Love how Sydney Rice went out of bounds untouched on the Seahawks first good offensive play

Also is the Browns/Seahawks game on in SC because of the residual Sydney Rice love?

Yes. There is some BAD football being played right now.

CLE/SEA, DEN/MIA, WAS/CAR all have been pretty awful.

Great throw and catch by Newton/Steve Smith, the second half has been so much better than the first. Not committing 3 penalties every drive helps I guess.

I hope Denver wins this just so I can see the Tebow love, and I hate the adulation of Tebow. I love how he throws a wounded duck over the middle and we hear " That was a great pass!"

What? Look, I'm not a Tebow fanboy and if he's the QB he was the first three quarters, he's not going to last long.

But that pass was picture perfect. No, it wasn't a tight spiral, but the accuracy was where only his guy could catch it and away from danger. It was a great catch by the TE, but no more of a great catch than the drop by Willis two plays earlier.

Rivers throws the ball away on 4th down and the Chargers lose.

He must have thought it was 3rd down...right???

With the absence of Manning, Tebow is quite likely the most interesting thing about the NFL to me this year. I figure that means he'll throw a pick six in OT or something.

I know this much, I'm more interested in a Tebow win than I am in a Falcons win. I guess that's in part because Calvin is probably the next closest thing in the league to being someone I'd actively root for but still.

Nope. This was the capper. Blowing a 15 point lead with 3 minutes left in the game.

Tebow is so lucky. That first TD was such an awful throw.

Stafford in 3 of his past 4 games has a completion percentage of 48.8%, 56%, and 46.9%. Um, that's not good.

Was able to catch the last 2 Lions games on TV, and man he's been awful. He's had the accuracy of a drunken blind man that died 3 years ago.

The pass ended up in a perfect spot, but a great pass puts a spiral in the perfect spot. It's almost like Tebow got the ball there by accident. If Tim Tebow was trying to throw the pass like that... well, heaven help us all.

Hardesty got 95 yards on 33 carries.

I wonder what the record is for most carries without getting to 100 yards.

I find it odd that a QB like Palmer can be "not in game shape" - He doesn't run the ball anywhere, and just about anyone off the street can throw a football 40 times without feeling too much fatigue. I guess either way Bollers performance isn't gonna raise any questions as to who should be starting in two weeks.

Not sure, but I would almost guarantee Eddie George owns that record.

Edit: George does have a game against PIT in 2000 where he ran 34 times for 98. Not sure if thats the most, but..

Part of the problem with Stafford being injured so much people assumed he would be really good based on limited viewing. His accuracy issues is rather surprising though.

Turner getting 100+ yards I think was one of the safer bets coming into today. The DL might be able to create a bunch of pressure, but it matters little when a team can jam it down your throat.

Boller? Boller?
The Chargers just conjured the Schottenheimer era against the Jets.
The Chiefs may be the best team in the division at the moment & they aren't really the surest bet in the world.

I'm not saying it's likely, I'm just pointing out the possibilities that's all.

Brian Robison just kicked a Packer in the nuts after an extra point - the rule for the penalty should be enforced differently; especially now with the increase in touchbacks.

Perhaps after the next 'play' so instead of on the kickoff it should be wherever the ball ends up. So if it's a touchback it should be half the distance to the goal line, etc.

I watched every play of John Elway's career. (really, I"m a sports geek if you guys are just figuring this out) He didn't always throw spirals. The goal is to get the ball in the spot it needs to get to. It may have been an accident, but we can never know what the QB was trying to do. All I know is the ball went to a perfect spot. It couldn't have went to a more perfect spot.

Another poster above talked about the horrible throw on the first TD pass. I think in context the throw is a little bit better. First off, he evaded an unblocked blitzer from his blind side. Then he ran against his body to make that throw.

It's funny, there were at least 10 throws today Tebow made you could look at and say "no way in hell an NFL QB throws the ball like that" The swing pass four feet over Moreno's head. The pass to the sideline that ended up between a mid range Royal and a deep Thomas. Missing a wide open Decker by 15 yards. I mean, I can come up with a crapload of em off the top of my head.

His most impressive throw of the day in my mind was the 43 yarder to Willis. Not because it was a very tough throw, but he stepped up in the pocket and hit him in stride. That was a solid throw. The TD and the diving catch by the TE were thrown where they were needed to be and they worked.

If he throws the ball like he did the first 3 quarters, he's got about 10 games left as an NFL starting QB. If he throws the ball like he did the last quarter, he'll be the starter in Denver next year.
