing. I expect this game to have a lot of posts and I dont want to have to read back to catch a posted cycle time. If the night cycle ends early, great, post the results and the next day cycle is just that much longer.

I'm going to be at a loss in this game without Saldana to vote on day 1.

"ALSO, THE ROLES LISTED ABOVE MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL ABILITES NOT DEFINED HERE. THIS IS WHERE SOME KNOWLEDGE OF THE WIZARDING WORLD CAN HELP YOU, AS THE ROLES ARE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WOULD BE IN THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS OR MOVIES."
Could you clarify this point please? I have no familiarity with the books or the movies. Are we going to be told what abilities we have, or are we going to have to guess? Last edited by Desnudo : 01-06-2006 at 03:56 PM. |

basically, it means that the roles may have additional abilites that would be consistent with the HP world, and it is really there more as a disclaimer than anything so when things happen i will just point to it and say that i warned you....dont worry though, if you get a role like this, the explanation of how to use it will be extremely detailed, and i will answer any specific questions by Owl Post.

Depends upon which year of the books we're playing. In the most recent book they're 16 or 17... And besides, you know that Mad Eye has GOT to be a dirty old man with that magical eye he has...

just to clear up the who is going to be hermione question...there are no specific HP roles in the game...no one will be harry or any other JK Rowling character....the roles remain generic for the purposes of making them easier to portray...it would be impossible to be Harry and live through the 2nd night, because to have that role, it would be obvious (scar on head), and the death eaters would go straigt after you.
however, if anyone was going to be hermione, it would be lathum. |

I assume items are transferrable. Is that correct? If so how does one transfer the items?

so with the demons all dead, how does a 9:30 pm sunday start to night zero sound...that would make the first lynch deadline 9:30 am on tuesday...or do we want 2 12 hour cycles to start, making 1st lynch 9:30pm on monday?

Been a looooooooooong time since I actually played (last time actually did, I got killed the first day... hahahaha). Running a game was always fun.
The HP setting is going to be fun. Looking forward to playing.

I got some practice for this by playing about ten live WW games last night.

I think these MB WW games play out very differently than live werewolf. There also seems to be, from what I've seen, a whole hell of a lot less cheating in them as well.

There are some aspects that are different -- it's much harder to pore over voting records when you're pressed for time and you don't have a written record -- but there are also some common elements, e.g. when you're trying to hint at being the seer or the witness, that sort of thing.
