I was under the impression that elementals weren't human or demon -- they were their own thing. I could be wrong, though.

The elementals are not affiliated with either side. They are independant entities who help/hinder both sides, and have their own agendas. If you're speaking of the Druid/Warlock (the "mortal" player on both sides who actually try and barter favors from the elementals), yes. The Druid is on the Human side, the Warlock is the Demonic equivalent. Edit: Those 2 (the druid and the warlock) are the ONLY "special" roles that will be revealed. For everyone else, they will simply be labeled "Human" or "Demon" (along an appropriate description of their death, which may give some clues, but I will never flat out say/describe a role upon death except for those two.) CW, thanks for the clarification. It was indeed the druid/warlock descriptions that I had stuck in my mind for the elementals in terms of good/evil roles.
OK, so lets explore the warlock/druid roles with the elemental(s) ... If both the warlock and druid sacrifice correctly and there is only one elemental would both sides gain a favor? Or would only one favor be granted? |

Both would receive a favor is they sacrifice correctly, regardless of how many elementals are left (unless there are none left). |

By the way, I will be out most of the evening tonight. I'll try and field everyone's questions when I get back tonight, but I have no idea when that will be.
To field one question which has already been asked by PM...yes, sacrifice actions WILL take place on night 0, so I need those sent to me. |

Im guessing two elementals, 1 druid/warolock(1 of each), 2 other demons, and 8 humans...of those id say 3-4 have special roles(doctor, seer, etc.) so were really only looking at like 3-4 normal villagers...if im right, we already have a lot of liers...
As for the elementals, once they are killed once i think they might still be a good kill somewhat as they have their own agendas...their agendas could differ from our vastly....id still say take a shot for a demon though. Time for me to review the player list to myself to review past games playing styles and contrast with this one

I'd think there would be more than two demons, if we got lucky and got one right away you'd think there'd be more than one backup. But this is my first game, so really I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.

CW, I assume that the druid counts as a human and the warlock counts as a demon? Or are they both counted as humans in the 1:1 ratio, with the warlock being a human working for the demons?

Well I'm checking in. But I call BS on all these people claiming to be simple villagers. I think in this game there are few, if any, simple villagers.

Dola: My guess is 2 elementals, 3 demons, and the rest humans. Although I think there could easily be 1 more elemental or demon (though not both).

I'd guess 3 elementals, 3 demons and the rest villagers.
I'd guess if the druid and warlock have to sac something and the elementals have to agree beforehand, that there would have to be something of a simple majority setup at least in the beginning. Maybe, dunno. Just throwing it out there.

That makes more sense to me (especially once it was clarified that the Warlock is a demon with an extra ability). I wonder about three elementals -- they already get one free pass and the ability to make a kill (which it would seem likely to do immediately after being identified), plus the "vast power" that CW mentioned at the top which it would make sense to think that there are some sort of additional self-preservation secret power. So basically, I'm thinking that they're powerful enough to only be two of them. And as I typed that, it occured to me to wonder if it's a good idea for me to be speculating about this.......

Out of curiosity, how do the Elementals "win" the game, or are they just unique beings in the game that have a role, but not one to win or lose?

This talk about the elementals power ignores that we don't know what the victory condition is for the elementals. I agree that they seem rather powerful, but I trust CW to have made something about their victory condition to equalize things.

Studying the rules ... I think I understood the last game fairly well, but this one is, um, quite a bit *wrinkled* compared to the others.

As the sun slowly rises admist the snow capped mountains, the remaining guardians of this fortress commence their unenviable task of hunting down the traitors. Who will be the first to go? And more importantly...will the forces of good kill one of their own, or will they manage to track down those who would unleash the minions of Hell?
As the gathered forces assemble for the first of many days, there is already a sign of carnage. Well, if you count a pair of dead animals carnage. Atop a stone altar, a mass of filthy, bloody stained fur, the rapidly decaying remains of a Yak lay silent. Was it a diseased yak, worthy of mounting? Was it an offer worthy of the elementals? Only the great powers know. Skewered across a blood-inscribed pentagram is the rotting carcass of a Goat. While it is not nearly as awe-inspiring as the might of the Yak, the potent Goat-esqueness of the offering cannot be ignored. But, while mere mortals could be impressed by this, were the elementals? Let the games begin. DAY 1 DEADLINE, LYNCH VOTES DUE 9am CST THURSDAY |

3) Schmidty 4) Dacman 11) TazFTW |

I hate being the random number on Day 1 votes. I'm never sure if it is BS with a wolf/demon voting for me or if someone is actually using a random number generator.
No strong opinions as of yet so I'll hold off on any votes. |

I VOTE BLADE, for he is crafty, and crafty is evil. Therefore, he is a demon, since Demon are evil.

Not sure why we are casting votes so early, but I don't really want to be late to the party. I'm going to
VOTE ST. CRONIN Random number generators have no place in this game. I hate them, get no read off of them, and think they are stupid.
