Classic game 2:

Napa Valley 6, Chico 4

A Juan Ortiz 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th for the Winemakers is the difference in this one.

Spoiler

Napa Valley leads the series 2-0

Tony Perez is one of the best pitchers of his generation, but after spending the majority of his career with a struggling Boston Settlers team, he may not reach 200 wins for his career. Will he still have done enough to make it to the Hall of Fame once he retires?

He's made the most of his first postseason in his career this year with Napa Valley so far. He is 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA thus far this postseason. He is set to pitch game 5 for the Winemakers to try to pull off a possible FOOL sweep.

Back in the summer of 1993, I spent the 3 months before college waiting tables in a Mexican restaurant. I am pretty sure all of the "Spanish" that I learned in the kitchen there is inappropriate for conversations around Teach!

If he can pull this off, he is the poster boy as to why trading is GREAT!

It's worth it. Those guys will give me more respect when I need something from them if they know I can tell them off in their own language (and I can take their mierda, too ).

Congrats to Teach! And tough luck, spot. I lost the last two Classics. Sucks to get so close and not take it. I would wish you the best in a return, but, let's face it, I am going to be doing my best to keep you out of the Classic.

Thanks.

But I don't know about this whole "foe" tag that I've been saddled with...

On topic, I am surprised to have gotten to the classic, but to lose like that is a bit hard. Hopefully we can sustain a bit here in FOOL.

At least CF knows that I'm here anyway...

Now the big question... Will Tony Perez decide this is the best way to end his career and go out on top? Chances are that he doesn't have a whole lot of career left in him, so the fan in me hopes he does retire.

The practical part of me realizes that he is only 33 and even though he doesn't have anything left in the tank, he likely will try to hold on for another year. Frank Dawson retired at 34 years old and faded early just like Perez is going to, but that doesn't happen often
