Britrock and ntndeacon arrive from different directions. They are welcomed by JAG and bhlloy who remain in the Bathroom.

Dubb goes down the stairs that Britrock came up.

Dubb go to the MIDDLE thread please.

Just a last minute numbers play with CR falling and Dubb going, and the knowledge there's a number of things in here we didn't look at yet

So, JAG (and the two new guys you can go back a few posts and see what happened) - what do you make of all the movement? Do you think the room in effect "reset" itself?

Could be. Though I sort of doubt if it is a reset of the room then the treasures are in the same places. I expect some moving around

Agreed. The more I think about it, the more it's likely that it's just a result of the levers being pulled (in this and other rooms) rather than a total reset

But there has to be *some* resetting and moving/refreshing of treasure I would have thought, otherwise all the locations will have been investigated by tomorrow. Unless there's a bunch more rooms, but I think 4 sounds about right compared to the last CF game.

I wouldn't be sure that the room reset itself. For comparison's sake, the middle floor changed colors, becoming what I presume was the basement earlier in the day.

To get a jump on tomorrow's work, ... didn't I just read something about Champagne?

Instantly Hogsworth is at the door with a large bottom of the finest champagne and 4 flutes. "A toast to you, bhlloy." He sets the service down and leaves.

Hmmm, what do we do with that then? The alcohol seems to be at least somewhat significant in this game

Also last thought for the night - the person who is owed something and needs to pull the bell pull - I'm guessing that is dubb who never actually got his beer? Or does anyone else have any insight?

I think the people moving around is related to lever pulls. It looks like we were going to move somewhere, then we came back, so by pulling both we probably undid the work of one of the levers.

I assume it was one of you guys finding things to do the happy dance because I found nothing inspecting the mirror, though the result made it sound like maybe I got a 'bad roll' and it's possible there could be something there after all (though I won't be trying again). That an inspection could fail potentially explains how CF gets around the fact that almost everything will be inspected in a couple days unless I'm reading too much into it.

INSPECT WASH BASIN

I'm assuming Chief didn't get to actually do that before he moved away.

Britrock and ntn, any insight you can give from wherever you traveled from?

Note that the color CF uses in the first post is black, then the second one after 'oh dear, someone has pulled something' is written in blue. The lever colors were black and blue. It seems like pulling just the black lever will take us somewhere else, perhaps a secret room, and pulling the blue lever gets us back from there. I think today we should pull the black lever and not pull the blue one to see where it takes us.

not really much insight. I will say I am not up here due to a lever. we had 3 levers pushed and 2 people moved as a result of them on the ground floor and yet we still had the wall take us from the parlor and back to it . I suspect that it was not two but one lever that caused it...at least on the ground floor

Starting to wonder if the drinks in this game aren't somewhat significant. I'm also very interested to know why britrock mentioned champagne and then I get champagne right after. Seems odd

CF - does the list of inspectable items change with your writeups? Do we have items in here that we can do something with that we didn't have yesterday?

Looking at the room description:

Quote:
An ASHTRAY and champagne bottle perch on the edge of the tub.

Not sure if that's just flavor or we can actually interact with the champagne that was poured. I don't recall seeing something in the rules about it, but CF doesn't usually spell every game mechanic out. At this point I'm just going with flavor.

The holes that opened up where CR was I'm guessing might be related to someone on the middle floor pressing a button or pulling a lever. The fact that there were two holes that opened might mean they were done in different rooms or as a result of different button presses / lever pulls.

I'm interested to see what's in the black lever room.

Still no voting I see.

JAG, I'm pretty sure some players are getting loot from their inspections. And yay, Lennon!

I wish I could remember what color lever was pulled to convert the Middle Floor from Red to Black (colors seem important, so worth capitalizing). Earlier in the day, though, I had pressed the Black button on the Ground Floor (though I don't remember the floor's color) and was sent immediately to the Middle Floor.

I bet that was flavor initially, but became a mechanic at some point (perhaps when I mentioned it). But Hoggsworth toasted bhlloy, so maybe bhlloy was on to something about the levers.

And the treasures, I guess.

The thought also came to mind that maybe Hoggsworth mixed up our names, with the "b"s and all.

Can you explain what the heck that means? The middle floor switched places with the basement? You said it went from red to black?

I was going to ask for more details, but I guess I can always read the thread if I end up there and it becomes relevant.

It sounds like they did what we did, pulled the lever that made the wall move then pulled the other one to move them back into the room. I wonder if these hidden rooms or whatever might be linked somehow, or maybe each room has a similar mechanism to a separate room.

You pull the Black Lever again today and it actually seems to work. At least you feel it give the same reaction and give in your hand. You haven't seen any consequences yet.

It was from another room action I would guess. The levers in this room didn't process until after the movement deadline last time.

britrock searches the tub carefully to not get wet until spleen lands in front of him and soaks him to the bone. So he dives into the tub and pushes spleen out to search. JAG is more careful searching the washbasin, ntndeacon looks into the mirror and follows its reflection to a place he searches, bhlloy seems content to fondle the towels and get them all dirty. spleen picks up the ashtray and sifts through the ashes.

As Spleen gets tossed out of the tub, he searches through the ashtray and doesn't see the other hole that opens beneath him. Down he goes again. (Spleen go to the middle floor thread.)

Maybe that's another effect of the lever pull. Last time two holes opened when two levers were pulled, this time just one lever and one hole.

Fare thee well spleen (not that he'll see this until he falls through another hole), we hardly knew ye.
